Hi.
I am looking into purchasing a new phone for myself. My budget is $400USD.
I've looked on Amazon, and I can get some very nice phones, but I would like to see what the community thinks I should get. I would like to get a phone that has excellent dev support, and is future-proof for atleast 1-2 years.

Title pretty much sums it up. I'm having a hard time digging up any good info on hellscore kernel for N5. This is my first Nexus and I noticed there was a decent following on the N4, which I missed out on. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this kernel on the N5. Any thoughts and opinions welcomed and appreciated.

I couldn't find one for the N5. I searched and only found a couple people asking for dl links but nothing dedicated to that kernel. I've read through the German thread using translate, but the English becomes broken up and there's really not much useful info. I would rather hear from XDA folks that have any experience with it. If there is indeed a thread here, and I overlooked it, I apologize and will ask the mods to remove this one. I feel like there was a good enough following for it on the N4 that perhaps an N5 thread would possibly be warranted...info seems scarce.

I'm fairly new to the tablet scene. I have a Kindle HD6 but wanted something running plain Android, not KindleOS. Enter the tablet in the subject line. $50 for a 1024x600 IPS display with 8gb storage, 512mb ram, it was just too much to pass up. I have been messing with it, and overall its fair to good (especially for the price!). But, I am having a heck of a time finding information on rooting it. This is the exact tablet:

I'd like to be able to move apps to the sd storage, setup a web server it (accessible via hot spot) and things like that. I have a decent Linux background, but tablets are mostly new to me. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd sure appreciate it. Googling for things like "rk3126 root" and "h701 root" are getting me nowhere fast. Thank you so much!

Hi guys.. now that android 6.0 is officially rolling out.. I am wondering when you guys think we'll have one for OPO. Or does anyone know of any 6.0 rom for OPO?
Really early to tell, at least some weeks, probably a month or maybe two. Lollipop will do for now, but I can't wait to taste the marsmallow! :victory:

My thread is actually asking a different question. But nevertheless, feel free to delete the thread and save 87 KB of server hard drive space and more importantly, justify your position as the hall monitor, instead of ignoring it and moving on.

You're essentially asking the same question. Plus you can see in the index that there is only one 6.0 ROM for this device, and that's the one that was built from the dev preview. There's no need to delete the thread, I'm just saying that if you had looked properly you would have found your answer. I'm not sure why you're becoming combative simply because I'm reminding you of your responsibility as a member of this site.
Looking to buy a 6.5 inch phone, preferably one thats fully compatible in USA. Let me know guys.
