Solve problem by one Restore your backed up EFS folder .
Fail to backup EFS then SEARCH .
<<IMEI etc etc multiple posts >>
Or take to a service center .

Does anyone have backup the efs folder ?
I want a backup of efs folder.
if someone has a N8000 tablet please help me.

Stupid to give out your EFS with potential to clone your IMEI.
Anyway EFS is individual to each persons phone as is IMEI.
Any illegal methods of cloning IMEI are not allowed on XDA .

[UNSOLVED] Unknown IMEI/Baseband

LESSON LEARNT (for everyone): Please make sure to do a complete EFS backup before you do anything or you will end up like me!!!
So yeah I flashed Deodex_LF2_Cwm.zip yesterday, trying to deodex my DDFL2.
And following that I experienced total loss of mobile signal, baseband, IMEI, IMEI SV, and phone (*#1234#).
And I haven't been seeing this kinda thing to come, I did not back up EFS. (Yeah brilliant me)
So I tried a few of these:
[GUIDE] Recover your IMEI in 9 steps
Repair IMEI using EFS Pro
Reflashing from latona.pit then XXKPE; for a few times
Flashing stock ROM for Malaysia region (Froyo and GB)
Flashing various Modem.tar (DDLE1, DXKP7, etc) via Odin3 at different ROM levels (XXKPE, DDLF2, even CM10A4)
Restoring Nandroid backup from other SL user (Thanks Rich'Dawg')
But nothing worked so far yet.
Now that I checked the /efs folder is empty and there is only a folder named lost+found.
Some websites said about fixing IMEI for small fees but in cases of blank IMEI (*#06#), chances are only 30%.
And my last resort would be getting it replaced in Samsung service centre or any repair shop, which I suspect that the motherboard would be more expensive than some simple new Android phones.
Leaving this forum for the moment as to collect more money to get a new phone . . . :crying:
Lastly, thanks for all the input. Greatly appreciated.
Do you able to call anyone. ? if yes then no need to change anything. if no then you should search for imei solution on xda. there is some tutorial for fake imei.

Sad enough this folder does not exist in my phone....
Have you had any idea if Samsung would fix this in Malaysia..? Or how much would that be.

no idea of how much it should be.
but a idea to help you,
1st idea:
go in recovery and fix permission.
2nd idea:
you said you flash Deodex LF2 in CWM, it should not touch efs folder. so, very high change of your nv_data.bin file backup still good.
OK. use any file browser look in the efs folder, see if the below file still exiting, (they are hidden file)
check on the file date. is the date older than the date you flash the zip, if yes, this is the one original from your phone.
the file name start with a dot
.nv_data.bak - ( this is your imei backup file) copy and rename the .nv_data.bak to nv_data.bin and set permission and change owner.
.nv_data.bak.md5 - (delete this file first)

Fixed permission.
I found one .nv_data.bak dated year 1994 , which I think came in when I was trying to flash some efs fixes i found in XDA.
Without much hope I tried what you said, but still nothing happened. IMEI blank, baseband unknown.
Is it possible to have the mobile phone repair shop with RIFF or Jtag or some box thingy to have this done?
i think you must change the motherboard

Mate, do you like JellyBam V.1.3.0? Because that's the only Nandroid backup i have in my phone. I was thinking to upload it to my Box account for Emergency Backup if i don't have my computer. If you like, i can upload it for you, but the size of the backup would be nuts, it's 850 MB. It's up to you.

a friend of mine ran through the same same problem and i think he did some sort of repair from a shop but later we came to know that the backup can do the task not sure whether that work or not but u can give it a try,, BEST of Luck with that..... Hopit Fix the Issue
Good luck sir! As far as I know, if you would choose to replace the motherboard from repair center, it would cost you more or less 80% of the original price of the phone. So it would seem that you have to buy a new one. I hope that a nandroid backup (as stated above) would solve the problem. God bless you! Think positive
i have the same problem and tried those solution the TS tested and still no luck, i wan't to try those nandroid backup but can't find any.

never thought deodexing gonna brick the phone.. ive deodex once without any problem.. without any doing backup before that.. lucky me.. huhu
try other people's nandroid and see.. i dont think it needs a specific emei or what so ever.. as long as its a backup.. goodluck..
the problem is we can't find someone to lend us their nandroid backup.
I did it!
Bro, try use Efs Pro, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
Try the new version, you can choise Qualcom version, write you IMEI number, go back to initial and do NV Restore.
My SG Fit go back to life (after maybe 4 months with 0000000000000 Imei). :good:
I´m very happy
Hope it work for you! Good luck!

[help needed] dead network & blank imei ???

Hello everyone, i recently buyed a used samsung galaxy r. Its in good condition.
But it has one serious issue ie, no network & blank imei number.
I browse google whole day & found that this happening becoz of corrupted efs, i checked efs folder via root explorer, there is no imei folder in it :banghead: i also tried efs backup but nothing done.
Why this issue happening, is there any one who can help me out to resolve my no network issue,
I also went to nearest service center, they told to change the board which cost around rs8500 (indian).
Help me frnds, my galaxy r is without network & blank imei ?????
My last hope is XDA!
Help ???
You cannot fix it without the original EFS. You could ask the seeker if he/she has a backup of the folder. Except restoring the backup, only SSC can fix it.

The problem is maybe with just the nv_data.bin file, you may check out this thread.

Thanks for help, but will this work ?? But in my case there is no imei folder inside efs will other galaxy r efs backup will work????
I will try this & plz support me
It makes no sense to create an EFS backup of an already corrupted partition. Also, the imei folder has nothing to do with the actual imei number. It is stored in the nv_data.bin file.

Actually Sir, I format my system partition with odin and flashed stock gb rom 5 to 6 times while resolving my issue, and at time i accidently deleted the contents of EFS folder & reboot but still no network & imei..
So i again flash stock rom via odin & all EFS files(nav_data.bin) again automatically generated, is this normal ????? but no luck to restore my imei & n/w ..
Below is the screenshot of my phone
Yes, the file is generated automatically, but it doesn't know what to generate. So it either generates a fake IMEI or garbage I assume. We would need to know about the internals of the nv_data.bin file to fix it. You have to take it to SSC or someone who knows about the details.
Above method is not working.. any helps please..

My Samsung galaxy Sl 9003 shows unknown IMEI

guys, pl Help me.
I m in big trouble.
Handset doesnot supports any of the Sim becoz it has no IMEI Number i Have a folder names EFS backup folder bt i am not able to restore it back pl help me i Have also tried to change motherboard by providing it to repair center bt they said that it is not accepting any of the mother board
If you got a efs golder as a backup, just recopy back the efs folder to system folder. With root permissions of course.
That helped for me

i still have the same problem baseband is also unknown. I have my backup but it didn't work. Service center said it's a hardware problem so mainboard has to be changed which was so expensive for a 2 year old phone. I hope you can fix your problem. And cukierkas which permissions you used while pasting backup efs folder?
Didn't bother even to check. Just pasted and rebooted.
i'll try later today hope it'll be fixed
just flash stock gingerbread DDLF2 2.3.6. you'll get your imei back. 100% worked for me. hope it works for you all..

Read the PM and will help U and guide you.
Regards
After that you can decide if U want to post this guide, I can change the IMEI and other stuff.
The certificate thing will be more hard to acchieve - Will have to use the Z3S toolbox.
If any 1 can help you and give you the mmcblk0p14 ( EFS ) recovery backup of G355H that will be a starter.
No infos will be used or shared.
Yust need a working backup of EFS ( In recovery or just plain copy/cat of /dev/block/mmcblk0p14 If any1 can help you
-->You will have to give me your IMEI and S/N. They are located at the back of the battery inside phone ( please use PM ! )
-->Then I need your CSC code ( contents of 3 leters in /system/csc/sales_code.dat ).
--> MSL will have to be bypassed
I will make a init changes and create a starting working EFS backup, then it's up to you if U want to fix EFS it with Z3S toolbox, as told GC2 phones are supported.
I will make all the necessary needed changes.

If u were referring to imei sertification signature I just compare it with 2 gc2 phones. Its same. WiFi Mac address could be found at box that came with phone and Bluetooth Mac address is last digit or character - 1 (eg. Wifi 4 or C - Bluetooth 3 or B)
msl code could be calculated but when I open file msl_code as text I don't know in what format is it or how to decode it. Also when I compared msl_addr with other gc2 it was different and in strange format.

MSL is the key, have a way of bypassing MSL Check. msl_addr and msl_code is indeed in strange encoded format, but if u bypass it there is a way it can load radio without check and use the network.
Not so sure about certs imei_certification1,imei_certificationsignature1,imei_signature1,imeino1 have a check I guess, so does the z3x devs say. For now on G355HN I havent have any probs, have made working radio with same IMEI/SN, luck ? Donnno , have to test it further.
It's mine error, I don't have those 2 Gc2's I repeared it. Deleted the EFS backups after successfull repair Were too happy about it ...
Have u compared 2 different models of GC2 ? G355xy ?
@StratOS_HTC
U were right I check first 2 imei files but imei_signature1
Is different. I got 2 g355hn phones.
This is why I added efs backup in recovery as important
Edit..
About msl code. I Google it and its mentioned only for CDMA phones not for wcdma so it could be some strange leftover as we encounter before with our phone.
Edit.
I was right. I just deleted msl code and address and reboot phone and 2/3g, call works.

First of all EFS is strictly personal informations and it's kinda binded with operator and OEM info ( like IMEI number/s, Serial no ...
There are a lot of interesting post here in xda and google.
http://www.gsmtwo.com/samsung-core2-g355h-imei-repair-done-box-z3x-to-do-this-hardware-problem/
If U want to use your current network preferencess, cell number and current network data access and your phone you will have to fix your current EFS.
First you may politely ask some user if they can provide/help you with EFS backup of your exact model of phone.
Second you'll need IMEI1/IMEI2 number and serial no to restore your EFS config. Those infos are on the back of the battery on the phone.
Second if U have luck with it you will be rewarded, but for now your current phone is out of order with any sim card !
And third try to explain what have you done with your phone to change/erase EFS in detail.
The rest is up to U ...
First of all try backup and provide me with your current EFS backup. Hope your phone is rooted.
