Is the WLAN Call Function with the XZ Dual Firmware possible? Because with my single Sim Version i've found the Function only in the Germany Customized Firmware.
Hi
Yes it's possible. I live in Hong Kong and use customized HK Firmware.

Great.. ? Thankyou. then i Flash this version.
As expected: WLAN Call does not work here in Germany (O2) with XZ Dual Sim Version ? The menu item is not here... With my Single Sim Version it works. Is there any way to activate manually in the settings? My device is rooted.
I have the option in Settings.

I think it´s a Problem with the Provider (O2) here in Germany in combination with the F8332 (DualSim). This phone is not to buy officially here in Germany. With my F8331 (SingleSim) it´s possible to activate Wlan-Call in the Settings and it works with it. Do you have an Local Provider in HK?

Yes, Smartone, Three HK, PCCW and China Mobile. All 4 have Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE. Our phones here are all Dual Sim.

Is there any workaround for choosing the default calling sim for dual sim devices? The app asks to select the sim for every call that I make and it is really annoying.

you can go to sim cards in settings and set your default sim there...

I already did! But the dialer app itself should include support for dual sim devices. Unfortunately, this one dosen't(probably 'cause Pixel itself is a single sim device and this is from the Pixel dump)
Wait! Do you mean that it is working for you?

i think the ui needs a little bit of tweeking...

Hi
I'm about to purchase a Z5 (I know that is has 2 years now, but on a sale I think it's still a good buy). I'm wondering if it is possible to convert E6653 to E6683. I have a Huawei P8 lite and I have done it using https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/guide-debranding-converting-single-sim-t3305977 . Is there any thing similar for the Z5?
Thanks
Is this really possible ?

I think NOT possible. Hardware should support this. After looking sim tray for both models, not possible to do that.

I agree that the hardware must support. In the P8 lite the trays are separated but the second SIM tray holds either the sdcard or the second SIM. You can see it in this picture that the SIM is put on the side
. So the Z5 single SIM tray might hold 2 SIM as well. The question is if the Z5 hardware will read the second SIM in that position (and then the software would have to be dual SIM, of course).
Thanks
Hi everyone,
my used xperia xz have signal/network issue: when 4G is on and i receive a call the signal is so low that i have to move around or turn off lte to have a better experience; data signal is so low and laggy, sometime havent signal indoor etc... I bought a used device, originally come with UK firmware and this specs:
Android 8.0
Phone Software Version: 1302-9157_41.3.A.2.171
Global-LTE3A
Generic-41.3.a.2.171
S1 Boot version: 1299-4832 S1_BOOT_MSM8996_LA2.0_O_204
BASEBAND: 8996-8996.gwn.prodQ-00070-40
Customization version: 1305-7307R8E
After a guide of Kuarinfou to flash a firmware i flashed an italian firmware (cause i live in italy and i thinked to could solve it flashing an italian fw) but the signal/network issues are still there. I checked the service menu and I notice that:
- in the network preference's list there isnt the option "LTE/UMTS/GSM" but only LTE/UMTS or LTE/CDMA or LTE only or CDMA only and others combinations
- in the "select band radio" (the first option after clicking the three dots at the top) there are only 3 option: Automatic - America - Japan. NOT Europe!!!!
So I suppose this could be the reason of the issue. I suppose there is a network "limitation" about frequencies.
My questions are:
1) Could be that the reason of the issue?
2) Is there a way to change the band radio?
3) Is there a way to set on europe band and disable US or other bands?
I have read the post about how to modify lte carrier aggregation, could be the solution?
I will attach a screenshot for more info.
Hope in your experience and kindness.
Anyway, thanks you for the attention

Yes, the title sums up what I'm curious about.
Turns out I got an Xperia M2 Aqua with a broken display as a hand-me-down from a friend. I fixed it and it's working great! (check the pics if you'd like).
Spoiler: Pictures of the process

It's alive!
It works and looks great!
... except for the lack of proper LTE bands for my carrier, specifically bands 4 and 17. So yeah, it's currently stuck on 3G/HSPA, which is fine for chatting and checking email, but can be a bother for more intensive tasks.
I know there's another model of the M2 aqua which properly supports such bands: the D2406. Would cross-flashing the modem/baseband from that model do anything?
I actually thought about doing a motherboard swap but I would have to dumpster-dive the local phone repair market to get a motherboard from that specific model (or buy one online), and I can no longer justify the cost, time and effort haha.
I remember reading some LTE band unlocking tutorials for qcomm phones which used the USB diagnostics mode and QXDM or QPST for altering raw values. It seems very risky, that's why I'd rather ask if someone here has had a positive experience in this area, and if so, I'd ask for guidance or advice on the matter.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Whenever I try to activate an eSIM in my 7 Pro (using a fresh eSIM generated from Vodafone UK) I get an error of:
Subject code: 8.1.1
Reason code: 3.8
... utter crap - can't this phone even get the basics right?
Mine worked fine yesterday on Vodafone UK with my Pixel 7 Pro. Scanned the QR code from the pdf emailed to me and it activated immediately.
I've re-created the QRCode about 10 times now. Each time it fails to activate on the Pixel 7 Pro, but works perfectly on an Oppo Find X5 Pro
Have you tried to manually add it?
I imagine Vodafone will claim it's unsupported and be no help.
Hey, did you get this sorted? I have exactly the same issue on VFUK.
guys, any update?
I want this phone, but I use 2 sims (1psim, 1esim) and my esim doesn't work. It's a dealbreaker for me

I have ee physical sim and vodafone E sim. Working perfectly. If you're having issues I'd imagine vodafone would be the best place to start
I think your previous eaim isn't clearly dwactivated from old device.

I have currently completely deleted esim from the old device. Tried again, still nothing. Do I have to wait some time? thx
