S3 screen gets much messier than S2 - Samsung Gear S3

Anyone who migrated from an S2 notice that the S3 screen gets a dirtier, more quickly, than the S2 did?
My S2 screen always seemed to stay surprisingly free of smudges - so much so that I was surprised. Since I got my S3 it seems like I'm always wanting to wipe it off.
Anyone else noticed this?
Anyone else found a way to keep the S3 screen from getting all smudged? (Aside from using the dial when possible.)
Thanks.

I didn't own an S2, but I haven't noticed a lot of smudges on the S3. Of course, I don't have anything to compare it to.

Thanks...I'm almost tempted to go to a store and rub my fingers on an S2 to see if I'm just looking back at the S2 w/rose colored glasses. It just seems like the S2 screen was much more resistant smudging from oil from the skin. I do know my S3 screen gets smudged a lot more than I'd like it to.

Yes, I noticed it seems to be less resistant to fingerprints than my S2 was. Wiping the glass is always a pain too as you invariably start causing the watch to change clock settings as it detects pressure on the screen!

Hah! I'm not imagining it!
I'm thinking about trying a screen protector just for this issue. I prefer the flexible type (not the hard tempered glass) for my phones and may try the same on my watch.

YES!!! you should definitely get one. Gorilla Glass is VERY durable, but it's not scratch proof.
A lot of people swear by the Steinheil Ultra Clears (i used one of my two so far, just didn't put it on to good)
I'm now using a ZAGG, and I like it just fine... Not sure which I prefer, i know i did like the slick surface on the Steinheil better. The Zagg has an orange peel effect..
It would be good to get one that isn't very flimsy, but not very thick. I also want one that my finger won't get caught on, I always leave huge smudges sometimes on my screen.
Coming from an HTC touch pro 2 to the Mesmerize the gorilla glass is GREAT! I did get a free screen protector with my otterbox so that's what I'm using. I used to have a invisible shield on but I took it off as I didn't care for the texture. I like the smooth screen protector that came with the otterbox.
I've used Phantom Skinz for my last 2 phones. they work good for me.
I stopped using a screen protector because I work in a restaurant, so I always text with semi oily fingers. I find the screen protectors are a ##### to clean! However, the screen cleans very easily with a bit of hand Sanitizer and a soft rag.

I used a Phantom Skinz and it works rather well. It does orange peel a bit, but nothing a quick rub on the shirt doesn't fix.
The screen protectors do their job but make it ugly in my opinion.
Oh wait, I only used the one they sent in from cell south store so maybe you can find a good one.

Just wanted to put this out there, I haven't had any sort of case or screen protection since I bought the phone 3 months ago, and I only have one tiny hairline scratch in it that you can hardly even see.
I keep mine in my pocket most of the time, but I've trained myself to not keep anything else in that pocket....

No screen protector on mine either and only one tiny scratch that can only be seen when holding at certain angle. mine is always in my pocket too but I am starting to notice a spot where the screen is showing some wear from sliding around and in and out of my pocket. I am going to invest in a screen protector by the end of the month with some b day cash

I reset my phone after root and lag fix and playlogos1 was not deleted and I went to the file and it wouldn't allow me to delete it. What can I do to get rid of it so i can lagfix my phone.
I don't use one and have zero scratches.. I even let my kids play with it.

MT4G curved screen?

I've had this phone for a few months now. I swear it has a curved screen at the top of the glass. Anyone else notice this?
nope I just see a flat surface, perhaps the curve on the back of the phone is throwing off your eyes to make it looked curved

yeah, you're right I want my phone to look like a phone with inferior hardware. so the SamSux Nexus S has 2.3 big deal so do we, it has no expandable memory, no 4G, if the sun is out that SAMOLED screen gets washed out like crazy (still think it's funny that my in-laws brag on their SGS while inside but ask to use my phone when ever we are outdoors)and it has less RAM. only thing any of the SGS have I wish we had is the Gorilla Glass screen.
So why are you in a myt4g section?? Is somebody having phone envy???
twiztid
Theres no reason for this. Lets keep this on topic guys.
You may have curved glass but we have an external sd card slot htc quality the ability to run sense roms not just stock. Gps works great on our phones.but dont worry you have a curved screen.

Will the White get dirty/yellow?

Ok guys, decided to get the Note 10.1.
I think the white version looks better, but I hate electronics that will get yellow. Any ideas? Otherwise I will just get the gray version.

Well my white SGS2 got very dirty and gray if that means anything. Just get the graphite one and put it in a nice case.

well, i hate white! i hate fingerprint and getting dirty!
so i bought a cover,white too!
i must be out of my mind!
It is the back cover which always easy to get dirty or got patches from the case (other color).
But still, white 'looks' bigger.

I guess there is a chance of that. But no one has owned it long enough to know! I usually buy black items so no history to go by.
I am sure many will question my logic, but as a precautionary measure, I plan on keeping the manufacturer's thick clear plastic backing on it for several months to a year. I do this with new laptop computers too (keep plastic on back of lid). The thing is, you will hardly feel /notice it when using the 10.1 device. It takes away the worry about scratches and discolouration from wear and tear or from coloured cases. Plus, if u r selling, can inch up the price via the 'this is a hardly used item' argument

So true. I quess im a hybrid, my bezel is white but the back is grey. Purchased from BB and the box was sealed....
Bought the grey model! The white looks nice, but just didnt want to take the chance.
Thinking of getting the Note 2 in gray, so it will match.
The SGS3 case seems to really repel the dirt, if the SGnote 120.1 case is made of the same material it won't get dirty...
SGS2 white body was a joke, had a friend whose S2 was really bad looking by the end of thed 1st week. My S3 has been with me for over 2 months now and no problems...
Depends what Samsung used in the manufacture of the 10.1's body...

Yes they may have really improved it. I stayed away from white because of my SGS2 getting stained so quickly. White does look nice however since I have mine in a case anyway graphite is good.

Put a protective film on it and don't worry about it. I prefer the polycarbonate back to aluminum, but aluminum does have greater abrasion resistance. By installing a protective film, you eliminate the one disadvantage of polycarbonate.

Objects you can use with its High-Sensitive screen

I guess everyone knows that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has an option in settings called "High touch sensitivity".
It's intended to be used while wearing gloves, but there are other things which can be used with the Samsung Galaxy S4.
I've tried to use many things on my S4, and some worked.
Here are some objects which can be used with it...
- Almost anything metal (Cutlery, Metal Pen, etc)
- Fruits (Bananas, Oranges, etc)
- Certain Batteries
Post objects which can be used on the S4 below!
March issue of Playboy
My cat
Jacket potato
The metal things will work with any other type of touch screen as well since they transfer static(checked on my S3).
I think that everything that can produce even very small static can used on this phone (this is when the extra sensitivity comes in to play).
Scissors!
And what a stupid thing to do....gladly i had a cheap screen protector

The SGS4 uses that latest tech in Gorilla Glass 3, you can't scratch it that easily. You'd have to try by going full retard on it.
Well mine works with a paper candy bag and I didn't even turn on the High touch sensitivity
Well, you can use the screen with an iPhone 5.
Phonarena demoed that.

Gear s2 screen scratches easily.....

I've had this watch for only a couple days, and to the best of my knowledge it hasn't been hit or scratched against anything. But I have a bunch of micro scratches..... anyone else have this issue? Theyre best seen with the screen off
Good to know, maybe I'll order one of those tempered glass screen protectors for the S2 from Amazon. They aren't available till later next week, and it seemed crazy to buy a tempered glass protector for a watch, but maybe not!!!

Does your normal watch claim to be gorilla glass 3? Is it designed to be touched on the glass constantly? My LG watch urbane doesn't have any scratches, neither does my gear 's og.
I doubt his normal watch is designed to be touched on the glass constantly.

No, but I'm pretty sure my normal watch got glass that is harder than gorilla glass. It doesn't need to flex and can be thick for countering drops etc....

Bought my Gear S2 Classic back in March and literally wear it all day -everywhere including work where it get's banged around a lot since I'm a bartender. Not a scratch anywhere. Not even the casing.
I have no scratches on mine. I have had it since November and wear it 24/7. I even wear it when maintaining my motorcycle and car.
Fred
I have no scratches too and I'm using it since december. My watch survived some small crashs with some doors and other stuff - but still nothing
i had y S2 classic since released, no scratches at all but suddenly today i found 2 parallel scratches forming an "=" sign.....
