Default DPI is 480, but everything is too big, so it's best to use 380.

I feel that everything in the stock rom is unnecessarily big. I tried changing the resolution but it made my hardware navigation keys useless.
changing the dpi solved that problem.
i wanted to know know the difference between the two. And also suggestion on which one should i prefer changing.
p.s. isn't dpi a hardware thing? how can an app change that?
thanks in advance.
just change your dpi

Use this app called Dpi changer that's available in the playstore.. Change it to 180 or 190 and reboot your phone.. The higher the value the bigger your icons will be.. Easy! :good:

So, just set the density back to stock, install xposed frame work and use the module "App settings" to set dpi per app. keyboard won't be affected

so you mean I've to set dpi for each apps, right? That was helpful, indeed. I will do that, if I can't find any simpler solution.

I do it this way
I have my OPO set to a custom DPI of 400, and I really like the size, and it looks great 90% of the time. Except when online using Chrome, with Chrome at the 400 DPI everything does look too tiny, and I would love to specifically set that to the to stock default 480 DPI, but keep the custom 400 DPI everywhere else on the phone.
Is that possible ?

use xposed and app setting module. If you use 5.0+ rom, use pyler's build.

That app isn't well optimised for tablets with the screen size that our head units have. You'll have to lower the dpi to use it. To do this, you'll need root.
I would recommend flashing Malaysk or Hal9k rom and then using any dpi changer app on play store.
How much the dpi needs to be lowered depends on your screen size and resolution. I can't help you there, you'll have to lower it and try again till it works.
Thank you that worked. Changed to 160 dpi and 1280x720

Could you reveal which dpi changing method you used? Tried from developer options, but can't go any lower than 320 dpi.

I have the same problem on my PQ8046BL screen size 1280 x 480, not sure what size to change it to dpi .

Can anyone tell me what their default DPI is? I changed mine in developer settings, now I forget what it was.
Also, what are you using, and hows it working? I've found 360 and 400 work good, except on 400 the keyboard is too low.
Thanks!

Makes everything too small to use, big screen microscopic text
If you've changed it in Developer Settings you can change it back to default in Additional Settings > Accessibility > Display > Display Size
