4G support on both sim slots - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

Few questions have been going around in my mind.
1 How is signal quality while using 4G
2 Does Honor 6X support 4G on both sim slots. Heard it is restricted to 2G while using slot one as 4G

1. It's pretty good here in China, BLN-AL10.
2. No, it's restricted by SoC...4G+2G only...

You can use 4G in second slot as well but at a time only one slot will be 4G.
Signal is good on AL10(China variant) even in India so dont think it should be problem for other model as well.

Dual-SIM clarification

So how does dual-SIM work on this phone? Are both SIMs in stand-by? Can I use both for LTE at the same time? Or only on SIM for 4G and the other one for 2G - if so: can I choose independently which SIM should work with 4G at the moment, or is it fixed like Slot 1 = 4G / Slot 2 = 2G?
I'm thinking over getting this phone - coming from a Lenovo Vibe Z (Dual-SIM) and it sucks, that Slot 2 is always 2G
Both lines in stand by, you have the option to choose which line will provide the Internet.. But only one at a time... Hope this help you...

From what I've seen on several website (including: eprice.com.hk / gsmarena.com...) it seems like most people are saying only sim 1 is LTE capable...
So which one is it?
Both SIMS 4G or only SIM1 4G?
Are there maybe different models?

Got my Z3 Dual (D6633) last saturday and both sim can do 4g, but only one at a time. U choose which sim does data. Both are always on for calls and sms unless u deliberatly turn the sim off in the settings menu.
I'm looking to buy this but wanted to know if SIM 1 is running LTE can SIM 2 run in 3G but voice/text only? Both my SIMs are with Bell Mobility in Canada and they don't have a 2G network. Thanks for the help.

4G in the second sim slot

Hi everyone,
I've got R7plusf with CM-13.0-20160407-NIGHTLY. I have two nano-sims. The second slot is obviously not supporting 4G, I can clearly see it on the speed-test and also on the screen - there is only 'E' showing for the second slot, while there is H+ for the first slot. I've double-checked the settings - LTE is preferred for both slots. Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone know how to enable 4G for the second slot?

Is it so? Here it is said otherwise.
On the official Oppo site it is said "4G Dual Sim" - that makes me think that both slots are supposed to support 4G.

Sorry to clear it up you can not use both sims as 4G. If you use sim 1 as 4G sim 2 goes to 2G and the same with sim 2 as 4G sim1 goes to 2G.

Wooohoooo!! Now that works for me - thanks a lot!
The problem was I could not set up the second slot to use 4G before I specifically set the first one to use 2G.
I though once you've chosen the sim to use cellular data it has the priority, but that was not the case.
Anyway I am happy to have it solved now - thanks again, 2007jchill !!

If your device doesn't support 4g then it's no use trying to get it to work. Manufacturers ship various different models of the same device; what happens is you probably did not get a variant with 4g support.
Fortunately, you dont need a 3g sim to use 3g. 4g sims in general are made to support all signal technologies up to 4g so 3g works too.
...alternatively it could just be that you are on an area with poor 4g coverage and your device ends up sticking with 3g

Both sims to access 4G network.

Is there any method to make both the sim cards to access 4g/3g network. Presently sim 1 only has access to 4g and sim 2 only 2g.

Currently, NO.
Among Honor/Huawei phones, only Recently launched mate 10 amd mate 10 pro has dual 4G Volte...rest all models just support only single 4G sim slot at a time.
Inorder to provide better battery efficiency Huawei provides 4G only on one sim at a time in all it's Honor devices except mate 10 and post models because a consumer mostly uses only 4G on a single sim at a time until recently.

Dual SIM 4G+3G or only 4G+2G ?

I'm contemplating a purchase for a Mate 9 with dual SIM capability ( from Kogan Australia). It's advertised with dual SIM. For me, the secondary SIM would only add value if I can use it on 3G, while I keep the main SIM on 4G.
But in some documentation, the secondary SIM only supports 2G. Has anyone successfully used Mate 9 with 4G+3G SIM combination.

For sure....! I also think 4G+4G can work...
If the Australian version is the same as the European version it will support 2G, 3G and 4G on SIM 1 whilst SIM 2 will support 2G and 3G.

3G would be great on SIM 2. The problem I'm trying to solve is that our Australian telco ( Optus ) has severely degraded its own mobile network, to the point where we can't receive voice calls anywhere in our suburb. LTE used to work well, not any more. On the other hand, they improved somewhat on their 3G network. My wife is still in contract with cheap plan. So I could arrange a dual-SIM where SIM 1 is on 4G with another telco, while SIM 2 stays at 3G with the old telco. Things may improve for their network, or the company is going down, we shall see.
4G/3G is how it does it.
Both will support 4G but you'll need to put the switcher setting on your homescreen so you can switch quickly - you can't have both on 4G but both will support it. The other will be able to use 3G.
