I have the 5 tab theme with the HTC Home plugin, if im not using Wi-Fi and I click on the weather for it to update does that cost money if I dont have the internet plan?

and pick the other option then my isp
it will not use gprs for anything

I did that, but when i click on internet explorer it says connecting to cellular line???

if ur device shows either G or E at top bar near signal strength than surely ur operator will charge u.

it shows little tower thing with a circle at the top and 2 arrows going back and fourth in the middle of it..
"2WIRE933 (Wi-Fi)" thats what it says when i click on it, "connected", but that is when im connected to my computer, as soon as i disconnect it it goes away, i go to Wi-Fi on connections and when i try to connect with my home network it says unavalible? only when im hooked up wit my computer i can use wi-fi?

Dear fellow XDA members,
I am having a problem with the T-Mobile Sensation 4G. I basically have a phone line with T-Mobile and I did not have data service on the line and was using an iPhone 3G, but when I switched my SIM to a Sensation 4G that I've purchased elsewhere, they added the data line and would not let me remove it. I complained multiple times saying that how can they add a feature onto my account without my permission just because of they phone that I use. Especially when I did not purchase the phone directly from T-Mobile itself. Is there a way to disable the internet service completely on the Sensation? I turned off Mobile Network but I still see a H or data symbol on the status bar.
Any help please?

It would help to know if you are using Gingerbread or ICS and if you have stock or custom ROM, have a look at this first Here
Then have a look at this Disable Android Data Connection

Settings > Wireless Controls > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
mangle the APN entry alone for those that are probably in your country.
eg:
Change gprsinternet to gprsinternetx
Change internet.t-mobile to internet.x-mobile

S6 lte problem

Hi
I have a samsung galaxy s6(sm-G920F) on 5.1.1 non rooted, the problem i am facing is that the lte stopped working without any reason, i didnt drop it neither i updated anything it just stopped working now i only see the E sign on the network bar, i couldn't find any answer for this so any help is appreciated

You said your rom is not rooted? That probably means the default network settings for your phone is LTE/3G/2G. That option will look for the best signal you have in your current location, then it will choose that data network i.e., EDGE .
It seems like your 4g/LTE signal is weak on your vicinity Perhaps, if you could force LTE (by rooting and installing Advance Signal Status app from Playstore [Device Info >Set Preferred Network Type > LTE only) you can have at least lte reception. Unless, 4g is not available in your area
Try going outside your house, and find open spot and see if your device was able to detect it.
Just let me know if you still have some concerns. Cheers!

But if I insert my sim card in some other mobile i can see the lte sign on top :/
So it cant be the problem with the reception
& one of my friend uses the same simcard as mine
But he's able to use lte
I have tried the WCDMA only option
But cant get the lte sign
Please help me :/

So it cant be the reception which is causing troubles :/
I cant even connect to a 3g
It only connects to an EDGE :/

Same problem for me. Same galaxy s6 model and same original android version 5.1.1 (g920fxxu3q0kn)
From a couple of days it doesn't connect on lte. But the big problem is that if I choose lte/3g/2g it doesn't connect neither in 3g. I have to force it to 3g only to let the device connect back to internet.
I don't know why but when I came back home, if I switch back on lte/3g/2g, it connect back again on 3g (no lte in my home area)
I'm not sure if it is involved with transit in/out wifi spot or some kind of lte cells. I will try other tests next days
I fear it could be a bad bug

Finally i got network mode selection in lg d800

Now you can also lock 2g, 3g, and 4g band but before that u want to root your devic ?

Edit build.prop: ro.build.target_operator = <here comes the name of the operator ATT >>>> by SCA
In addition also the icon on the status bar that is always on 4G, indicated correctly 2g, 3g or 4g.

Please elaborate the method.

hi after setting ro.build.target_operator=OPEN i can't see the network name on screen, Phone is not showing network name,Do you have any solution to get network name?

get use to it . most of android mobile don't show operator on status bar . but if u still want it , use G3 TweaksBox

After changing ro.build.target_operator=OPEN and rebooting, got the network mode option, but Mobile Hotspot option changed to Wi-Fi Hotspot. And Wi-Fi hot spot is not getting turned on. Shows 'Turning On' for few seconds and goes back to previous state.
Mine is AT&T Unlocked phone. Making tether_entitlement_check_state=0 or 5 doesn't work either.

Icons: 4g AND WiFi

HI Guys. I think this is what's known as a 'senior moment'! I'm still getting used to the subtle differences between my new Mate 9 and my previous Android phones and I have a question about the icons at the top of the screen...
I'm sure that with previous phone,s if WiFi was on it didn't show the data connection via the phone e.g. H+/3g/4g - in other words, it was one OR the other.
I just noticed that on my Mate 9 (L29) BOTH are showing - see attached. Is that unusual? ... or am I going nuts?

I think it's how Huawei manages Wi-Fi +
They're a lot more efficient at switching between mobile data and wifi than anyone else....

Trouble is even if I turn off mobile data and wifi 4g LTE icon still persists. Is that also a Huawei thing?

Turning WiFi off has nothing with 4G.
However ('Huawei thing'), even without Mobile data, it still connects to 4g (but it shall switch to 3g for calls - you can check).
You can disable 4g in Settings / Wireless & network / Mobile network / Preferred network mode, select 3g/2g auto

With mobile data off, it still shows 4G icon in status bar and doesn't connect to anything. My point being it shouldn't show the 4G icon in status bar when mobile data is toggled off.
I believe this has to do with region C185 firmware. As the western Europe versions don't seem to exhibit this behavior.

Yes, it still shows 4g icon because IT IS connected to 4g - please read my previous post/answer
And you can install Net Monster or LTE Discovery and you will see that it is indeed connected to 4g (and to which 4g band, etc) while idle (although you switched Mobile Data off). It only switches back to 3g during the call.
It's not that icon is wrong, it is Huawei behavior.
And it doesn't matter, nothing is wrong in that - it just means that although you switched Mobile Data off, it still attaches to 4g when you are not in call (although you are not using 4g data)
Install Net Monster, LTE Discovery, Net Monitor or Network Cell Info Lite to see details about the band, cell, etc, it us really attached to

It just so happens I have the pro version Network signal info. Yep you're effin right. Its says it's connected. Albeit won't let me upload nor download data. Why does Huawei do this? Other devices normally when disconnected from mobile data show just bars and not 4g LTE icon.
