Expand notifications with one finger swipe - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

May be this is a really noob question but it is very important to me!
I'm currently using a Redmi Note 3 which runs on MIUI 8.x. For some odd reason, MIUI has decided NOT to adopt 1 finger swipe to expand notification (it insisted on 2 finger swipe) while the rest of the Android ecosystem has changed since Lollipop. I find this absolutely disgusting and wanna make sure that EMUI 5.0 doesn't have this problem before I buy.
Anyone can confirm that it is using 1 finger swipe to expand notification? Also, can notifications be expanded in the lock screen too?

You can use navigation buttons to expand the notification panel.

If you mean the notification menu then yes, 1 finger swipe will suffice. It can be expanded in the lockscreen as well.

That's not what I meant actually. I wanted to know if you can expand a particular notification (for example, a new email notification from gmail app) with 1 finger swipe.

In every notification there is an arrow on the right side and if you press it it just expand notification details....
Is that what you mean?

I guess it difficult for me to describe it. Best shown on the video in this link:

Please forward it to 1:00 minute. That's exactly what I meant.

[APP IDEA] Clear notification with one touch

I would like to suggest an app that can perform the action of clearing the notification with a single tap on it (much like how tapping on "Screen off and lock" app will do to off and lock the screen).
I often find it annoying to have some extra notification that I need to drag down the notification, only to clear it afterwards - where I may not want to click into it. For instance, I use a profile changing app (Llama) and it will notify me for any changes in profiles, but it won't go away until I clear it off. I am sure sometimes showing a notification icon is very sufficient already to notify us about something. No need to drag down notification bar to read the content and clear it later.
I know I am lazy to drag down and clear, but a single tap on homescreen to do the job is certainly much better!
Please let me know if there is existing app already.
i don't think there is much demand for such an app, since you already can slide down and press clear
but that is just what i think of it
well i would love such an app. i've also been looking for such an app for a long time but none exists. this is good for notifications that u already know about and don't need to see them so you just clear them away with a click without needing to swipe down and then press Clear.
Would it be s widget/ shortcut?

but if you have root...
I think it's how we can duplicate or mirror the Clear button somewhere else.. either via shortcut or app or widget.. and we probably need root for that..
I dont mind using the "clear" button on my Galxy W , just so long as they STAYED clear. Whenever another notification fires, I get past notification for nearly a month previous come up! - Its bloody annoying and Ithought it was a consequence of rooting, but a friend, with the same unrooted phone has exactly the same problem, so I think this may be a bug with this relatively new model - thought OTA, 2.3.6. update might have solved it but no, - still happens - anyone else have this problem ? (p.s. - have 46 notifications re-appearing at the moment!)
Has anybody found a way to do this? I too would like this functionality. I have tasker installed and thought maybe such a task could be created but I can't figure out how.

Yeah, the built in android notification clear button. Ob the status bar
Sent from my LT26i with Tapatalk 2
With that method you still have to open the notification bar before you can clear them.....2 steps.
The desired function is a one click solution. Like a widget you can place on your main screen you can just click to clear.
Why would this be desirable? Some of us get a lot of notifications and have very large phones. It becomes tedious to use one handed, i.e. to stretch your thumb to the top of the screen, drag the notification bar open, and click the upper corner clear button........especially when its a notification who's content we already know.
Is it a big deal? No, but there is many widgets out there that provide practically zero functionality while this one would actually do something many people could use.

+1 on this
on large screened phones like the Note, it's a major pain in the ass to reach all the way up to pull down the notification bar with 1 hand. There are workarounds such as installing Go Launcher and using the built in gestures to help pull the notification down but it's still a 2 step process to swipe down and click "Clear".
neeeedd
rly need this app....becouse i can clean all my notification whit a simple gesture in my lockscreen, no need to unloock....i cant beleave noone created this app....in google play there is so much **** and nobody creates an application so useful ... absurd ..
Resurrecting an old thread because it looks like the new "halo" feature being developed by the Paranoid Android team will have the added benefit of clearing notifications without having to stretch our fingers to the top of the screen when using the phone one-handed.

[Q] Does this HAM7 have lockscreen notifications built in?

Hey guys, Just wanted to ask a quick question about if the HAM7 has a default built in notification system for the lock screen. I have done many searches on xda and the web and couldn't find any info on this. Anyone care to help me out? Really interested in buying this phone but this was one of the things I was most curious about. I know there are other options like dash clock widget and other 3rd party apps, but I don't even know if widgets are available on the lock screen either! Help me out!
Thanks!
Hi turbo, yeah it does.
Awesome thanks!! Any chance someone could show a screen shot of what it looks like? I have the nexus 5 right now and the lollipop lock screen notifications are functional but not the most elegent of design. Any captures of what a text or email notification on lock screen would be so appreciated!
Thanks!

Are you sure we're all talking about the same thing? I think the OP means notifications in the style of the new Lollipop. Not every phone has these, they're not standard in Android up until 4.4 afaik, and have only been introduced for stock Android in 5.0.
Again, I'm not talking about the icons in the status bar, but about banners on the lock screen.
@vonotny - You're exactly right! I didn't get true lock screen notifications until Lollipop on my Nexus 5. The model I do plan on getting is the L09 and I assume this does not have the lockscreen notifications? This is kind of a bummer... does AC Display work?

Okay, now I get it. And you can set lockscreen notifications for WhatsApp and Facebook. But you don't get all notifications on the lockscreen, which is what you'll need something like NILS for.

Notifications on lock screen, it's a good app, but imho defeats the purpose of a lock screen if people can read notifications on top of a lock screen. It works well though.

Aha, my friend, it seems there is after all something I can teach you
This is NILS: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roymam.android.notificationswidget
Shows you notifications banners of ALL app notifications either on the lock screen or as a home screen widget. Very handy, especially if you have your lock screen protected and can't swipe down the notification bar. It's like the lock screen notifs in iOS and Android L, has been around for a couple of years (since JB, I think).

Question: banner call

Hi everyone, I have a simple question that bother me a bit. If I remember correctly, when I used for the first time this phone, I saw a black little banner at the top of the screen for an incoming call, like the ones for the notification s. Now, when I'm using it and I receive a call, there is no banner at the top (useful if I don't want to answer the call and keep doing my stuff), instead the call appear in the whole screen.
There is a way to add this banner for an incoming call?
Thank you in advance!

There is an option for the heads up notification under settings --> notification and control panel --> notification centre. From there you can modify different apps for the heads up notification, the lock screen notification and the status bar. I have this option for many apps such as what's app or Facebook, but there is no phone app. That's the main problem! And I remember at the beginning, when I had this phone for the first day, I could answer a call from this heads up notification. I also tried to turn all the listed apps on but without success.

Ok, it's the same in EMUI 4.1. I find the process and, sadly, the notification "banner" is on.
I also discover when i'm watching a video on youtube or with the player video, the call actually appear in the pop-up notification, so maybe it work for every devices like that. Now i'm curious if it is the same for your phones. Do the pop-up notification appear only when you are watching a video and if u are doing different stuff it appear at full screen?
Unless the app that is sending the notification is the one running if you've got banners turned on you should see them.

fingerprint gesture

Anyone onow a way to use the fingerprint gesture to pull down the notification shade like in the pixel and the s8???? I tried some apps but they usually dnt wrk.... Is it a hardware limitation on the n5 that it might not b possible??? I tried fingerprint quick action when it was in the beta stage and it wrked great, but once it hit the playstore it stopped responding like b4....
Any one know a way?
Hardware limitation I think..
you can use a launcher called: Nova Launcher
but u need to buy the premium version.
to be more specific, it will not act the same way you are asking, in the premium features you have on screen swipe gesture where you can assign the swipe down gesture to show the notifications.
I'm using this method and it is really nice.

Sure take your time.
I also wish the grid setting could be independent of each other: the home page, the dock, and the drawer.
Then the 10+ column on homepage would not mess up the search bar (which is in the dock).
