Are they the same when it comes to flashing roms? I am not sure exactly but I am under the impression that one is just a dual sim model. I have been on here every day keeping my eyes open for roms. I have the FRD-L04 model. white 32gb single sim. I got it at an amazing deal so I couldnt pass it up.
according to @Mostar088 here are the differences:
Frd-l09 32gb eu version
frd-l19 64gb eu version
frd-l04 32gb us Version
Frd-al00 China version
When buying a phone designed for a different continent - double check the supported frequencies/bands...
You could regret it when you only have mediocre support for the mobile bands used at your location...

L09 and L19 are dual sim L04 singel sim.

I wonder if u can activate dual sim function on L04 if you flash L09 firmware on it? I know it was possible on P8 Lite and P9 Lite if u crossflash. I dont know if the hardware is the same on L04 and L09?

I had the P8 lite us version and it was dual sim out of the box. I can't believe they are even shipping a single sim unit to the US. Absolute deal breaker for me.
I checked the user guide of L-04 and it says Dual-Sim, can someone verify?

Should be getting mine tomorrow... Insane the amount of misinformation around the 'net, I've seen official Honor support claim the U.S. version (L04) is both single and dual sim. Most reviews refer to it as dual-sim as well...
No dual-sim capability. Not sure why there is such confusion (some legit sources say it supports dual sim).
well i never checked mine, but my FRD-L04 has only one sim toolkit app installed, while my previous honor 7 PLK-L01 had two sim toolkit apps
so i guess it"s a single sim phone
gonna bump...I understand the FRD-L04 is the US version of the Honor 8....that means it will come pre-installed with all the google apps and google play services, etc? I am buying for a friend, and he isn't too phone savvy... thank you.

But both are dual sim hybrid. I want to install the middle-east firmware on hongkong model. Both the middle east and hngkong model are dual sim...

I've been using this Honor 8 as my daily driver for a while now. It is still under warranty.
So I read on this other post about how a new honor 8 the person bought was a FRD-L04 rebranded as FRD-L02. I checked mine and found it rebranded too.
Can someone confirm if all L02 are a version of rebranded L04?
Also, should I wait for the 8.0 OTA or flash L02 ROM from HuRUpdater or rebrand to L09 for OTA?
Will there be VoLTE support if updated through all of these methods?
Yep. Mine is also rebranded L04.
You won't get VoLTE on any openkirin ROMs.
