fitbit charge 2 not pairing - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

As the title states I can't get my fitbit charge 2 to come up on Bluetooth and the fitbit app won't recognize it either. The fitbit is performing perfectly and synced with my tablet due to the honor 6x not pairing with. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks in advance for your help!

This makes no sense to me, but my wife says her fitbit charge 2 didn't want to pair (BLN-L24) until she turned location on.

Thanks for the quick reply, I definitely had location on. I requested a replacement from Amazon before I give up on it.

My fitbit alta pairs normally with honor 6x, its true you need location on, also on my older galaxy s6 the location had to be on

That's good to read. Hoping I just have a bad 6x. Otherwise I think the phone is fantastic for the money spent.

I've been having the same issues. Syncs perfectly with my old one plus one, macbook air. But ever since I got my 6x even when I turn everything on (wifi data Bluetooth location) it simply can't find my charge 2.

Called huawei and there response was they knew it won't work and couldn't give any idea when and if it would work. I returned the phone for a refund. I find it very hard to believe that it's just a software issue. It's a shame because the phone was nice.

That's odd...my wife's been using hers for almost 2 weeks now with no problems with
Honor 6X BLN-L24C567B110
Fitbit Charge 2 FB407SBKS
Too bad they didn't say what the exact issue is...kind of curious.

NFC?

Has anyone got NFC to work?
You have an option of choosing NFC secuity chip by choosing kne of the sim slots
But it does not read any nfc tags
M
I'll admit I had a time trying to get nfc to work. Just sending a picture to my wife (who also has the Mate 8), was a task. I finally got it to work when we took our cases off.

On my AL10 NFC works. I transferred a video I had taken to a friends Samsung phone through NFC and it worked fine. I was running KangVIP B168 at the time but NFC should work on stock as well.

I tried this with another Mate 8, made the 2 Mate 8 "kiss" close to where the camera is. The other phone recognized a tag which it could not read (My Mate 8). That was L29C185B560. I just updated mine to L29C636B563... I tried to NFC with a Windows Phone. No luck.
Pretty pissed now!
I also have a problem with NFC on my Mate 8.
Current firmware L29C636B563, previous firmware tested on L29C636B321 (and maybe L29C636B330)
First off, I was testing this with an LG Washer / Dryer with the "Tag On" logo. The LG Application could not detect the NFC so I will assume the problem is with the phone? Where exactly is this NFC strip they are talking about? No, even after updating to L29C636B563 Nougat OTA Push Update, my Mate 8 will still not work with LG Tag On.
So, I got curious as to whether or not NFC was working to begin with. I live in Canada. It is a very *backwards* country and NFC applications are few and not mainstream. Apple Pay just got introduced... and Android Pay is not even available for download... so... I never really had any use of NFC at all.
Anyway, I have another Mate 8 (not mine). It recently got an OTA push, L29C185B560. At that time, my Mate 8 was still at L29C636B321.
We tried Android Beam... I guess the instruction was to bring the phone close together (in this case - back to back) and both phones will detect each other... then you can tap content to the other phone...
Well... the L29C185B560 (let's call this C185 for short) made a sound and it picked up a tag, but that tag was empty... ?? My phone, the L29C636B321 (let's call this C636 for short) did not do anything at all... it just stared and stared in outerspace....
I also tried to "Share" and then pick "Huawei Beam" and of course, nothing happened between the 2 phones....
I was suddenly discouraged... eeeks! No NFC? I thought this phone was the *super* phone... time to shop for another phone.
Just last week, my C636 got its first OTA update... uhm... only after downloading Firmware Finder... maybe it did something to the settings to correct it...
So, it got updated to C636B330 first, then 2 days later, C636B563 arrived. Yay... Nougat! What bugs are there?
Just 2 days ago, I tried to Beam with a Samsung Galaxy S4. No luck there...
So just this weekend, I tried Beam again... first, just putting the phone together... no luck.
Then, I thought... uhm... so this time, I put the phones together, back to back and then picked a photo on my phone, "Share" and "Huawei Beam".... surprise, surprise... I heard a tone.... I angled my head and saw that my phone recognized a device and I tapped and I guess the other phone, the C185 didn't need to accept the beam, it was already downloading the photo...
So I tried the LG Tag On again... no luck...
Then. I got home and downloaded apps to read my chip enabled Canadian passport (inside and outside the covers) and my Paypass enabled credit card... No... none of the apps detected anything.
To my understanding NFC will "communicate" once detected. No further action. In the experience with Huawei Beam... it seems that an "action" has to be triggered for NFC to activate? Maybe I am wrong and have been wrong all this time?
So, does "reading" an NFC tag also require an action?
What else is broken?
I found some documentation on Huawei Mate 8 NFC. Maybe someone with more experience will be able to explain this occurrence way better? Give us more insight and get it working?
I just bought 10 NFC Tag stickers on eBay, let's see late on if the phone actually reads it....
Thank you for this. I had sworn my NFC was dead, then I took the extra step you mentioned of trying to send a picture using Beam, and that appears to have woken the NFC chip up. I can't believe it's working fine now.
Cheers!

Repair
Same case but i have found the reason.
The nfc antenna is embedded in to top side of back cover.
It's connected not with flex cable, but with spring contacts
2 screws on bottom
open carefully (fingerprint scanner on cover is connected with flexible cable)
adjust spring contacts
clean contacts and contact pads on cover with alcohol or ...
that's all
now it works

Vernee Mars Pro Fingerprint Sensor Broken

I have had this phone for exactly 24 hours, and until then the fingerprint scanner installed in it worked relatively well.
After 24H the sensor decided to activate repeatedly automatically (without me touching the sensor) and finally, stop working.
It will not register any new fingerprints or react to the unlock feature or nothing at all. Rebooting won't fix anything, I have yet to try a hard reset.
My question is, even though the phone is really new, has any of this happened to you guys before?
If so, How have you fixed it?
Thank you and sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Mine arrived yesterday, I will let you know how I get on. Hope you get it sorted.
Off topic: I really want to Root it so that I can use titanium backup but I think its too new! I also ordered a plastic Vernee Mars (not pro) case in the hope that it fits, almost identical dimensions

I hope it works, mine is still broken, and now the audio doesnt work at all, if im playing music for instance, it will not sound, and every now and then, play 0.1s of the song, it's really a good phone but its getting on my nerves
Also, update me about the case
Also wanting an update on the case, dimensions look to be near enough identical and there are more case option around for the non pro.
So, a new update
The fingerprint scanner decided to work suddenly today, I opened security and decided to see if I could add a fingerprint to unlock it and to my surprise it decided to work.
Regarding the speaker, I found out that if I suck on the speaker (yes, i put my mouth on the speaker hole and aspire air gently) the music, app, game, anything begins playing, and as soon as I stop breathing in it stops playing.
Why is this happening to me? It honestly is super strange, I already contacted gearbest and I hope they help me solve it or give me a new one

Hello... May I ask what part of the world you live in? and how long it took GB to send you the phone? I'm on the fence with this device and the Redmi Note 4.. But I must admit.. your situation is really scaring me and giving me 2nd thoughts about going in this direction.. GB I'm sure will take care of you.. but, what is the return policy? do you pay to have it shipped back? and the down time... weeks?

I live in western Europe, and it took GearBest about a month to mail me the phone (It is understandable due to the high demand of the phone at the time) If i'm honest, since this is one of the very first units, I am not surprised it has fails, Its prone to happening and I already was expecting something to fail in a very very new chinese phone.
I will update my experience with GB
Thanks For Your Help..

The case for the mars fits, pretty much perfect. Did you try a hard reset in the end, at all? Mine is working really well although ive heard the phone is compromised by malware/spyware (did manage to find the folder but you can't disable anything) that's why I am trying to root asap. Other thread is here to follow: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tutorial-vernee-mars-pro-root-t3652213
Did post this one in another thread but this one seems better:

I have this device a week and it's great. Directly installed the OTA of September. Everything worked fine.
Up and until yesterday the fingerprint scanner was really sensitive maybe too sensitive. Then yesterday evening the phone was charged to 100% before I went to sleep so I plugged it out and powered it down to be fully loaded at 100% this morning.
After starting up it seems that the fingerprint print scanner is a lot less sensitive and sometimes it feels sensitivity is degrading during the day of use, to just no sensitivity at all.
Does someone else experienced the same? Does someone have a solution?

It doesn't seem to be a software problem, but a hardware problem. For me the fingerprint sensor works for some time, then one day it messes up and stops working for a week or so. I really dont know what's wrong, seems to fix by itself.

Thank, so it is a matter of ups and downs?
I did some gaming while on charge yesterday so maybe some heating can cause this?
I also have some Bluetooth issues while calling on my carkit. Music on my carkit is fine. Will an app like Bluetooth Auto connect be of any help?
Besides that I really like the phone overall.

Yes, it seems to be a matter of ups and downs, same with the speaker. Apparently when the humidity is high, my speaker refuses to work at high volumes ( it crackles and then it stops working)
My charger blew up recently actually (But that was because of some problem with my home's powerline). I got a Samsung charger, slightly slower charge, but my battery now lasts for much longer I have realises (I'm speaking 9V charging instead of 12V)
It is true the phone heats a lot, that's why I'd avoid using it while charging or at least if I plan to charge it all the way, since by the end it will be really hot.
Regarding bluetooth, I really havent had any problems whatsoever, therefore I can't really tell, for me bluetooth has always worked well with cars and speakers and so. I doubt an app like that be of any help, since it should pair automatically with the closest bluetooth source so perhaps that could cause a conflict, but I havent tried it so I can't know for sure.

This morning I took it of the charger. Now fingerprint is quite acceptable. Not that over sensitivity which I disliked, and a lot more responsive than yesterday.[emoji2]

Cheered too early, messed up again... It seems that a moist finger works better. It notice the touch better, but then it doesn't recognizes it....
Bleutooth calling went ok today. Seems though that I have the P20 or P25 lite version of the Mars Pro. Not the regular P2t
Should have chosen the Xiaomi Note 4 Global instead... I will monitor it a couple of days but I think I will look for a better 64gb/6gb USB type-c device in the near future....[emoji19]

Should I buy it?

Hello, I need a new phone and I'm looking at the Nokia 3 because it has an e-compass and gyroscope, sensors that are a must for me.
Sadly most brands are leaving e-compass behind. So I got really exited when I saw that all nokias have it.
So far the only thing that keeps me from buying it are the bugs I read about the phone in this forum and others: screen that doesn't turn on, battery drains, charging that stops at 80%, phone getting slow/choppy, phone that hangs after using the camera.
So I need to ask you this... how serious are those bugs? do you believe they're gonna fix them or they are not doing anything to improve it? is it worth it?
Thanks.

Personally I haven't experienced any of those bugs, the only thing that once happened to me is that once the phone ran down and refused to charge or come on for a while. That said, I'm not sure other phones don't sometimes have similar or worse issues.
Might I ask, why do you need a phone with a compass sensor? Can't you just get a camera app from the play store, or wouldn't such an app work without the sensor?
Anyway bottom line is, the choice is up to you. I believe getting a phone without issues is sometimes a hit and miss situation. Ultimately you'll have to make the decision for yourself. I'm not really sure I can advise you on that. I got my Nokia 3 because I'd always liked the Nokia brand (but couldn't stand the WP os) so this was my way of declaring solidarity with Android on Nokia.
My biggest issue with the phone is the lack of backlight on the navigation buttons, which can be inconvenient in dark places. If that is not a deal breaker for you, you can go ahead and get it, but I'd recommend searching for info on people who have used the compass sensor first

Hi there !
First,I want to say Nokia 3 phone is for me a very good choice :
-have a clean pure android OS without bloats(thats why I am not sure it is a wise choice to root it or unlock boot)
-is a very fast phone if you disable apps you dont need(faster that a rooted debloated Xperia)
-I use MX or FV5 camera for taking very nice photos (at 8Mpx)
-Charging never stops if you know that Nokia 3 have a new protection system for battery-if phone is on charger and you use it a lot on 4g internet the temperature of battery is increasing over normal and automatically is trigged the protection suspending the charge until temperature drop to normal.
So is not a bug,is an enhancement for better battery life.
-If you search the guys who are over complaining you will see they work for competitors of Nokia.Dont forget is a tough competition and there are a lot of high end phones who are not on Oreo update program.Nokia until now keept their promise to deliver monthly updates and upgrades .
Also suspicious is the fact that MTK had double time to deliver drivers but is still delaying.
If you want the best budget phone Nokia 3 is by far the best choice !
All the best !

Hi, I'm using this phone about 2 months, and i had no bugs so far. I didn't tested compass so i can't really tell you about that function. I think that Nokia will fix those "bugs" that other users experienced because they release OTA updates often so you can be sure that you are on latest version. Design of this phone is nice, my friends like it too. Battery life is great for me, it lasts whole day without charging. Sound quality of speakers are ok, i would say average, sound quality through headphones is behind average, but that's my opinion. Customization of this phone is so far good. We have unlocked bootloader, TWRP, SuperSU root and Xposed. I hope that Nokia 3 can have some good Custom ROM. Performance in games are good. I play GTA:SA, Asphalt 8 without bugs in medium settings. Multitasking is ok, i can have 5 apps in background and no apps will be restarted.
I recommend you this phone, i think that it won't disappoint you.
Thanks for your replies!

I use a few astronomy apps regulary, those need e-compass/magnetometer to work. Also I'm a mapper and use a lot the GPS, GPS without compass is only half as useful. Being able to register where you were facing while taking a shot or registering a note is very useful in mapping, astronomy, hiking, etc.

My advice is to buy TA-1032 variant which is European variant and have dual-sim because it have twrp and stock rom in case you bricked your phone.
Other variants are ok too, but only TA-1032 have twrp and stock rom at this moment. I hope that twrp and stock ROMs will be available for all variants.
I'm from argentina so I don't know wich variant i'm gonna find here... I know it is dual sim, but that's all i know about the nokia 3 they are selling here, EDIT: appearently the most common variant here is the TA-1028, very few sellers has it at this time that aren't even official stores and it's not that cheap, they are selling it here for USD 200-270. That's why i'm worried too because probably I can't get any local support.

TA-1028 is single sim, TA-1038 will probably be the dual sim most common. I don't know if Amazon ships to Argentina, if they do and it doesn't cost too much, I think you can get the TA-1032 model there

sellers says it has dual sim :/
Sadly I'm not willing to buy it outside my country because there are high chances that the postal office steal the package when it enters the country. Also import taxes adds up to 50-60% the price, so the risk is worthless. Easily I prefer to pay those USD 200-270 and be 100% sure I'm getting the phone. After all these troubles I need a really trustworthy phone.

Question GPS Issues

Anyone notice inaccurate GPS after the Jan firmware update? Mine use to be fairly accurate and suddenly in Jan the GPS points after a run are now ridiculous. Mark firmware hasn't fixed it.
yes, around the same time, problems with the GPS when recording the route!! In the Maps application or location for the Weather, no problem!
This has been a problem for me since last update, and GPS/activity tracking is the main reason I have this watch! It was "fine" until a few weeks ago when i got my S22 Ultra. Thought it was just poorly set up but I've factory reset both and still an issue. Glad to know it isn't just me, but would be grateful if there is a fix!
The problem hasn't been resolved yet. Support replied that they were investigating the cause. Today, even more, I was convinced that this was a problem with the Samsung Health app on the watch !! Since Google Fit finds the GPS signal after 5-10 seconds!!!

Thanks for that info - It's not just Health app, I've tried Strava, MapMyRun and a few others and none of them could find a signal so pretty useless as an activity tracker! I'll try Google Fit today and see if that works. Interesting Fit works since google maps also works so the GPS on the watch must be fine it's how the location data is shared to non-google apps?
Confirming Strava cannot receive GPS signal!!!

Google Fit pull GPS from phone. Disconnect phone, and you'll see Google Fit has same GPS issue as all the other apps.
I confirm!! If the watch is disconnected from the phone, then the GPS signal is not received !!!
Ohh good call on the phone GPS. We'll, that's a bummer. Hopefully they can get it fixed for the next update... Whenever that may be.
Friends, did you send a report about this problem?
Installed update ***OXM1FVC8 last night and GPS still worthless.
It is necessary to fill up with reports about the problem, Samsung Support can then be fixed! They don't read XDA..
I sent another report that if you disconnect the watch from the phone, the GPS does not work at all!!!
I'm shipping mine back for repair as it's under warranty. Let's see what happens. I received a ticket number and shipping label.

Samsung got watch, said it passed all tests with no problem detected. And they are sending it back. Looks liked I wasted my money buying this over a Garmin.

Great.....
I started a support case with them and after having me turn it off and back on again they said the only option I have is to send it in for repair. I JUST dropped it off at UPS, so sounds like I have 2 weeks with no watch just to get it back the same way it was... bummer. I'll let you know if I hear anything different.

So, they told me that my watch wasn't going to be repaired because the part isn't available. They also can't replace it because there is no stock of watched apparently. I had to call 7 times and spent almost 2 hours on the phone with different people to find this information out. I'm being refunded in theory but through a very convoluted process. I do not recommend anyone send their watch in for a GPS issue!
I sent mine in for the second time and:
1. Received notification it is un-repairable.
2. I called and was told I'd receive a refund.
3. Received email notification with shipping label to send watch in. However, they already have the watch.
4. Called AGAIN, and was told that they process a refund and to look for an email to start the convoluted refund process (check, PayPal or Venmo.)
Unfortunately I won't be able to do that. The watch was bought from an online store, for the South America region. My location is UK... (((
Spent 4 hours off Welsh coast with clear sky's today. Using Wear GPS Fix app to evidence it found 1 satallite. Clearly very broken. Will complain to Samsung

Question Static

So, WHats up guys?
Finally jumped back on the Pixel train and got my 7 Pro last night. After all the fun updates i noticed that when i make a call now, there is a strange opening of a call with a tiny bit of static and then it goes to normal. Anyone else experience this? It doesn't hinder the call in any way, i just found it strange.
PSA
Absolutely loving the phone. Near 24hr after a charge with 24% left but i forgot to check SOT but im sure it was close to 6hrs which is good for me.
I did see one other post that was similar to this. I've never had that issue, and iirc nobody who replied to that post did either.

Hi Avid_droid.
Yes, you are not alone in this regard.
I don't know if it's a coincidence, but my wife threw my cell phone from the table (half a meter more or less), and since then the following happens to me:
I make a call and I hear some interferences, something like "Clack clack", sometimes there are many, sometimes only 1 ... sometimes none ... it's very strange.
However, I think it has nothing to do with the drop... maybe it used to happen to me before and I didn't notice.
Sometimes I can go days without hearing that interference, and I think that everything is fine, but I hear it again. I have restored the phone several times and that does not solve anything.
Fortunately, it's not something that prevents me from making calls or using the phone normally, but when you spend a lot of money on a phone you get screwed by these things.
The bad thing about this is that I have read that if you talk to Google they will send you a refurbished phone, plus you will be 1 week or more with nothing.... I think I'll live with this problem (if it doesn't get worse).

Yeah it doesn't interfere with call or quality it's just odd right? It wasn't there yesterday and today it returned. I think maybe software issue cause I didn't experience it prior to updating.

Yes, it's not the end of the world, but I have to say I'm very disappointed with the overall call quality.
I have an old Huawei mate 20 that has much better call quality than the Pixel, .. and it's a 2018 phone!
Resignation.
Finally, and after a few days in which the problem was more frequent, I have decided to use the google warranty and return it for repair. I've upgraded to an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I guess I'll sell the Pixel 7 Pro if it comes back repaired correctly.

From what I have read, it is ultimately a hardware failure and the only option is replacement.

I replaced my device the other day and best thing I did. No issues as of late.
I have to wait for my cell phone to arrive in POLAND (from Spain) and wait for it to come back... ****ing disgusting.

Yes, mine does this as well. I've noticed it but not paid attention to it til i read this yesterday. I thought it was my Pixel Buds Pro (Which take FOREVER to connect when I take one out of the case to answer a call) - but today I'll try to use the phone itself to answer calls and see if it's still there

Sorry.. I think you are right about this.
I actually think the Pixel 7 Pro looks like a better phone to me than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but I bought one for a bit of a change of scenery.
I really regret it, I will surely return the iPhone 14 Pro Max if the Pixel 7 arrives repaired. I hope so.
After several days in RMA, Google has sent me an email telling me that the phone had an AUDIO problem and that it will be repaired.
Which seems strange to me because the audio in multimedia applications was perfect.... But well, when I have the phone in my hands I will tell you.
Well, the phone has arrived home. So far so good, although I have not tested it too much.
I will keep you informed.
EDIT :
After several calls, the problem continues. I'm throwing in the towel, I'm not going to go another week without a phone. As a bonus, I also have some dirt on the lenses, which I didn't have before.
I'll put up with this interference and strange noises on every call until I send the phone to hell in a few years.

May be a hardware issue. That's what it seemed like with mine. There is no static any more but the small pop is still there. Pop on my Buds Pro and issue is resolved. Now the watch is another piece of bad judgement. I'm on my second one and thank the creator they gave it to me for free. $349 for a watch that sounds like it has a badly blown speaker is hardly worth it. It does what I need it to do though, time and messages.

Latest news, Google is sending me a new terminal.
The truth is that I'm starting to be unconvinced about the purchase, and it is likely that I will end up buying an s23 ultra or similar.

For me now, there is nothing to complain of about the phone. I like mine. My wife has the 23U and I don't like it. It's slows way down and feels like a 60hz phone. Also with the load speeds, I don't like Sammy. I walk around all day withy Pixel 7 Pro and my 13 Pro Max everyday. Didnt like the esim thing either.
