Download resolution changer from play store and set:
Width: 720
Height: 1280
DPI: 310
Reboot
If it's too bad for you,, than change:
Width: 1080
Height: 1920
DPI 460
The battery life and performance will be way better because the hardware use less power.
2560x1440: ~3.600.000 pixels
1920x1080: ~2.000.000 pixels
128px720: ~960.000 pixels
My battery life and performance is WAY better with 720p!
Camera will be bugged, install the latest snap camera (its paid, download from web. In the app thick '"advanced settings" and if you want slow motion, set video to 720p and turn HFR frame rate on. If you want 4k, thick "4k video support" and set video size to 3840x2160 )
If you still want more battery life:
0. Turn on battery saver
1. nstall N0G33K kernel
2. Install kernel toolkit and synapse
3. In kernel toolkit, set voltage: a53 -40000 a57 -30000 (after a reboot it will say 0, but do not change because it still 40000 and 30000)
Set swappiness to 0
4. In Synapse: power aware and HMP enable
If you dont listening music or something with screen off, you can disable all the wakelocks. I think you must enable SSP, SensorHub, and PowerManager to listen music, etc. with screen off.
If it is still bad for you, change a57 to 400-400mhz and a53 to 200-1500mhz
Or if you have to save very very much, change a53 to 200-200. Performance will be stil enough (i didn't believe it, i said wow.. still usable.)

Yes agree here also, be interesting to see how much battery life you actually get by posting your usage, these are a lot of changes, if performance is detrimental, which could possibly be by the look at the cpu scaling you've said. I'd rather avoid major lags and so on.

I dont see any lag, (or i think a little... at hard using with lot of multitask)
Here is the acerage usage
I tested idle screen on time. I was watching my homescreen for 6 mins and 30 secs when 61%->60%

While i wrote the pervius post
1%/3-5mins

Noble experoence v2 with tn stock..and it s port.
No powersaving no underclocking no nothing.no greenify
I get 5 min per 1 percent ..so what you did dsnt help

These are from yesterday..you dont need to do all of that to get good battery. Just use a good combo of rom and kernel

Fb official app,messenger lite, yt , telegram,reddit and xda..those are the apps i use everyday and 9gag
Also changing res dsnt help battery. It s tested
4h for this phone should be easy achievable..idk how some of you get max 2h or 3h sot..i get 3:30h sot even if im on only 4g and i get always low signal..on wifi i always get 5 or more..

Any recommended apps that increase battery life?
So far I only have setCPU.

Yes, but the best part is, you can set it to only lower the cpu clock when the phone is asleep (i.e., when the screen is off). Theoretically you could also overclock it when the screen is on, but not yet on the N1. On the G1/Dream, it was awesome--I overclocked when the screen was on, and underclocked when it was off. It saved battery AND made the phone faster at the same time. Here, it does nothing but save battery--a LOT of battery.
I don't have any problems with the battery.... it lasts me an entire day with pretty liberal use.
I just started using juice defender.. but it seems to slow the phone down at times... does anyone know of a similar app that is maybe more efficient

Power manager and set cpu work for me. Power manager hasn't been updated in a while, but its still works and its pretty easy to use. Alternately, you can use Tasker, it has a high learning curve but once you get it, you'll get an entirely different level of performance from your phone.

Actually you can overclock n1 when screen is on, it is set at 998 stock, but it can go higher 1113 is stable. But it depends on your kernel. I use 245/652 when screen is off, 384/1036 when on.

Nice, it's more like a function to do than a app to utilize, fail.

I've always read in the past that the app doesnt actually help with battery life because its purpose was for OCing and Android regulates the cpu clocks already.
So I'm wondering, for those currently using it, have you noticed any difference in battery life (without underclocking while in use)? and if so what profiles are you using?

I have just one profile, screen off= 216/216. I'm now on 14 hours with 30% left. Much better than before, when I was getting 11 hours at the most.
I also use the battery calibration app. But that's all I've done.
Just want to add I use wifi calling, and I run everything else, gps and syncing gmail and facebook is on. Screen is set to auto brightness. The only thing I have off is bluetooth.

Android does regulate the cpu, but I don't think it will take advantage of more conservative governor modes unless you tell it to. That's only relevant if the kernel supports more conservative governor modes. And, as the other responses have pointed out, you can force Android to be more conservative by capping the max clock speed.

when i go into setcpu there are alot of options to choose there is no auto detect like on my mytouch 4g. how did you guys get it to work. i picked the last option which was custom and it forced close on me.

Yeah.. When I hit the tegra 2 option it wont let me change the governor.
You need to be rooted so that you can let set CPU have super user access. Are you rooted yet?

I think that that means that the kernel is not supported for the "automatic" governors. However, you can still create profiles to regulate the CPU based on perameters that you set, i.e. Screen off 216/216

So all G2x see the same in setcpu - no autodetect and only governor available is "driver"?
Will custom ROMs like CM7 change this?
SetCPU improved my battery life tremendously! Before I was losing about 15-30% and hour, since 8:30 this morning my battery only dropped to 73%. I set my active profile between 457mhz and 816mhz depending on remaining battery and it's still fast as hell.

From what I've heard, yes, that is what every g2x setcpu user sees. I don't know whether CM7 will fix this, or maybe later versions of setcpu

Once we get some custom kernels, we should be able to change the governors in setCPU, dependent upon on what the kernel supports.
SetCPU Custom Frequencies for G2X
I got SetCPU today and was playing around with it and it looked like it was limiting my CPU all the time due to lack of profile, not just when I had the screen off per my profile so I looked into making a text file for custom frequencies and am posting it here since there doesn't seem to be any help for g2x with it.
This is a really simple file, tell me if you guys have any better ideas, I just put in:
216000,528000,712400,1000000
I'm attaching it. I put the file in my dropbox, grabbed it via the app and then moved it to /sdcard/setcpu.txt via astro file manager then loaded custom profile from within setcpu. Hopefully this saves someone some time or you can tell me if I'm going about this the wrong way
I'm sure it could be fine tuned more but I was getting irritated at how much of a pain it was to unlock the phone with it set too low, so for screen off I have it set to 216->528. You could add 254000 in or something. The phone seems to be as usable as before now with setcpu enabled like this while it should be limiting the cpu when the screen is off. It sucked (well not the battery) without a custom profile.

Yep, I agree. My phone has been off the charger for almost 9 hours, and I'm at 70%.
I have everything on, including wifi calling, and one profile in Setcpu for screen off 216/216.
Also used the battery calibration app.

Im assuming u did little to no use. I did moderate use and im down to 52% after 4hrs

I tried that 216/216 profile and got the sleep of death followed by reboot loop every few minutes after the phone booted. wouldn't stop till I manually powered the phone down then back on. oh well... my phone idles fine anyway. wonder what clock speed android idles at by default.

Actually, your assumption is wrong, as is often the case.
I'd quantify it more as normal use. Lots of texts, some games of Pro pool, a few phone calls, checking Pulse 3-4 times during the day for 10 minutes at a time, some mild web browsing and watching a few youtube videos.
I ended up at around 18-19 hours of of use.
Today, I'm off the charger for 8 hours, and I still have 45% left, and I would say that's with some moderate to heavy use.

Try upping it to 216/312 or a tad higher and you should be fine.

[Q] Battery Life

Ive been using Lithium v1.2.1 and recently flashed to 1.3 and i have been experiencing worse battery life than i had on the stock rom...any roms any of you have used that have outstanding battery life?

give it a few charge cycles. often the battery stats are just screwed up after a new rom. If it is still bad in a few days, then something may be wrong.

Okay, so I've been running Lithium v1.3 for several weeks now, and even with an added overclock and other tweaks, I still have pretty darn good battery life with moderate to heavy usage. I can get a full day's charge running at 1.25 GHz and emailing/texting/calling/gaming throughout the day. Just updating concerns from the OP with my own experiences while running this awesome rom! :good:

can atrix 2 be overclock to 1.2 ghz without any issues nd how much further can it be overclock before it become unstable?

you haven't mentioned how many hrs you got in stock or how much less you getting in other ROMs
I am using stock ROM, 55% is enuf for me to go 12hrs which includes 4hrs of whatsapp, 2-3 hrs of gaming, continous gprs usage, 2 hrs of wifi tethering . a fullcharge once gave me 24hrs plus... I am very happy with the stock ROM

do u have a extended battery or have underclock ur processor ....cause seriously i doubt thats even a possible figure lol with 1500mah battery my lg optimus one was running just 7 hours before it died.....with totally heavy usage
what game where u running ....was it some heavy game like nova ...dead space or small time killer??
cause when i play dead space for 2 hours my battery drip to 50% from 100% on stock rom with gprs on

no extended battery for me, i just bought the phone a week back. no extra accessories.. just stock ROM, stock phone and stock charger/battery.
the game i played for 2-2,5hrs was stick cricket, then i played Extreme Skating and Pro Zombie Soccer for 30 min. Today i played Sims 3 for an hour and that took 10% of my battery. I switched on Mobile Hotspot in my phone and used its GPRS on my laptop(tethered) for an hour, that also took 9-10%.
btw, my prev phone was an LG OP1 . Let me know if you want me to check anything else.

it depends from phone to phone yes some of them run stable 1.2ghz i myself run stable 1.32 ghz but there are rumours maimum is 1.375 ghz give it a try

than i gues i have issues with battery ....what a coincidence even i got my atrix 2 a week back.....though it was a replacement
We use tekahuna's milestone overclock modules for overclocking.
Changing the cpu speed involves echoing the desired table entry into the /proc/overclock/mpu_opps entry as root.
ie:

echo 3 1250000000 1375000 > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
3 would be cpu slot 3 (3 is the highest on the atrix 2 typically set to 1ghz)
1250000000 is the desired frequency in hertz (1250 with six more zeroes at the end)
and 1375000 is the desired voltage in microvolts (1.375v). Tekahuna has said that 1.4v is the highest that these modules can push this. In my experience, that's not enough extra voltage to make a big difference in max overclock speed.
I recommend extensive testing of an overclock before you alter the init scripts to match. (well if you're using a rom with init built in)

As answersamir stated, it realty depends on the phone. I've clocked as high as 1.3GHz stably but don't really need that high of a clock speed, so I scaled back to 1.25GHz with underclock at 240MHz at echo 0. You'll just have to experiment without the echo 3 settings in the init.d folder making slow (100MHz) incremental jumps to see where your phone can run stable before random reboots or freezing occurs... after changing settings, reboot each time, and run for a while at the new clock speed to test.

use Battery Monitor Widget, charge the phone till you see 100% in that app, A2 shows charge in multiples of 10, so 100% in A2 battery means it reached 95%. Via the BMW app, you can add a widget to your homescreen in counts of 1% so you will see real battery %. Also it will show mAh, so when you charge untill it reaches 100% or 1740/1740mAh then only stop charging. You can see battery graphs and all that.
Hope yours is set to Settings->Battery $ data manager ->Battery mode -> Night-tiime saver

Here's a simple step-by-step for overclocking:
Open Root Explorer or download HERE
Navigate to: system>etc>init.d then select the Oc3 with Text Editor
Find the echo 3 value that reads: echo 3 1125000000 61 > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
Then, using the text editor in Root Explorer, change the echo 3 value from 1125000000 to *up to 1200000000 or even higher. (see note below!)
Hit the "back button" and Root Explorer will ask you to save changes. Confirm the changes, and reboot.
After rebooting, open SetCPU and you will see your changes there.
*You can experiment with your clock speed, and a good rule of thumb is to bump up slowly, rather than making large jumps all at once. Start by going from 1125 to 1150 and reboot. Then, if all is well and you've ran at this higher clock speed for a good 5 to 10 minutes, do the above listed process again and go from 1150 to 1175, and so on until you reach your highest stable overclock speed.

Find the echo 3 value that reads: echo 3 1125000000 61 > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
Then, using the text editor in Root Explorer, change the echo 3 value from 1125000000 to *up to 1200000000 or even higher. (see note below!)
Hit the "back button" and Root Explorer will ask you to save changes. Confirm the changes, and reboot.
After rebooting, open SetCPU and you will see your changes there.
*You can experiment with your clock speed, and a good rule of thumb is to bump up slowly, rather than making large jumps all at once. Start by going from 1125 to 1150 and reboot. Then, if all is well and you've ran at this higher clock speed for a good 5 to 10 minutes, do the above listed process again and go from 1150 to 1175, and so on until you reach your highest stable overclock speed.

You can also underclock in the same way, by changing the echo 0 values. I set mine to underclock to 240MHz at echo 0. Also, using SetCPU you can change the CPU mode (which, you probably already know) from mot_hotplug to performance to ondemand, etc. Experimenting with these settings can either improve or decrease your battery life with the new overclocked speed.

OxygenOS 9.0.2, and latest blu_spark kernel with blu_schedutil governor, i can go around 9h SOT, but in normal daily usage i get around 5h30 with 36h standby, you gotta watch what's running on your phone

One thing i saw is you start to get good battery life when you don't think about it anymore Just stock, with maybe a custom kernel (blu_spark and Franco are amazing), and you get very good results !
By the way, regarding your OP, on LG G3, is always used it at 1080p instead of 1440p. It was smoother (the S801 had trouble at this time), but battery was exactly the same ! You shouldn't worry about it, Snapdragon 625 devices drive 1080p without problems.

I agree. When you think about it too much I think you set high expectations and when they are not met, you feel as though your phone has terrible battery life. I used to think 3.5-4 hrs SOT was really bad for a modern phone but that very comfortably gets me through my normal day. So I'm happy with that kind of performance since I charge up once every 18-30 hours.

Exactly. And tweaking too much sometimes have a negative effect.
And when i forget about it, i find that the battery life is almost always better after 3-4 days on "normal use", and by that i mean not using the phone with battery in mind. Ex : Browsing Facebook for 5mn and killing the app vs using it for 10 or 15mn, answering two emails, and locking the phone ... At the end of the day, the second scenario corresponds to an average of 1h more SOT, but battery is only 3/4% less, so in fact, stats are way better ... Killing apps, underclocking, preventing background activity ... All of this gives more battery in very specific situations, but in normal usage, it kills it (taks take longer, apps refresh with 10x more work when you open them, some like Facebook freak out when restricted by things like Greenify ...).
In short : Let the device do it's thing, maybe just cut things you'll never use or don't want (Bloat, services, ect), maybe switch kernels without tweaking too much, then forget about it.

Battery needs optimization

After 7 days of with the phone in my pocket, I think battery needs some serious optimization. Compared to my previous device Redmi note 6 pro on 4000mah had a lot better battery than Mi note 10 at 5260mah. Battery is draining like too fast. I'm on xiaomi eu btw.
I sincerely hope Xiaomi fixes this battery issue with a firmware update. A 5000+mah battery with a mid tier chipset should give phenomenal life.
I think we should get together and make some noise to get Xiaomi to address this. Tech reviewers are blaming the UI
I must agree on this. The battery life leaves a lot to be desired. Thought it would be amazing, but it's only marginally better than my old Nokia 7 Plus.. And the battery in that one is 3800mah.

Yeah after rooting i did some digging. There is some kernel optimisation needed.
Example: Min freq is not set to 300mhz but to 5xx mhz. Also there is some kind of cpu boost enbled (i wasnt yet able to disable it) which is way too agressive, this also causes the min freq to get stuck at 13xx mhz. This cna only be solved by rebooting

Do you suggest taking parameters for this? Or just wait for a Major update?
Actually I am impressed by how long the battery lasts on my Mi note 10
Using it basically no stop, with screen on 90% if the timer and using GPS, chats and emails and more, in the evening I still have not less than 40%

Interesting discovery. While snooping around I found these posts talking about the Pixel 3 and OnePlus 6 that also idle at 576mhz. Both use the Snapdragon 845 though

Not sure if i 100% understand what you mean. But i tried to change parameters with FK and the values do not really get saved.

Yeah exactly. But thats not that big problem, if you watch your CPU Stats you can see your idle freq get stuck at 13xx for both clusters. Thats quite high for idling. Also did look into the released kernel source, but couldnt find the problem
Not the biggest fan of things like LKT, but in this case it works. Sets the cpu to 300mhz and gets rid of the 12xxmhz boost! if any one want to try it aswell
Your phones guys have really some problems. Mine is rooted and twrp. Updated. The rest is all stock. Yesterday I used it like crazy. Google map for about 2.5 hours, screen during the day basically always on cause I use whatsapp for work. I also spent 1 hour playing a game. In the evening I had 41% battery.
This phone have a monster battery! Amazing!

I would like to feel the same optimism that you feel, but until now, I cannot. I got my phone 2 days ago, 2 full charges, one gave me 8h of SOT and the other 7h of SOT. There is something wrong here. I had more battery life with the Pocophone I had than with Mi note 10. Let's see if in a future update it gets better

I mean yes it has good battery life and i can get easily 2 days. But its a 5xxx mah battery. It can last longer. Its like upgraing from 1liter to 2liters but only using 1.5 Liters.

Thinking about it, 4000mah sounds right. The Oppo Reno2 has a 4000mah battery, uses the same 730G chipset and has about the same screen size.
The GSMarena endurance test gave the Oppo Reno2 a 102hr endurance rating.
The Mi Note 10 scored 95hrs endurance rating.
I think we've been duped here

Forgot to mention there is a crazy battery drain at night for no reason like 10% down (Flight mode on, only alarm set on) .

yes. any xiaomi device It has that. The only option is the force setting set min. 300mhz on APK like ex Kernel menager. And turning off boost Touch
Check mi room or miuimix rom based on China dev. I use mi Rom on cc9 and k20 pro. The battery is much better than xiaomi.eu
