System update for galaxy S6 SM-G920F - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone
I have a galaxy S6 G920F and when I enter in the setting option, I can't find the "system update" menu. I'm on 5.1.1 (lollipop) version now and I want to jump to Marshmallow while waiting if nougat will be available in my device.
How can I get the system update without using odin or having to flash my smartphone?
Thank you in advance

[Completed] Is Something wrong with my Galaxy S5? (Update Related)

Hi
So I was rooted, and I heard about the bug fixes for the new update Lollipop 5.1.1, so I decided to unroot and install the update through Samsung Kies.
But, I am really confused. After the update completes, on Kies and when I click, "Update Now" it says I have the latest version. But then I look under "About Phone" and it shows "Android Version: 5.0".
Is this normal? Does it not show 5.1.1? The update didn't fail, it said it was applied successfully. And when I go into Download Mode (Odin Mode) it shows I have the Samsung Default Binary and the Official Version, etc. etc.
So,
Was it supposed to just show 5.0? Is it actually 5.1.1?
Thanks in advance,
-Red

Hi there,
Nothing looks wrong, just looks like Sprint is keeping you on 5.0 for now...
The Android 5.0 update for Galaxy S5 owners with Sprint (model number SM-G900P) can now be downloaded OTA. To see if the update is waiting for you, just go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.

Hope this helps.

[Q] Stop/Prevent S6 on 5.1.1 checking/downloading software updates?

Is there a way to stop/prevent the S6 (SM-G920F) currently on 5.1.1 from checking and downloading software updates?
I do not want to update to 6.0.1 yet, and yes, I have already disabled the 'Auto update' option in the 'Software Update' menu but somehow, annoyingly, it still does check and download the software update.
Help, please!

Create a shortcut of the apks you want to install on the main screen, disable any lockscreen security and reboot. The second it is back on quickly unlock and let the icons load on the main screen and quickly press the apk you want to install. This avoids the package name confliction.
This also helps thanks to Kyle Edge from Google Plus

how to choose the official oreo rom for s7 edge

i am new here and i am in delima as a friend of mine gave me a s7 edge and it was on android version 6.0. i tried the system update but it says the system is up to date which is not possible as oreo for s7 is already released . as this phone will be my daily driver so i want it to have stable latest oreo and i tried to install it manually but i am confused as there are so many versions of oreo for s7 edge. my model is SM-G935T and it is unlocked. i tried to find it in sites like updato but it shows different pda numbers . so what should i check in order to choose the best custome rom. does pda matter in choosing android version for an unlocked phone? help me please.

Just because there are updates available for the S7 doesn't mean that all S7 devices get the update. It depends on the original carrier/network the device was distributed by and whether they pushed the update to the S7 devices on their network.
You can try manually downloading the update and then flash it via Odin. To find the updates for your device, go to Sammobile .com or samsung-updates .com, then use your devices model number to find the list of stock firmware for your device. Find the newest version for your region.
