Help!! Galaxy s7 won't boot ; System status: CUSTOM - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi, I really need some help with my s7. As of recently my s7 just randomly stopped booting and got stuck with the blue LED notification light still on. I tried everything to get it to boot but it never did. I can get to the recovery menu so I tried flashing a stock room via ODIN off of Sammobile. It still wouldn't boot and the system status changed to (system status: custom).
Now I've fixed this issue before and what I did last time was I flashed a stock rom and then used Kies and / or Smart switch and the Firmware upgrade and Initialisation which changed it from custom back to official and it finally would boot. However, that is not working this time. I've tried 3 different stock roms including UAE 6.01 / UAE 7.0 / UK 6.01 and I've tried using kies and smart switch a million times to no avail. I don't remember if I turned on developer options last time or not but either way I can't get the phone to boot now.
I live in Japan and I imported this phone so If i can't find a solution on these boards I'm out $750. I'll try anything, I'm desperate to get this damn thing working again. Please help , you guys are my only hope.
Here is some info about the phone and what it says:
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G930F
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
FAP Lock: OFF
AP:G930FXXU1BPJG
CP:G930FXXU1BPJG
CSC:G930FOJV1BPK1
Model:SM-G930F

Also, when I use KIES or Smartswitch it says,
Initialised version: PDALB / CSC: PK2 / PHONEJJ (AFR)

Hi, I tried installing TWRP but I still can't get into the recovery mode. Only the download mode. Do you access TWRP recovery via the same key method as the regular recovery mode? Volume up, home, and power, in my case? I try volume up, home, and power but nothing happens. The only keys that work are volume down, home and power to access download mode.

you could very well have a bad phone as this has happened to you before.

If you could get to download mode, you could use ODIN to install stock Samsung firmware

Hi, I've tried installing stock firmware from Sammobile's website. I tried various firmware's that I though would fit my phone but no luck so far. Is there a way to tell for sure what firmware to use and if so can you tell me which?

You could base the firmware on what region you bought the phone from, for instance, I bought my S7 here in Southeast Asia, thus I have the G930FD variant.

Hi, i have got exactly same problem, did you find any solution for this..?
i have tried all available methods on internet, but no luck..

https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7/SM-G930F/AFR/download/G930FXXU1BPJG/111891
Use Odin version that matches, Samsung cable and usb 2.0 if possible.
If it's issue to get to download mode then press three buttons used to get to recovery but switch to vol up when screen turns off and hold
Likely will need to wipe data with CSC
Deselect auto reboot before flashing firmware then boot back into download and use odin to either reflash firmware again then boot or flash recovery to boot into and factory reset (I think android stock recovery does on boot after retirning to stock in odin). I find sometimes it takes a couple tries in odin to stick at least with modems and BL. Maybe remove micro SD beforehand too, corrupt data can do weird things on boot.

(sOLVED) my note is stuck on Samsung boot screen!!

i upgraded my note N8000 via odin mobile pro with success and everything was smooth and the root was not intact
I tried to flash a theme via mobile odin but was not success, but note was still ok
then 2 days later I tried to enter the recovery mode , i found the note stuck on samsung boot screen and dose not reboot, I can enter download mode but can not enter recovery mode to reflash even the stock rom
what to do?
should i reflash the CWM as 1st time? then reflash the root if i found it is gone?
or i have to reflash the stock rom first via odin desk top since i can not reboot the note? problem is the stock rom is on the note and do not have it on PC
the note now is on Samsung boot screen, how to turn it off since note can not remove the battery?
EDIT 1::good:
Flashed a stock recovery via odin desk top, and rebooted
Note is back alive , no wipes, every thing still there, root still here
Rebooted once again with success
rebooted into recovery (stock since I lost my CWM) with success
EDIT 2
Flashed CWM and my note is back for my modifications

sorry, my mistake, flashing the stock rom will not delete your stuff, just be sure to flash the same rom or higher, not lower one
So, I tried flashing the stock recovery and that did not work. And then I tried flashing the stock rom (multiple times with different roms) and that did not work either. My tablet is still stuck on the screen that says "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1". Do you have any other suggestions?

My Note 10.1 N8013 was rooted, had TWRP, and Cyanogenmod 10.2 Nightly on it. I hadn't touched it in two days and went to turn it on. It wouldn't turn on, so I assumed it was dead. I charge it overnight and try to turn it on in the morning, but it just goes into a boot loop. The tablet says "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" and stays that way until it dies. If I boot into recovery mode, the Teamwin (TWRP) title screen pops up and then immediately disappears. The tablet then shows the battery loading icon if it is plugged in. The icon shows up, then disappears and the shows up again and repeats this a few times. I could only boot into download mode successfully.
I have tried flashing different stock roms and recoveries through odin, including the one that you have linked on here. None of them have worked. I have also tried repartitioning the tablet, which passed on Odin, but did not solve the problem.
Other forums say that I should do a factory reset or wipe the data, but I do not know how to do this without being able to boot into recovery or the OS itself.
Thanks
P.S. I also brought it to Best Buy to see if the Samsung guy could reflash the stock rom, but his rom did not work either. They are all passing on Odin, so it isn't an error in that case.
I read that a lot of people got problems with Cyano roms. I did not like it and never used it, sorry can not help you

Could it be because of the Cyanogen rom? I didn't update recently... I probably updated it a week before it died. Would you happen to know how to do a factory reset / wipe the data from the tablet, if I can't get into recovery mode or the OS?
I don't think that there is any other way, sorry about that.
try to put your problem in the Cyano rom thread, may others had the same and solved it
Ok thank you
Let me know if you get it fixed
Hi kyleschepis,
Let me know if you find a solution. I have a very similar issue . . . the difference is, I am not using a custom ROM. I have the stock ROM that came with the GT-N8013.
My issue started about 5 days ago. My Galaxy Note had been having occasional issues with the external SD card. A warning would appear saying that the SD card had been removed, and a couple of seconds later it would re-mount and every thing was fine.
But 5 days ago, I picked up my note and turned the screen on (it was already started) and noticed the warning message while the screen was still locked. Then, as the second message was still being displayed letting me know that the SD card had been mounted, I swipe the screen to unlock. But instead of unlocking, my Note completely rebooted. It got as far as the logo screen (displaying "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1"), but would go no further.
I am able to get into the Odin download mode but cannot get into recovery mode no matter what I do/
I have tried re-flashing the stock ROM ("KIES_HOME_N8013UEUCMI3_N8013XARCMI3_813049_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5") several times, as well as trying to install customer recovery modes like CWM and TWRP, as well as the stock recovery. But the power + volume up combination does not get me into recovery mode. Even if, as many have suggested, I continue holding the button combination until the logo screen displays a second or a third time.
I have been without my Note for 5 days now, and I use it for everything. So, any help I can get would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

I have the same problem. I was just playing a game when it suddenly turned off and went to the boot screen. Also tried installing N8000XXUDNE5_N8000OLBDNE3_N8000DXUDND1_HOME.tar.md5 (success but also didn't work). Still stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" screen.
Also can't access recovery, or do a wipe before installing firmware (I think USB debugging isn't turned on).
Did you find any solutions yet?
Thanks.

[Q] Changing CSC after ver 4.2.X

Recently I replaced our GS4's with new GS5's from Sprint. I rooted all 3 and am currently running stock odexed NK4.
2 of the 3 phones boot with the Sprint Logo and the Spark splash screen, but one of the phones only starts with the international version Samsung screen.
I've tried installing the ROM through odin several times but nothing changed.
Looking into why this was occurring I found that one of the phones CSC is XAS and the 2 phones that start with the Sprint screens are SPR
I've tried changing the CSC with a few App's but none of them work, most of the App's indicate that they won't work past Android 4.2.X, and of course these phones are 4.4.4
Any help would be appreciated.
SOLVED - I had to install a full TAR through Odin, allowed it to boot after the initial recovery ran, pulled the battery before the phone booted into the ROM, then I booted into the stock recovery, Wiped user data and Factory Reset, turned off phone, booted into Download mode, installed the full TAR again through Odin. This time when the phone booted back into the stock recovery it reported the CSC as SPR.
YAY!

My S7 Duos is totally unresponsive, black screen but blue LED is on

I had my phone just sitting on a wireless charger this morning and had been there for about 15-30 minutes. I noticed it was rebooting, odd I thought? I took it off and then realized it was going into a boot loop. I gave it a soft reset and then it would turn on and stay on for about 10 seconds before boot looping again. I again gave it a soft reset after a couple loops and now it seems to totally dead, as the title implies.
No button combination has worked and I've held them all down for well over 30 seconds each. I've tried plugging it into my PC and haven't gotten any response that way. The blue LED is on so I know it's not dead...I think? To make matters worse, I bought this phone off Craigslist about 5 months ago and it's the Exynos version so I definitely can't get any kind of warranty on it. I'm hoping someone has had this problem and can help or just has some advice. Thanks everyone.
EDIT: To keep this updated, I have been able to get into Odin Mode and have tried to flash stock firmware. Odin says everything went fine but the phone hangs up at the Samsung Galaxy S7 logo. I'm unable to boot into recovery mode and I've even tried to reinstall TWRP with Odin and that has not worked.
Seen the LED only problem before, waiting for the battery to drain and the phone to turn off seems to be the only known cure atm
Once it does, connect the charger for 15 mins, then boot directly into recovery and clear caches to try fix the bootloop, possible it may need factory resetting / clean flash of stock ROM
Using the MicroUSB > USB white adapter, you may be able to connect a power hungry USB peripheral to the phone to drain the battery faster, I use a USB desktop fan, but some people report it not working when it is stuck in this LED loop and have just had to wait it out
Thanks for that advice, I'll let it drain over night. However, I have been able to get it to boot into Odin Mode and Odin v.3 recognized it. I flashed the stock firmware but upon rebooting nothing happened and now it gets stuck at the Samsung logo screen. I can still get it back into Odin mode, which I believe will be the fastest way to kill the battery, but I find it odd that I can get into that but not recovery? I am rooted and have TWRP installed, if that matters at all.
If you can get into Download (ODIN) mode, then letting the battery drain probably won't help, that only seems to help when the phone is completely stuck with nothing but the LED working
Make sure you flash CSC (Not HOME_CSC) along with the other 3 sections of the ROM, using ODIN 3.12.3, that should factory reset the phone after the flash
If you successfully flashed stock with ODIN already, you are no longer rooted and do not have TWRP installed, flashing stock with ODIN replaces all that with stock
I updated Odin and once again tried to flash the 4 parts, making sure I used the right CSC file, but I'm still getting hung up at the Samsung Galaxy S7 logo. Do you have a suggestion as to which region's firmware I should use? I have been trying the Australia one from SamMobile's site.
EDIT: And to clarify, I have the G930FD(the duos one).

[Completed] Help Flashing stock firmware on Note 5

Hello, I have a note 5 that is currently stuck in a boot loop. I am not 100% sure how it go into this state, it is a customers phone. I am able to access Odin Mode, and Recovery but am not able to run factory reset or boot into bootloader. In Odin mode I have downloaded stock software from US Cellulars website, I'm not sure if it matters which version I select? There is a couple for 6.0, I assume just different release dates? The flash completes successfully, or atleast it appears to. The phone reboots but will only show Samsung logo then boot into recovery. I've tried different stock software, and different cables with pretty much the same result. Sometimes it will boot into android system update, but fails about 25% and reboots. Do I have any other options? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hi !
I want you to be sure that you have flashed the correct firmware for your device variant

Good luck !

I need some help with a sm-g930f that wont boot ANY stock rom. Just boot loops.

So im trying to fix a freinds phone. He said it randomly shut off and started bootlooping on the samsung screen. So I flashed the same firmware using odin. It succeded restarted and still does the same exact thing?
No matter what I do I cannot get this damn phone to boot up. After holding vol down and power to soft reset it goes to a screen with a triangle and says installing update then to no command. If i soft reset then hold vol down and home with power download mode will come up. I cant get this phone to go into recovery the combination just brings me to the triangle screen. Maintenance mode wont even come up the triangle screen shows instead. I have knowledge of odin and flashing. Ive been flashing since the motorola cliq lol But this is making me scratch my head...Any ideas?
I want to add that when it freezes at the samsung logo the logo corrupts and gets black lines through it then restarts several seconds after?
Are you flashing all 4 firmware files with Odin or just AP?
Of course I am. I even went ahead and flashed another "non carrier" firmware to see if it made a difference and no luck.
BL
AP
CP
Home_CSC, I flashed the CSC when flashing a different firmware.
By the books and nothing seems to get this phone booting.
Have you tried just normal CSC? Home_CSC keeps data, it's basically acts as an in place upgrade rather than a fresh image.
If you're having issues you'll want a full clean wipe which means using CSC.
When trying a new firmware I flashed the "CSC" because it contains the pit file. So yes I have and that didn't work either.
The phone gets to download mode which tells me its not a brick. Still says "samsung official". FRP lock is off.
And just waiting it out doesn't work? Flashing from a custom Nougat ROM to stock Oreo was like 10+ minutes on the Samsung logo for me.
No as I said in op it always freezes at the Samsung logo over and over and over again.
My best guess is the system partition is corrupt and is un-repairable or the hardware was defect from the factory...but the phone has been In use for 2 years flawlessly...besides that it still boots up Odin(download) mode....so... Does anyone have any idea wtf is going on with this phone? Because anything I do just won't boot it normally. I can't root it and try a custom rom because "OEM unlock" isn't enabled. So WTF?
Please does anyone have any idea what is going on here?
I had some luck with getting it to the bootloader by using odin to flash the corresponding BL file. Then I flashed a combination file obtained from hardreset. But I am still stuck bypassing the FRP lock myself. Either I flash stock rom or firmware with ADB. It always get an error cllose to the end. Or the flash finished and the warning message is still there and I couldn't get pass the google authorisation stage.
