Every other phone I've had contained the ability to switch off the charging LED. I can't find any such setting.
Am I just tired and missing something, or is it a suggestion I need to pass on to the Huawei team?
To be honest, I never stumbled upon such an option in the phones I possessed until now.
But could it be a solution to simply turn it upside down? The you would barely notice it in the dark.
They fixed this with the new line. Still hope there was solution for Mate 9

Hey guys,
This forum has been wonderful for me so I thought I would pass along my own personal experience with a couple of items.
First 'the Clip' case - great - I love mine. For those that have had concerns about the main home/back/menu/search buttons not being lighted, the clip is perfect for helping to find these keys. If you insert your tablet camera up (not upside down to uncover the usb port), the right hand clip is the perfect tactile way to find menu (just above) and back (just below). A good way to navigate these buttons in darker settings.
Second - the static/hissing/white noise problem people have experienced. I know several people have indicated it is a hardware problem and to replace your tablet, that was not an option for me as it did not start until after the 30 day return period. I have found, however, that if you set your screen to NEVER sleep and instead use the power buton to put the screen to sleep, it cuts down on the occurences significantly. Additionally, if it does happen (it has happened twice in the last week), it recovers for itself. You get the noise for ONLY the existing sound that is supposed to be playing and the next sound (whether it is a feedback sound, a notification, etc), it will have corrected itself. At least that's what my experience has been.
To all the developers out there (and especially roebeet) - thanks for everything, I love this tablet due to your hard work. I am running TnT lite 4.2.5 and am very happy with it.
how do you get the screen to never sleep?
Go to settings, display, screen timeout and set to never.

I understand you in regard of this XD i've been having this sound problem, but bought mine overseas (i'm from Chile) and my brother threw the boxing into the trash, so doubt that there is a cheap way to replace mine .
Do you prefer some ROM in particular? Now i'm toying with VEGAn 7, but i can't play more than 2 or 3 mp3 songs without getting sound off, i'll try your "fix" to see if the situation improves

hmm.. I guess VeganTAB 5.1.1 doesn't have that option.. bummer..
i had to change the tablet language to english to find that option for some reason
So now lets talk real world experience of the phone interface
When it blanks the phone buttons seem to operate...
I mean a number of occasions I have lost people because I have mysteriously put them on hold...with the phone to my ear.
People are always complaining to me that I am quiet even though the phone is in the correct place on my face and incall volume is at max
Often I cannot pick up calls ...I hit the answer icon to no avail...if I flick it upscreen it works but pressing the icon is only recognised intermittently
What is it like for you?

have to tried to factory data reset the phone to see if that helps?
This is called the incall/proximity sensor issue and the reasons have not yet been found by xda people.
There are few fixing attempts available though which involve different strategies.
Someone lately suggested to the ViperOne team to make a tweak that allows for automatically locking the phone on call pick up as a permanent workaround fix. There was no developer response on this yet though. Its a good idea though.
The same sensor is causing another issue which is quite frustrating. On some occasions the normal method of simulated battery pull (press power for more than 15 seconds to force reboot) does not do anything unless shining a really bright light into the sensor. Apparently the prox sensor, not the light sensor.
It seems there are a few units out there which have issues with this sensor.
Another theory is that its jut the user tilting the phone until it recognizes landscape orientation and then the sensor is switched off...
Hello,
First post here, looking for some help.
I just updated my At&T Galaxy Note 8 to Oreo, and with Oreo has come a very strange problem where the color of the screen is very red. It is definitely a software problem, as the correct color balance is there for a couple seconds after booting, then the red comes back. This has lead me to believe it is a problem with the blue light filter being unable to be turned off. The switch is settings is definitely off, and I even tried using Adhell 2 to completely disable it, but have had no luck. I've also revoked the permission to use screen overlays of all my apps that had it and that didn't help either.
If anyone has any ideas how to get my whites back to being white, I'd appreciate it greatly!
I'm having the same problem. Also my notifications aren't showing on any of my apps until I open them. I read something about the blue light application being turned off. I made sure my location is turned on and blue light still is stuck on.

i am having the exact same problem as well. same situation just i have a tmobil phone. i tried to disable the blue light filter with the bk manager to no luck .
my wife who has a note 8 as well has not updated and when compared side by side my phone has the blue light filter stuck on with the minimum opacity. i can still turn on the filter it just makes it even more incredibly red. i sadly do not have any advice to offer and hope there will be a hot fix soon.
To all who are suffering this. Check these settings.
1. Go to Settings/ Device Maintenance/ battery and make sure power saving mode is turned off.
2. Settings/ Display/ Screen Mode and make sure its on the highest setting.
3. This is mostly a diagnostic step but, Turn the blue light filter off, then HOLD the power but to open the power menu then touch AND HOLD power off till it asks for comfirmation to boot into safe mode. Then do it.
If non of that works. A Factory Reset may be needed.
Back your personal stuff up. NEVER back up settings if your having a software issue.
Id turn the blue light filter off first then reset from recovery.
Mine started doing the same thing today and I checked the setting and saw I accidentally turned on scheduling.
First note 8 I bought did this the first day, ended up returning g it for a new phone. Mine had a yellow tint to the screen and there's a million things on Google about it.

Hello all. Since our Motorols do not have LEDs, I have found a very good application that solves this problem by enabling flash notification. The application is free and without advertising. Maybe some of you know her but maybe I helped someone.
Google Play:

XDA:

A big thank you to the author of the application.
actually i noticed a LED in the top right upon booting the phone for the first time, so physically, there is a notification LED. But, i think its disabled in the android software, maybe a custom rom can fix that at some point.

In fact, if you look at it in good light, you can see a small dot on the right side of the flash. However, I'm not sure if it's a led. It would be fun because then they will do it in unofficial roms.

It is a white LED. If you let your phone discharge its battery all the way down to nothing, this light will turn on when you charge it. After a few moments, it then turns off. No idea why Moto set it up this way. I'd rather have the LED on all the time when charging.
Ex kernel manager gives you options to use the white led. I have it set to be on when my phone is charging lol

any advice?
Ever since updating to ColourOS11, android auto has been freezing on me when the screen is off however activating the screen will unfreeze it.
Is anyone else experiencing this or if anyone knows a fix besides 30m screen timeout.
The issue's been mentioned on a couple of other threads, from what I've read it seems to be a Android 11 issue in general, not just limited to Oppo / ColorOS. Haven't seen a way to fix this so far, seems like one has to wait for an update to fix it and until then keep the screen on...

Yea I had a look through some other threads. Turning off AOD and Fingerprint while screen off seems to somewhat work abiet still glitchly. Been in contact with Oppo who seems to only want me to send the phone into the service centre but I am waiting for Christmas break to be over and send it then otherwise hopefully a update by then but doubts.
I just had the issue, but by leaving it plugged in and letting the connection time out, it reset and connected. Took about a minute.
I finally got the ColorOS 11 update and now Android Auto is having this issue. Really rather annoying as I've only just got a new car and had Android Auto so was enjoying it!
Basically same issue where the car screen just locks up until you unlock the phone screen (i still get audio prompts for directions in google maps etc so Android Auto is still running). Seems to be a standoff between the OEM's and Google. Looking at other forums some OnePlus phones have the same issue (BBK group thing perhaps!)

I solved this issue going into developer options and activating the "keep screen on while charging" mode. The display will remain on, but with a very low brightness level.
