Hello folks! Today I got successful in downgrading my Verizon s6 from android marshmallow to android Lollipop 5.1.1 but still there is no root for 5.1.1 too! . Many people need it, MM is a bit buggy lollipop is much more faster and battery life is good too for me at least. So your data is going to wipe and be careful about flashing with odin. I hope you are familiar with it if not google it. Many good guides are available. Don't forget to turn off reactivation lock if enabled.
1- flash OK7 firmware which is 5.1.1 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9jRsxJwh4klTEpMWFF4UkNSdXM/view
2- after flashing OK7 your phone will boot up but it will stuck at red verizon logo (Bootloop). now press and hold volume up & volume down + power button until a black screen appears with 5 options press vol down and highlight 2 option factory data and reset press home button.
Voila your are now downgraded at 5.1.1.!!
Everyone know it
This guide is for noobies.
So 5.1 don't have root either? What's the reason to downgrade then?

Is this ver the only one working? Did you try out any other G920V 5.1.1 or 5.0.2 firmwares?

You can try 5.1.1 firmware for your model , however consult your relevant xda forum.
Will this trip Knox, and can I still get Ota updates flashing this?

This will not trip Knox, but may I understand the logic of wanting to downgrade, but wanting to get OTA updates? Then why are you downgrading? Root isn't permanent.
Ota updates simply for the reason in case I ever do decide that I want to upgrade to marshmallow again, I'm not downgrading for root, but to test if it'll improve my phones battery life as I've seen many threads state
Ok so I went ahead and did it but now my phone wants to update to MM again :/
Any way to disable the update?
Can i downgrade g920v 6.0.1 to OK7 ?

So I take this to mean that I can now root my phone and replace the god awful auto drivers with VIPER?

My s7 is making beeping sound instead of vibrating after I installed/flashed firmware with odin. So I installed/flashed android 6.0.1 on my s7 after it updated to 7.0, since I didnt liked Nougat. First I only used the AP file/thing in odin but after the installation was done ,phone wanted a password and default_passoword didnt work so I used AP and SCS file in odin and it worked. Every thing was fine until I found out that my phone was making a weard beeping noise every time I got an notification and later I found out that it wasent vibrating too. Any way to fix it?
And when I change the vibration pattern in settings, the phone is making this weird beeping sound and not vibrating. And often it is losing the wifi connection (it wasn't doing that before).
Have the same issue any updates?
Not sure if I'm up to date, but I faced the same problem today after downgrading from Android 7 to 6... I used Superman ROMs both times.
The problem is - Nougat bootloader with Marshmellow.
I've reinstalled the ROM choosing to "update" bootloader and modem this time (I've skipped at first this because I was sure that BL is up to date after Nougat installation). And it worked fine.
So choose the right bootloader for the Android version you use.
Yep it's a bootloader issue, you can flash just the BL file via Odin for your android version without any issues. That's what I did when going from N back to MM.
i found solution for no vibrator after downgrade nougat to marshmallow
S7 edge is not vibrating after downgrade nougat to marshmallow, it is because you are using nougat bootloader in Marshmallow, you just have to flash with odin the correct MARSHMALLOW bootloader and CP and the vibrator will work just fine.

Hi guys! I have a galaxy s7 G930W8 (Canadian version). I've been trying to install Kali Nethunter for a couple weeks now. The only real requirement i need is Touchwiz 6.0.1. So first I tried using odin to flash the stock marshmallow firmware. Replacing the CP file usually broke my Bell service so i leave that empty and only flash the AP. But the Camera doesn't work. Next I tried Hydrarom 1.4, and again, everything working except the camera.
Right now I'm running Lineage Os, running nougat. Camera works. Same thing for stock Nougat firmware. Camera works. I guess what I'm looking for is a rom that is still being updated because hydrarom and stock marshmallow firmwares are from 2016. I heard about "Jesse's Note 7 rom for s7", but all the downloads seem to be broken. I even tried looking for the old lineage 13 but i'm unable to find that too.
Do you guys have any ideas? Rom suggestions? I enjoy the fully debloated roms without google or samsung. Thanks!
I bought the unlocked USA version of the S8+ (SM-G955U1), and it came stock with Oreo/8.0. I've tried multiple times to flash firmware with Nougat so that I can downgrade and root, because all other firmware for Oreo doesn't work. I don't know if the process is unsuccessful for me because the phone wasn't ever updated from 7.0 to 8.0 or what, but at this point I'm willing to resend this phone and just the Internantional/Exynos version if nothing else works.
Thanks for the help regardless.
As many others have come across, i lost vibration after downgrading to marshmallow from nougat. The solution is said to upgrade back to nougat and then flash all 4 files for marshmallow with odin including bootloader. this is not possible due to sw rev check, even with root access and "phone bootloader update" checked in odin. i dont understand the purpose of an unlocked bootloader, if the phone it self is hardcore locked right up and wont let you change/downgrade the bootloader anyway... i dont do any banking or anything extreme on my phone, im not *that* worried about security and identity theft. frp lock is off already/still. purposely havent even played with screen locks yet until i hopefully get things the way i want
so im wondering now, if theres some sort of a patch or a fix for this issue, since flashing all 4 files is not possible. ive even tried making and md5 for bootloader with out sboot.bin. it still does it. failed instead at param.bin, so i tried another with literally just cm.bin in it. and that also triggered sw rev check.
has anyone figured out a fix for vibration, without saying screw it and staying on nougat or oreo? is there something i can rename to make sw rev check think its a version 3 bootloader when its actually a version 2?
I was thinking this method of using BL from nougat and AP from marshmallow was the same as making my own combination firmware. which does mostly work.... mostly.
i even thought about trying the superman rom for marshmallow but since it uses samsung official components like bootloader id probably run into the same issue.
anyone have any solutions?? besides custom roms (want that touchwiz look and feel. i know, call me crazy)
