Dual sim phone, schedule one sim to disable - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I just got one plus 3t which is a dual sim phone.
I have a query if there is an app available or maybe there is something built in (which I haven't found) to turn off one simcard after 9pm then enable it again at 7am (basically I don't want to receive calls and sms during the night)
the other one needs to be active all the time.
Currently running Anrdoid version 7.0
thanks.

Galaxy A9 Pro (A9100) Dual Sim Function is Flop

Hi guys Im from the Philippines. Bought a China-released and rooted Samsung A9 Pro recently. I drcided to get it because it is dual sim (even is the second sim slot is a hybrid one), dual LTE and its huge battery at 5000mAh. I unfortunately did not try the messaging function. I noticed that every time someone sends me an SMS i get 2 same messages (1 for each sims). Also, i get super delayed to no messages at all on the second sim. I notices this specially if i need to get an OTP from bank providers. Need help how to make the second sim function while having it work here in Manila. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Same thing here. Two messages of every single message. Very annoying.
Mines fine. No double sms.

How can I remove the + sign on outgoing/incoming calls?

Hey everyone! I just bought myself a Verizon Note 5 (SM-N920V) and I bought an unlock code in order to use a prepaid service here in the USA. My Cricket sim card works fine (Data, calls, etc). The only issue is that every time I do an outcall, there is a plus sign (+) that automatically appears after I press the green call button. Same thing with incoming calls. It is an issue because it does not recognize my already saved contacts on incoming and when I do an outgoing call, it thinks I'm doing a international call because of the + sign which is a hassle. Is there a way I can permanently remove this from the system? Thanks.

You didn't even need to buy any unlock code for the Verizon variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 because ALL Verizon variants are already sim unlocked so you got ripped off!! Check and see if there's an update for the phone using Smart Switch on a Windows computer..

Yea. I know. It's okay. It was only $10. I updated it using Smart Switch a couple of days ago and it still gives me that plus sign.

Try downgrading then back to Lollipop. If that doesn't work then I don't know what to tell you without root access..

Alright I understand. Can you provide me with the way to root the device? Maybe sending me a link to the instructions? How would I remove the plus sign even after I root? Do you think installing CM or a custom made ROM is better than a the default?

Lol!! That's not going to happen on the Verizon variant phone! There's no root access as of yet or CM.. You're basically stuck. Don't ever buy Verizon for that matter.

Dual Sim mode experience?

Hi All,
This will be my first dual sim phone so was curious if anybody has been using this on the HTC U11+? Hopefully will get it the end of this week (if they stick with UK release time scale) so just have a few questions for this device.
Does it really kill the battery?
Does it support taking calls/texts on both sims?
I'm assuming you have to pick which sim to use data from?
Any other comments are most welcome.

Hi
I am using this fantastic phone since a couple of months. It's amazing. Good choice.
Back to your questions:
- No, it doesn't kill the ? Battery
- yes, it's a active dual SIM and support both options
- Yes, you can choose your preferred Data SIM
Really good choice. The phone has recieved an 600Mb update early this morning. It's perfect.

Is Dual SIM Wifi Calling Possible? Active/Passive Dual SIM?

Apologies if I have missed anything in my search of the forum, I've got my finger on the button ready to buy a Mi Mix 2S but I need to know if I can use Wifi calling on both SIMs at the same time. It'll unfortunately be a deal-breaker if it doesn't, because I live and work in an area with poor signal and rely on it all day every day.
My carriers are H3G ("Three") UK, and EE UK, I've tried speaking to them both but that's just a waste of time and I can't get any answers there so hopefully the knowledgeable folk here may know.
Whilst the phone is within warranty I'd like to try and avoid flashing ROMs or anything else that may affect the warranty so I'd be running MIUI as it comes from new for the time-being.
Also I've been reading up a bit on active and passive standby, I understand that with passive, an ongoing call on one SIM would block the second from working, and passive allows both to receive calls at the same time. As I'll be using it for home and business purposes, if I'm on a personal call I wouldn't want to miss any work calls. So I gather I would need active dual SIM, I understand the CPU in the 2S supports this, but can anyone confirm if the feature is implemented/enabled?
I've ordered it now as it was on promotion and almost out of stock so didn't want to miss out. I'll report back once I've tested the above
I've received the phone today. Out of the box, it's not enabled for either sim. Typing *#*#4636#*#* shows the options, but they are greyed out for both sims sadly.
EE support most phones that have wifi calling capability, and Three officially support selected phones sold by them only, but they have an app to allow wifi calls on other phones.
I'll keep researching this to see if I can get it working
I've tried everything, there is no wifi calling on the mix2s. I've been able to get the toggles enabled and use qpst to activate the modem settings for the wifi calling feature but none of them enable the wifi radio to call out. It's somewhere in this q&a section already.
I tried on both MIUI and AOSP, neither work.

I can confirm WiFi calling works for primary SIM as long as carrier support it and "carrier check" setting is disabled. If anyone knows about dual WiFi calling please tell us.

Dual SIM dialing

Hi,
I have dual SIM version of the Velvet. Previously I used Xiaomi MI9 (also dual SIM), and when I switched I was so surprised the way you get to choose from witch SIM card you are making a call. Is that really it that in LG you need to choose SIM card in notifications menu before making a call?
For example MIUI gives you different options, one SIM to be default or ask before making a call, or you can always tap and hold contact to choose a SIM card...
That's weird, or am I missing a setting?
Hi have you had an answer for this? I'm hesitating between this and a Xiaomi device and dual sim usage is really important to me

No, I just got used to it, that I must double check which SIM card is currently selcted. It's annoying but well... it works, though. I switched from Mi9, but it had terrible battery life. I still see people annoyed from battery problems in their Xiaomi.

You can always preset a SIM card to certain number.

Hi thanks for answering! I can get the Redmi Note 10 pro and the LG velvet for the same price; that's why I have been hesitating, but my current phone is still working so whichever is cheaper will be my next phone haha
How is your transition from MIUI to the Velvet UI? I have never tried MIUI before but from videos I have seen, I really like the way it looks, LG's UI on the other hand, I still have mixed feelings...
Velvet UI and MIUI are a bit different, but can't tell which one is better. Maybe one thing I miss is gesture navigation. I have chosen Velvet because of Dual Screen case - the one thing that distinguished that phone among others.
