How to get system to provide PDF viewer as option to view aspx file? - T-Mobile LG G5 Questions & Answers

I can do this manually and in fact have set it to use one of my PDF viewers to do automatically but only when I manually select the file from my ES file explorer. Where it's not doing this is when a browser(chrome or Firefox) downloads this file then the system offers to open it right then and there which would be great saving me the time to taken to switch the file explorer, find file then open, but it only offers a bunch of apps not designed to open this type of file. Anyone know? Thanks

Download manager

Is there any way to save content to specific area? example: mp3 files to ringtone/alarm/notifications folder, from browser....
thanks.
Not at the moment. However, you can use one of the numerous File Managers (I prefer Astro at the moment) available on the Market to manually move the files.
I see, I was trying to make a website for ringtone, I also discovered with opera mini, you can save to sdcard but not specific folder, only in root directory... thank you for the responses...
ofcourse you can save file to any folder with opera mini.
There is a program called Download Crutch that allows you to save any file to your sd card, I'm not sure if you can set a direct path, but you don't have to use Opera specifically.

Associate files with an application?

Is there a way to specify what app the File Manager app on the Eee Pad should use to open a file with based on file extension? For example, I want the File Manager to use ACV to open CBR files.
I noticed some apps are already associated with certain file extensions (for example ezPDF with PDF files). Presumably this association was made by the installer. Is there anyway for me to explicitly make file associations?

Click to collapse
With android devices, it will ask you about an unassociated file type. If the association is already set though, you can go in to menu/settings/applications/manage applications and then go to the app that whatever you're trying to change the association to and click clear defaults. For example:
I clicked on a jpg in my file browser but nothing is associated with it, it will ask me as well as giving me the "always open with this" checkbox. Say i pick gallery and but i install another gallery app later and want to change it. I'll go in to manage apps, then in to gallery, and click clear defaults. When you try to click on a jpg again it will once again pop up the list with apps that can read jpgs.
If the app in question you're trying to create associations with doesn't show up on the list though, i'm not sure how to manually set it a la windows.

Files

Is there any way to open an .msg file? Our main website for my job uses .msg files. I download the files to my tablet but it will not open them. Is there a way around this or something to convert these files into something I can open on my tablet?
Thank in advance!
Convert it to a text file or pdf file then open it. Google how to convert msg files.
Or Google android .msg viewer and look at the top several hits. I can't recommend one as I don't do. Msg files but the first hit is a free application with decent ratings so it's worth a try.

[Q] Good App to upload videos to youtube easily?

Device: Nexus 7 (2012 version)
Android: 4.4.4
I need to regularly upload videos onto youtube, like 10 videos a day. I am using "ES File Explorer" to do this task for now. The process is too tedious, it's like:
1. open ES file explorer, it's set to go to my video folder by default
2. I need to rename each file, and copy the file name later for youtube file naming.
3. (this step is the tedious one) long tap on the file, tap "more" on bottom right, tap "share", scroll the list all the way down, tap "youtube".
4. the youtube upload page shows up, paste the file name I just copied.
5. tap "upload" on the top right.
I wish there's a way to create a shortcut to one tap uploading to youtube. This seems to be not possible in ES file explorer. Is there any way/app can do this?

[APP] zipNship - Share photos without loss of quality

This app allows you to compress files to decrease their size and in case of photos to send them from any app without loss of quality.
Unlike other apps that offer this functionality, zipNship does not need read and write storage permissions to create zip files. Does not require any permission at all.
You can get it from Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.easyjoin.zipnship
How it works
• Select one or more files using your favorite file manager, a gallery app and any other app you use to view and manage your files.
• Share the selected files and send them to "zipNship - Zip".
• Create a compressed file that contains all the selected files. Minimize the size of the data to be sent and in case of photographs maintain their quality.
• Share the zip file with any application, send it via email, message or save it in the cloud.
• You can share the zip file again or delete it to free up space on your storage.
Note that some files, such as jpg photographs, cannot be compressed much more than the original. In this case, putting them in a zip file guarantees that their quality will not be impacted by the program used to send them.
You can also unzip a file in a similar way. You will have to select the zip file and share it with "zipNship - Unzip". The first time you will need to select a folder and allow the application to unzip the file on it.
