I currently have Honor 6 (H60-L04) and installed on it Android 5.1 Lollipop and EMUI 3.1 (plus custom recovery and root).
Honor 8 has standard Android 6.0 and EMUI 4.1.
Can I to make a copy of the everything (apps, data, the directory layout on desktops, ...) by system application on the current version EMUI 3.1 and then restore it on EMUI 4.1, or do I have to go earlier on android 6.0 and 4.1 EMIU?
I'd rather leave H6 android 5.1 because this version suits me more.
Titanium Backup drops out, because sometimes already moved his help everything between different devices and always something not restored.
Try HiSuite
Try the Huawei Phone Clone app, it is in the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hicloud.android.clone

Can anyone tell me where (path) are stored all accounts? Google, facebook etc. I do not want it all over again to enter (I have over 20), and unfortunately the data is not moved. A an account yet e-mail, it can be somehow rip from one phone to another? These accounts also have a few.
Of course, I have root on 6 Honor and Honor 8.
Hello all,
Since the last firmware update (G930FXXS1DQHN) of my S7 G930F I have issues with seeing the folder content of several maps in my stock (Samsung) email client v4.0.87.0. Apparently, I am not the only one and have it with several (exchange) accounts. Before the latest firmware upgrade all worked fine.
The provided stock email in the firmware seems to be pretty old. Many newer releases of Samsung Email are available, but unfortunately, I cannot install neither of them (package conflict with already exsisting package error), hoping an upgrade of the stock client solves my issues.
Is there a way out to upgrade the stock Samsung email client on a non rooted S7? Thanks in advance for replies.
For info: my T813 tablet running stock email v4.0.70.0 does NOT have this issue of not displaying folder content of some email folders.

Thanks for reply, but I had already Secure Startup Enabled and multiple reboots....but do not see the relation with respect to options to install APK updates of stock apps. One only adds a password to eneable starting up the system. Or am I stupid ?
Any more detailed info availble how to tackle this one?

It is the known fix for the "Package name conflict" error when trying to update stock apps, works without fail for everyone up until now
Either disabling or enabling secure startup and then rebooting allows the install, doesn't seem to care which one you do as long as it is the opposite of whatever you had set when it wasn't working
Try Disabling Secure Startup > Boot to recovery > Clear cache partition > Reboot > Install APK
If that fails, enable Secure startup again and reboot once more, try installing apks
Keep in mind, if you reboot without toggling secure startup, apps will fail to install again on next boot, they only install after you toggle that setting and then reboot, rebooting normally will break it again
Well, now it is clear and it worked. Updated to version 4.2 now . Thanks for the good tip!!! It will make my colleagues happy as well.
:good:
Funny to see that this trick does NOT work on my Tab S2 T813, unfortunately.

Rooted devices have no secure startup option
Not sure how you would install the updates apps without it, unless you know how to replace the stock ones manually using a root file explorer
Hi All,
I was wondering whether its currently possible to downgrade back to EMUI 9? I received my Mate 30 Pro today (Model LIO-AL00), and it came with Android 10 out of the box. It has also applied a bunch of updates and I am now on 10.0.0.135.
I have tried the various guides to side-load Gapps via the backup method. Whilst the Gapps install, I can't open them. LZplay also doesn't want to start. I've tried all sorts of guides (including: https://www.gearbest.com/blog/how-t...ll-google-apps-gms-on-huawei-mate-30-pro-8639) but they all fail.
I also stumbled across the thread that talks about using Virtual Exposed (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-30-pro/how-to/microg-t3977821). I can get Virtual Exposed installed, and the play store installed, but it doesn't open either.
So, I was wondering whether its possible (somehow?) to downgrade back to EMUI 9, so that I can use the LZPLAY method?
Thanks!!
Don't need to go back to 9. You can still get playstore on emui 10. I did it yesterday. Guide section install Google Play guide works. Rithina is op

I had seen that post, and I had tried it yesterday without any luck.
This morning I reset the phone and started again. Following the link from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-30-pro/how-to/install-gms-google-play-store-t3992095
I managed to restore the HiSuite backup (only apps and settings)
Installed Google Apps fine
Started LZplay, but then get connection errors (see screenshots)
Do I need to VPN into China for this to work? Because the phone is trying to get to https://api.lzplay.net, which no longer exists.
It also tries to go to http://configdownload.dbankcdn.com/ which is also throwing an error.
Any ideas?

Lzplay is meant to not work. Now close it and install all the Google system apps and play store. Give them all permissions they ask for.

Hi Mate, I have done that, but none of them work. These instructions all follow the same pattern, and I have tried 4x different methods now. None work.
NOTE one thing: I cannot use HiSuite 9.0.3_300 to restore the LZplay backup. I am forced to use 9.1.0_309OVE because of the Android version on my phone. That is the ONLY thing that deviates from the instructions!
This one doesn't work: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...all-google-service-huawei-mate30-pro-t3992171

I can get the backup restored and all apps installed, but they just don't work . I made this video show the situation; https://youtu.be/BkAxzTzwPuQ
Should this still work with a later version of HiSuite?

OK, I FINALLY managed to get it working. I followed these instructions:
Download and unzip the lzplay package (this contains the most important application data to be restored, please do not confuse with the newly downloaded lzplay package)
2, connect Hisuite (pc Huawei mobile phone assistant) click data recovery
3, find lzplay decompression package, only restore applications and data (only restore assistant application and application data, application data is the most important! application data is the most important! application data is the most important!) does not restore system settings!
4, restart the phone after data recovery
5, then download the corresponding version of the Google package and install (corresponding to the Google package and lzplay link below) Note: Install these Google packages based on all permissions
6. After the installation is complete, open the Google Service Assistant and activate the device manager.
7, restart the phone after activation is complete
8, open the settings drop-down to see if there is a google icon, if there is, then the installation is successful, if not, repeat the installation steps
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Open GMAIL first, register your account, and Google Play should then also start working.
The first couple of times I tried to either add a Gmail account or go directly to the Playstore, which didn't work. Now I opened Gmail, added my address, signed in and it all started working!
Thanks for all your input guys. Much appreciated!!
Hello, I updated my phone to the miui fold 13.1.21. It says that it has updates to the display while folded but do not see any changes. Anyone know what this update has? Thanks
I got the notification that the update was available, but I'm rooted with Magisk and when I tried to proceed with the instructions to preserve root by "uninstall magisk / restore images", I'm confronted with the "stock backup does not exist" so I'm not sure what to do next.

Ignore "After restoring stock images", since other devices can't receive OTA before do that (updater detects root and block OTA) but Xiaomi allows OTA download even when rooted.

AndroPlus: Thank you very much! I googled "Magisk stock backup does not exist" for hours and none of the articles mentioned that you can just ignore "after restoring stock images" on Xiaomi devices. You are a genius. It worked like a charm! The offical Magisk OTA guide should include your information.

One of my issues with this device was that the font on the folded screen was so small that emails and text messages were almost too small for me to read. If I unfolded the phone the font was much larger and more readable. Now, after applying this update, the font on the folded screen is much larger and much more readable.
With this update you now have the option to "swipe up to continue" with app when folded.
If anyone knows a way to force and update please let me know. I've used a VPN to change my location to China, India, etc and still get that no update is available.
when I try to flash manually in the app after downloading the file I get this message:
"miui couldn't verify update package update via usb instead"
I just need to know how I can get the update or flash the file without losing root in magisk and my data. thanks

Updates are pushed to devices by IMEI number. I got my device the day it was released, so it will hit other devices shortly. There are no major improvements with this incremental update that I noticed other than the display (font size) on the folded screen and the new option to require a swipe when going from unfolded to folded. Are you placing the full Recovery ROM or the incremental update .zip into the update/incremental_OTA folder? Maybe try downloading from a different source. You can use the MIUI Downloader app available on the PlayStore to get the Recovery ROM or incremental OTA directly from the Xiaomi servers.

with this module it works perfectly now, just finished updating.
all you do is download the update file yourself and then you no longer get that error with this module.
just flash and follow the instructions you posted, install magisk after OTA and reboot. all good
So you can teach an old dog new tricks!
I rooted this device (model XT2131-1 TMO) while it was still on the android 11 using magisk method (currently on v25.2) and it runs fine honestly but when playing games every time the system update window appears it will completely boot me out of said game. I always selected not now( as I know updates break root if you just update) but I wanted to try and just update it and work on rooting that version after but then I receive "Package Verification Failed" notice and nothing happens. After so many attempts of selecting "not now" it will completely stop for a few weeks then start popping up again. So far this is absolutely the only issue I have ATM. More an annoyance really. Is there a way to completely disable that system update notification from appearing entirely or where should I look to restore, update, and then reboot on Android 12? I'd prefer just get rid of the update popup as everything else works fine. I'd appreciate any help thank you.
I also just remembered I've asked this in another thread but in this one im asking more about preferably disabling the system update notification entirely which will fix my main issue of it.

Solution: flash current stock kernel and run update again. You can grab updated stock kernel from RSA and patch and regain root

You can't delete it but you can certainly freeze it find an app like SD maid on Google Play you can freeze all the update apps and associated dll files there's about six or seven of them
I've still got an older pro version of that actually. Ty I'll look into that.
I'm seeing two under sdmaid. Both say frozen already. Which one is the actual android system update app pls?

Yes but there is android system update and then Motorola system update. I've disabled/froze(yes using sd maid and other root accessed app managers separately so as not to mess up anything else) both and their services/triggers (anything linked to ether) each at a time for a couple days and both at the same time and still appears constantly. Only thing I can think of is to completely reset to full stock,go to 12 and reboot ....
Try to disablw this application. i read that this help. I do not vouch for it, I’m not responsible for what happens due to it.

Look for an app called preference manager on Google Play.
Of course it'll require root.
Select each individual app it'll take you to the XML file it creates.
Look for all the timer entries and change them to zero basically make a mess out of it if you will.
As long as you've disabled all the receivers that should stop the app from Auto Wake
