Hi
I installed the latest Nougat BTU and I noticed the battery is bloodly drain
I have to charge my phone twice and more sometimes.
It's a Nougat related problem or I am alone ??
Thanks in advance
Hi,
My observations are the opposite. Perfect battery life - average 2 days with mid usage. As advise - go to recovery and wipe your cache. When I updated had the same problem. After cache wipe everything is ok. Give the ROM a couple of days to settle down.
Cheers
I flashed a stock rom from Odin and I'm in 5 day and battery life is not good what you suggeste me as custom ROM for better battery life ?
Thanks again
I have the same problem, i ve changed two firmware (UK e cze) but i didnt solve my problem, in stand by battery drain for android system and another system, what is the problem???

clear cach in recovery and reset all app permissions this will surely fix the android system and os drain
Thanks you the problem seems to be resolved.
Thank you very much
How to fix permissions?
settings > applications > tap the 3 dots on the top right > reset app preferences > restart your phone.
seems like a common problem all over the internet and the fix is to reset permissions cuz maybe the get conflicted after nougat update ?
such a stupid problem with even more stupid easy fix, shouldnt google atleast advise people that resetting apps permissions is recommended ?!
am enjoying superb battery life and fluidity of the new os as if it was a completely new device !!! havent been inlove with a google os since a very long time !
anyways glad to help

I tried this and reset cache and my screen time has increased by almost 1hr, from 3 to 4/4.5hrs, amazing difference, not even using the phone any differently!
Without clearing cache i get 4.30 to 5hrs of SOT, 15+ hrs of usage. I can say its good considering the fact that network in my area is not very stable. But Android OS is stll second after screen on battery usage

The other day I was flicking through the settings one by one, and came to the Bluetooth setting, it was disabled in the dropdown notification area, and it was disabled in the settings page, but when I clicked on the actual bluetooth setting and it opened up the BT page, it was enabled in there
Turned it off, and battery life seems to have improved somewhat
Not sure if a bug, or what, but you might want to have a look there too
Settings > Connections > Bluetooth (Click on the writing not the switch) > switch off if on
I have the same problem after update my S7 to Nougat! I check it with GSam and it shows that my App usage is about 60 %
Does it have any solution to solve this issue? I'd deleted cache partition but nothing change!
same, overnight it drops 1, max 2%, but on actual usage it drains oot quicker

I have a Galaxy Note running stock 4.1.2 Android. Over the last couple of days my battery usage has gone mad and only lasting 8-9 hours. I thought it was a duff battery and put my spare in but same result. When I looked at the battery usage I found that Package Access Helper was top of the list with 35% when it never shows usually. I Googled the problem but there was nothing very helpful.
I am also having trouble downloading any apps or deleting cache. I have rebooted several times, done a battery pull and have re-enabled all the apps I had disabled. It has made no difference and the PAH continues to hammer my battery. I would really like to avoid a factory reset if possible especially as this doesn't necessarily fix the problem apparently.
Please does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you already flashed the stock rom via Odin?
No, TBH, I wouldn't have a clue how to. I've never done anything to my phones in the way of rooting or flashing.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this please as it is still the same and I'm trying to avoid a factory reset?
Try this
Package Access Helper is the service which helps in installing and uninstalling of apps.
There are many posts of it draining battery.
Are there any software updates available in your phone, install it.
If no open play store and update all available apps.
If not fixed then clear caches using app manager 3 or any other.
Uninstall any recently installed apps when the problem started.
And pull out battery wait for 2 mins reinsert the battery and boot up phone it may be fixed..
Hit thanks if I helped..
kill cached process in developer options
open the developer's options via the last option in your settings (about phone) then scroll down to your build number spam tap the crap out of it then go back to your settings open the development tab open running services and in the top right should say something cached processes and kill process Package access helper.
The package access helper is draining my battery. Is there another app to use
I know I am not the first one to post about this issue. I have searched, not only on xda, but some other websites. I just cannot find a solution. I am running 5.1.1 non rooted Stock ROM. I have tried everything. Enabled and Disabled a lot of settings. Nothing seems to work. 20% for that Android System is just too much. It started a week ago. Today I have Installed "Quick System Info PRO" and it shows that some "System_Server" is eating battery due to a high usage of RAM and Proccesor. See attachments please.
I am thinkg about updating my OPO, but I am not sure if this will help.
Did you find a solution? Do you know how to fix this? Please share your knowledge with me.
I used to plug and charge my OPO once every day and a half. But now I have to live with my charger inside my pockets because I am charging my phone every 10 hours.
There are any other apps? Also, try with android 6.0, might fix something.
Hi @srsdani.
Thank you for your reply. No. There are not any other apps eating battery. Mostly because I am at work, I use Whatsapp.
I should also mention that the phone gets super hot for no reason, like when you are playing a game after a long time. (Due to the intesive CPU usage).

I'm thinking is OS-related. But by doing some search you will find a lot of people with same issue. Even non-OPO users. I'm gonna give it a try anyway.! Thank you for your reply.

try better battery stats and correct firmware and recovery , if possible do everything in fastboot inc flashing
So, yeah, I got the most expected update, installed and worked great... Until some issues showed up, like lockscreen freeze, and now the "you can't see you WiFi power consumption" issue. I'm mad, I know WiFi was taking a huge piece of my battery ( tried some suggestions) but now a bug report appeared, and this is what I face today
Before it was like this
What should I do now? A clean install ?

Don t fast reboot
Shutdown your device and power on
Reboot enable system drain
Disable from security settings google administrator
Cyanogen device manager does the same
Also cyanogen statistic are not used any more to lollipop
Do not use greenify apps from version to version update has opposite results
If you want better battery use apps that will disable sensors and locationwhen device sleep
I have updated to Android 8.0.0 a few days ago and so far I have only came across problems and issues with stability and performace.
So the positives about the update:
- The phone definitly is more secure, google did an amazing job on that one, for sure its the safest version on android by far,
- Performance is slighty better
- The skin excluding the icons are very nice, but it just ends here,
And here are the negatives I have come accross:
- The settings menu is kind of broken. On a few ocassions so far there have been no icons next to the text and would disappear unless i closed settings and opened it again,
- When u select for example Security, There are no icons on the left of the text. It just seems lazy from htc that they didnt really finalize the rom, everything seems rushed,
- Files are encrypted by default and impossible to access unless you do a full wipe and somehow remove the decryption(I assume you need to use aroma, but i have no idea how that works),
- Multiple icons are used a lot and there are barely any animations (Example - On youtube when u minimize a video and then reopen it, there is no animation it just teleports the screen to full or minimized. When u pull down the menu from the top, again no animation, it just goes down instantly. When u try to close the applications when u swipe left or right it just does it quickly),
- The secondary display lags a lot i have no idea why,
- When i use bluetooth headphones the audio stutters a lot making watching videos or listening to music really uncomfortable( on htc earphones the audio is fine),
- The rom in general just feels really rushed and unpolished
If anyone is experiencing similar issues please let me know, also if there is a fix for the specified please post it down.
In general its cool that we got the update, but we got a half baked one, with controversial features I would say..

Yes numerous times
Okay so with a simple reset and a visit to the recovery to attempt to delete cache and dalvik cache, bluetooth works fine with my headphones and the secondary display doesnt stutter anymore, yay.
I think the rom is a little bit unstable..

Okay so for some reason my rom is very unstable.
From time to time it stutters a lot while on some ocassions it works smooth, ill probably have to factory reset it
The official Oreo rom lags. The former rom was smoother. I have horrible battery life. The SOT is less than 2 hours and it was around 4 hours. I did a factory reset. This update is a big disappointment.
Give it a few days guys
Guys keep in mind that every time when you update to new android it takes several days till everything settles. With the new version everything (including apps) is scanning, indexing and setting up in background in the first few days.

I have stoсk 7.0, tell me how to roll back to 7.0.
Trouble in Oreo is Temperature over 50-60 degrees
Also noticed the fact that in 7.0 the memory was loaded by 54% in 8.0 the memory is loaded by 70%
Please tell me why the processor operates at maximum frequencies in normal mode?

Did you enable the battery saver option in the quick setting drop down menu?
This option disables the animation.

I'm fairly sure that you can do that by the option which is intent on doing so.
The point I was trying to make is, battery saver does not behave like this in the prior versions, and I was assuming that OP thought his ROM was broken somehow because of enabling it.
Just to add my experience with the update first time it soft bricked my phone and had to flash ruu via sd card to get it working again. It now runs but keep finding secondary screen crashes when using sat nav and error message covers the screen! I also get a crash in mail whenever i try to reply to anyone!
Hello to all. unfortunately after the update to android 10 some lag appeared that remind me a lot of the s8 .... it's a nightmare that haunts me. I did not reset and I would like to avoid it, could someone tell me if it has been affected by this problem and if it is possible to remedy it without resetting? thank you
I would suggest first wiping the cache from stock recovery mode. See how it runs and if it picks up. You do also have to ensure apps are updated as needed.
Mine lagged too after the oneui 2 update. I've done a reset and at first it was smooth before I restored apps and settings. But after restoring it started to lag especially on home and recents screen. I found a solution to turn off adaptive power saving. Now it's super smooth
Edit: I found out that the lag comes from accessibility services. Mine was AutoSkip. After I turned it off home and recents becomes smooth again.
So, did u advice to avoid the update? I bought mine today and I was wondering if it was worth it...

If you just bought the device, I recommend to not install all your apps yet, but first update all way up to Android 10 (keep updating until there’s no new updates available), and then make a factory reset. After this you can install your things normally.
I've made this process and now my S10e runs like a butter!
EDIT: As mentioned by @kdanina, turn OFF adaptative power saving, but let adaptative battery ON. They seem to be similar but in practice the first one is flawed on our device.
Hello there. I think my phone's been compromised. It's been acting up since my last OS update. I have a OnePlus 9 LE2115, currently running oxygen os 13.1.
I was searching through apps because something's draining my battery and i noticed that all of my apps are always running even tho I've turned them all off manually and turned off background data usages. I can't force stop on about 60 percent of my apps anymore.
Upon further inspection, i found a few system apps I've never seen before and cannot find any info on when googling.
App #1- Metis ( i cannot find any info on this at all or delete this app but i have disabled it but i don't think that did anything) when i googled 'Metis ui' this is something that caught my eye... (https://github.com/europeana/metis-ui/blob/develop/package-lock.json) i don't read code so I'm not sure what it even is but it's the only thing i saw that might be relevant to what's installed?
App#2- media:: 10065 ( it doesn't show up as an app normally, just when 'show system' apps on my apps list in settings.
App#3-i think it's from when i installed TikTok on my phone but have since deleted it, but as you can see the 'musically' file was found on my phone after TikTok app was deleted.
I'll attach screenshot of what I'm seeing... Idk what to do. Can you please help me with this?
I was in the same situation with my op9 after update to 13.1 The absolute only way I could achieve proper battery life and it was from a suggestion out of the oneplus community. Factory reset fixed everything. Now I'm getting 22-30 hours off charger and up to 7 hrs Sot. This will fix your issues as well. It stinks but is what has to be done.
Generally, the recommendation is to factory reset after OTA. Sometimes bugs pop up and factory reset fixes them. I have had a few myself lately. Anyways, if it still doesn't fix your issues, I recommend to use MSM Tool to revert back to factory firmware. It will take you back to OOS11. You can then OTA all the way upto latest one. Then do a factory reset and start using the phone.
You could first try to keep device plugged in and charging 30 min to an hour after it's completely full charging to optimize apps See if this works before having to reset device .

I've had it at a full charge and it will last a little longer but all my apps are still running in the background. And it takes so long for my fast charger to charge up my phone too. I was hoping i didn't have to factory reset but... I guess if it's the only thing that can be done for this. I've had to resort to fingerprint locking every app to see if would stop the problem. It didn't. Well, here goes nothing. Time to backup my data. I'll come back after my reset and update. Thank you for your help guys!
If you only started having these issues after updating to 13.1, then its best you do a factory reset. Its not uncommon for weird issues to happen such as battery drain. I once lost the ability to use 5G after an update and a factory reset fixed it. If you believe your phone might be compromised, well a factory reset will fix that too.
