[Completed] LG d851 bricked! Stuck on Firmware Update Screen (No recovery, no fastboot) - XDA Assist

Hello all. I have an LG G3 d851 that came with Android 5. Recently I acquired the d85130e official ROM (.zip) and flashed it with our loyal and trusted friend TWRP recovery. Sadly I lost root and TWRP in the process but everything else was smooth. After some research I learned from an XDA post that the only of re-rooting was was downgrading. So I got me a new friend, LGUP tool, I downloaded D85130d_00_0404.kdz to flash with LGUP. While flashing, in the middle of the process (about 51% of overall progress) the "friend" shows me an error: "Incorrect Porotocol: LAF version 0x100004 // DLL version 0x100001" and voilá! I am now phone-less. The phone only enters "Firmware Update" screen and ignores any Hard Reset requests (probably due to non-existing or corrupt system partition). I've downloaded a variety of DLL's supposedly for d851 but none have helped. Please Save My Soul!!

Hello and welcome to Assist
Sorry but I could not find any info/solution on the problem youre facing so please post in your device help section linked below

[Completed] LG G2 D802 Refurbished, problems after upgrading rom

Hello to all and hope you will be fine
My Problem: i bought LG G2 D802 last week, it was running on 4.4 kit kat, i thought to root my phone and to install android 5.0,
So i use " one click recovery" for rooting but sudddenly my phone stuck in fastboot mode, after a lot of search i find a solution with LAF, BOOT, ABOOT etc, but i flash these .img files of d801 unfortunately. after that in download mode i installed KDZ, for turned on but touch is not working its awkward.
After searching lot i find that my LG G2 is Refurbished. i opened it and see the motherboard and D800 was written on it. So it is D800, but it always shows d802 in adb.
After doing above all things what happened to my phone
No network
Baseband Unknown
Imei Null
Touch is not responding
Internal 32 gb but showing 10gb
Restarts after 1 or 2 minutes
im currently using it with Mouse and so worried as i had managed money with great difficulty. :crying:

H950 5.1.1 V11z Bricked/Bootloop: LG Security Error, Authentication Fail #9

Hello
A brief timeline of events leading to this thread:
1. I purchased a G-Flex2 H950 from Ebay for $250 and was supposed to be upgrading from a Galaxy S4-I337.
2. Received my device yesterday and set out to update to 5.1.1 & root the device to remove bloatware.
3. I was able to update to 5.1.1 V11x using my StraightTalk sim on AT&T network.
4. After many frustrating hours of trying to root using different methods, I finally was able to root using the technique mentioned in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/development/root-easy-root-att-flex-2-5-1-1-t3178354
5. A nice complement to point "4" above was the firmware update to 5.1.1 V11z.
6. Extremely happy that I was ready to rock, I set out to delete all the bloatware from my device.
7. First surprise obviously was the inability to remove a bunch of AT&T apps because "APK could not found" error.
8. Like the idiot that I am, I went ahead and deleted the "rootsystem.img" from the internal memory (unnecessarily, blame my OCD!).
9. Now after I finished de-bloating the device (or so I thought), I rebooted it and to my horror... I see the error message:
LG Security Error
Authentication Fail #9
10. I attempted to get to the recovery mode and deleted/erased all data & settings. No dice!
11. I'm still able to get to the download mode using the Volume-Up & USB connect method (& this is why I'm cursing myself at point "8" because I could have re-used the easy root method again to flash the img file).
12. I tried to use the "LG Mobile Support Tool", it recognizes the device correctly as "LGH950" but says V11z is the latest software update.
My question to experts: How SOL am I? I don't think LG would honor my warranty since the purchase is NOT from a authorized dealer/reseller. So no chance of warranty repair/replacement, no?
I looked everywhere (for close to 10 hours) for KDZ & TOT files to even attempt something. But I couldn't find anything for H950. Man, I hate AT&T so much now... Why couldn't they just leave the bootloader unlocked? Or LG (AT&T?)even provide the necessary files to start off with?
Could someone with more knowledge please offer any help? Meanwhile, I've pretty much resigned to be joining the queue full of others with bricked H950's...
From what I've heard LG goes by the S/N and date of manufacturing just like Lenovo for warranty. You can just ask their customer service if the warranty is active for your phone.
As for recovering it all you would've needed to do was use the tool as you stated. I have commented many times explaining people should only disable/freeze bloat and not *delete* anything (there are some crucial system apps, editing build prop seems to cause loops for me for ex.). There was another member in this situation if I remember correctly.
In case you can't go the warranty route ask Sj if he has found a way to push files while the phone is in DL mode.

Hi i have the same problem, I rename many apps in system folder of my ls996 zv8 and now the phone no boot and only show "LG Security Error"
I tried to rename the files in download mode but system partition is mounted as read only, and also fails when attempting to mount this in rw.
In 5.1.1 the download mode remove the option to read files from sd card.
I tried to mount the sd card, but I had no luck.
The sd-card is located in /sys/block/mmcblk1
cat /proc/partitions show: 179 64 1921024 mmcblk1

Hey man, thanks for the suggestion, but tried that too. Did not get an option to download the kdz when I entered IMEI. Here's the screenshot I get.
hi sorry to bump in
but i made the huge mistake in renaming system apps, so now bootloop and same security error condition with a ls996 zv6,
1.- i know that don't even think to try to downgrade from zv6 to zv5 tot= Brick.
2.- is there a way to push, copy (aroma file manager, twrp file manager), in normal or stock recovery?
3.- is there a way to flash rootedsystem.img zv6 to the phone in: recovery, fastboot or even the command:
Step 11 flash commands:
For LS996 (ZV6/ZV7/ZV8)
Code:
dd if=/data/media/0/rootedsystem.img bs=8192 seek=58368 count=522240 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0, from another source, rather than from internal sd, because obviously i didn't copied to the device previously?
4.- already tried to flash from stock recovery, the ZV6 Update= update.zip but it gives an error to load because some system app not valid, i remember
please, if someone could help me and us with this problem
thank you very much indeed

Only solution is to send it back to LG.
There is no way (yet) to flash with dd command from external SD.
and there is no other tot besides ZV5 and as you said thats a Hard brick.

Well I wouldnt trust this.
But if this only flashes the system partition well it shouldnt be harmful. You could download the zv6 stock sys.img and flash it afterwards so you can ota update your phone to zv9 and then root again.
But like I said I wouldnt suggest that...

Why no? You can use Push_file.exe.

Well this is new @MAXIMATOR at least it is to me.
If you let me I can add this to my back to stock forum.
Push_file.exe can not send files larger than 16 MB . the image to be split into files no more than 16 MB , after which they can be sent to the device . On the device, combined to one file.

LG L50 Sporty Help!

Hello
Just got a small problem with my phone. I have rooted and unrooted my LG L50 multiple times now with different programs, iv changed to boot image which is somehow messed up now even though it was fine before and i'm wondering if there it a way of reinstalling android on it (kitkat 4.4.2) or maybe even put android lollipop onto it if possible.
Please reply quick thanks
for lollipop we need unlocked bootloader witch im currently working on.but i will probably faill--.-- to get your android 4.4.2 installed you will need flash tool and a kdz file just follow this guide and good luck http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190 .. and btw this will not wipe your data you will have to do that later
L50 Sporty
I tried to install two KDZ ROMs by the KDZ updater however it consists as Phone not found, and by the LG support tool it arrives at 80% of the rom install in the error apparatus. Anyone who can help thanks.

What can i do to get my lg g3 working again?

:crying:
My issue is quite complicated. Please be patient and read on.
Less than a week ago, I bought an LG G3 D855. It wasn't brand new and definitely out of warranty.
It was on the 4.4.2 Os version but I couldn't update it because I couldn't locate the UPDATE CENTER and after some research online, I found out it was because it was rooted. I couldn't find a Supersu application anywhere on the phone anyways but Root checker confirmed that it was rooted.
I downloaded the stock kitkat firmware in a .tot format and I tried flashing using LG Flash Tool for TOT but it failed because "Device version is different"
I checked the Imei online and it stated that the device is a Sprint LS990 but the details embedded in the phone all say it is D855
I checked online and found a couple of posts about this error and one user said he was able to fix it by flashing the actual Sprint .tot with the lg flash tool. I tried that but it didn't work. It still said "Device version is different. Check BIN or dll"
I checked online and found results pointing to a generic .dll file for G3s and I downloaded it but when I used it on the Flash tool, it resulted to an error "CrossDL blah blah"
So I found a Marshmallow kdz file. LGUP won't see my device model so I was able to flash it after editting the software in my build.prop to D85510n.
***I have always changed the port to COM41 in all the steps I used
The LG UP detected my model and it flashed to 100% but got stuck on a bootloop by loading the lg screen, freezing and restarting by it self. It never gets to the homescreen.
I downloaded lollipop kdz reflashed using LGUP in a form of downgrade and it got to 100% and got stuck at the lg screen while trying to reboot.
I redownloaded the stock kitkat rom and used the Lg flash tool but it failed. It said 'PID null IMEI Null"
I used LGUP to reflashed. It came to my understanding that the LGUP can flash both kdz and tot. So it flashed to 100% but got stuck at the lg screen and I have tried all I can but it is stuck. It can go into download tho. I don't know what to do about the IMEI. I don't know if the last flash retrieved it. I don't kniw what to do.
It no longer shows as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial
Please can anyone help me?
I just need my phone to work again. I was stubborn and now I regret it. I should have just stuck to kitkat. I'm so desperate to get my phone working that I wouldn't mind Android Froyo Os if it was ever possible.
PLEASE HELP!!!
I also had some what same problem with my old lg device ... Here's what you can do:-
Download any custom rom of your lg g3 Like Cyanogenmod and flash it via recovery.
Recovery can be stock or custom it doesn't matter.
Remember to wipe dalvik cache and wipe data before flashing the ROM. I did it and my device was working fine.
Remember that first boot
always takes 2-3 mins so be patient.
