Help in fixing bugs - General Questions and Answers

I came across custom rom port for Intex Aqua star 2, and half successfully ported it to my own Spredtrum 7731 device, using stock rom as base.
The port works perfectly, except for the fact that it produces no sounds through the loudspeaker. Headphones are alright, no problem making and receiving calls, but no ringtones or any other sound that should be played through the back speaker.
I would appreciate some help figuring out what I have to replace from the Stock rom to the Custom rom in order to fix this...
(by the way, the same thing happens with any other custom rom I ported... no other problems apart from that...)
Thank you in advance.
P.S-I forgot to mention I have already tried replacing lib files including "libaudio" in the filename.
I also tried replacing lib/hw/audio.primary.default, which also made no difference...

Cyanogenmod headphone calling problem. HELP

i just just bought a samsunga galaxy tab 2 7.0 -3100 3 days ago and rooted it with cm-10.1-20130409-NIGHTLY-p3100.zip it worked fine until i called my girlfriend yesterday and she couldnt hear me. Is there any problem with that build regarding the use of headphones during calls? dont seem to have problems using the headphone for music and for videos. today, i upgraded it to cm-10.1-20130411-EXPERIMENTAL-p3100-M3.zip. still, calling through the headphone doesnt work. It functioned okay before i rooted it. I only experience the problem after cynaogenmod installation. Can anyone help me with this? I'm still a newbie, used to be in IOS but got tired of it.

CM10.1 is a 4.2.2 based rom shich are not as stabe as 4.1.X based roms - I'd suggest flashing back to stock from Odin, doing a data wipe/factory reset - you can download all the latest firmware from sammobile.com - then root it and just use 4.1.x based roms.
I've never had luck with 4.2.x based roms on my I9300 or P3110.

Not likely. You can't make that drastic a change without wiping. If you don't, all sorts of things won't work right.

[Completed] Sensors issue after changing rom or upgrading to a new os?? Help?

After updating to a new rom i mean flashing a custom rom JB to KK, the sensors malfunctioned and it is seen that reverting back to a previous rom fixed the issue. But can someone guide which type of files or sensir files i need to get from my previous stock JB and replace or add in KK so that the rom would work fine. Anybody who has experience in working with building roms can help out. Thanks in advance.:good:
Can you please post the Device and the Rom in question ? That will help me point you in the right direction.
It is not as easy as replacing Kitkat files with JellyBean files and hope to make it work.

USB speaker stereo output problem (one side not working)

it was working good few days ago. now one speaker (left/right) is not sounding when i flashed a custom rom for test purpose (may be CM based). now um on AOSP based rom (5.1.1). but from the flash my usb speaker sounds only one side. after that i switched and flashed several custom rom but no solution. plz help me. i think its not for roms fault, because roms works correctly before .
is it kernel related problem? or something??
can flash of factory rom may bring solution?

[Completed] Issues with video recording and playback on ported rom

So here's my problem, it's not anything serious or an emergency, but I would like someone to take a look:
I have an Acer Liquid E700 (mt6582) which came with Android 4.4.2, and since Acer doesn't seem to want to update it, I decided to look for a custom rom and port it to my device. I successfully did it and I now have CM 12.1 on my device and pretty much everything works.
I managed to squash some bugs like the sensors not working and such, and now there's only one thing bothering me: I can't record videos and video playback is faulty too (I tried to attach an image but I don't know if it appears).
So I wanted to know what files to copy from the stock rom to the ported rom to fix this, something in the /system/lib folder maybe?
So if anyone knows a thing or two about rom porting for MediaTek devices... Yeah I need some help here

Hi, and thank you for using XDA Assist
Unfortunally there isn't a specific thread for your device, but the best way to get an answer is to ask over here > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!

Help fixing audio problems

Hello, im kinda new to developing and fixing bugs for new phones, i am trying to port a rom from the nubia z7 max(nx505j) to the nubia z7(nx506j) and i got most stuff working, except for the audio. Im using the original mixer_paths.xml in my build as most of the original audio policies. Where i am stumped is the audio_platform_info.xml, i cannot find this file in the stock rom, and the one from the nx505j device tree cannot help with the problem. Could any seasoned developer help with bringing up this file for a new device? Audio works in headphones, therefore its most likely a configuration issue getting it to work in speakers and microphones.
