How to delete "My Apps" from Android Market?

Ok, so since I change roms occasionally it is a pain to have my apps try and restore themselves everytime I start a new ROM. I'd be ok if it were just 50 or so apps, but it tries to install every app I have ever downloaded and that is a TON!
I know I can skip the sign in process and turn off "automatic restore" but is there a way to just delete the cache of apps that the Market thinks I want? That way I can allow the auto restore without having it force close my phone because its overloaded.

The only way i can think of is uninstalled each app via the market once it's installed. That will remove it from your account

Has anyone ever figured this out? I have tried uninstalling from "Manage applications" in settings. I have tried uninstalling from the marketplace app. I have went onto the website but there is NOTHING that you can do with the apps in your "My Apps" list.
I flash my phone a few times a month and I think it is nice that it will reinstall all your market apps but there are a LOT that I just install to try and then want them GONE forever. Has anyone ever figured this out?

There is no way to do it from what I can tell. It drives me nuts. I wish Google would fix this.

There is a toggle for it in privacy settings and if using a new gb release you get that option in the setup wizard too

Thanks, but I do not think that is exactly what I am looking for.
I use CM7 nightlies but a few times a month I like to clean house and reinstall. Yes I do get the option to either sync or not sync.... but both ways suck right now. If I sync then I have to go back and remove all the CRAP that is sitting out there... If I dont sync I have to go back and install all the Apps that I actually want from there....
Both way suck. What I want is to be able to remove the items in the list for restore. That is the part that Google needs to fix. It is just annoying as heck.

I believe that Google has said that if you uninstall an app that you did NOT purchase then it will be removed from your "My Apps" section within a week or so? Has anyone seen this?
As far as removing individual apps, perhaps the /data/data/com.android.vending/databases/market_assets.db file can be edited? I have found that deletion of this file, a reboot, then opening the android market; solves the "Missing My Apps" section on the market. I JUST did this solution, so I am not sure if this is a long term fix or not.
This issue in particular may be related to Titanium Backup Pro? Unsure, but I am a user if Titanium Backup
My point is, this database file has our market link data. Claerly when the data is broke the "My Apps" section is missing, yet perhaps there is a way to edit this file to hide a few apps from the "My Apps" section?
I can't post up links yet as I am still a new member, but if someone wants to view the .db files there is an application called "SQLite Database Browser" available on PortableApps dot com. This browser does not appear to show the actual data, only the tables and extents, yet this is at least a start... I believe there are linux database viewers that will actually show the data if desired

I found the Google link about removing downloaded apps. They simply say you can uninstall, and that there is no way to remove the apps from "My Apps" section on com.android.com

I am not sure if it is relevant but there is an option in Titanium Backup relating application's market link or something. May it be useful?

+1 on titanium backup... it has the option to unlink apps from market....

I know its a somewhat old thread but I myself would like to delete the "my apps" from play store... does anyone know if its possible?
Didn't find it in TB... but the way, doesn't it unlink only apps that you have installed?

Im looking for this feature also...Remove link from market...i don't have these apps installed anymore...

remove apps from my apps
Go to Google Play
Press the downloaded symbol (line with arrow above it) in the top left corner.
Slide over to "All"
To select, hold finger on an app.
Now you can just tap an app to add it to the list.
Repeat for all apps you want to remove.
Press remove in top left.
Done.
This is the fastest wayI have found but really it needs a webpage or something to quickly select from the THOUSANDS of apps cluttering the place.

That is not the true ....
( sorry for bad english, i am french and very angry )
I discovered today that Google lied a lot about removing unused app from his list ...
The app are just hidden for us, Google keep all in his database
i am so angry
i searched a way for blocking market to update itself automaticely, and i found here on this forum the way ( with chattr +i )
And go back to market 3.1.3
And i had big surprise when i saw all the app i had "removed" from list are still here ....

Installed programs not displaying in GPlay after Root

Just want to say that I have been reading this forum for a while now and now that the ICS OTA update for the sensation came out I mustered up the balls to root it.
SO... I really hope this hasn't been asked already because I swear I searched and googled.
I followed the guide which outlined how to root using HTCDev and the AIO Toolkit. Everything went smoothly and I sat down to begin reinstalling my apps.
I opened up GPlay Store and the installed list was empty. However, if I search for an app that like Google Maps it lists it as already installed.
In the past when I have reset the phone and opened GPlay store it would tell me I need to update every piece of software. This time it didn't. Its not a huge deal because I know what apps I need to upload and which apps I will remove but I thought it was a little strange and have concerns about how it may affect the phone.
Aside from that, it works like it did before except I notice memory usage is much lower which I assume is tied to this "issue".
Is this something I should be concerned with or is this an intended result of the rooting process?

you can try to fix the market issue by
1. delete your google account
2. clear data of playstore ---(settings->apps->all apps->play store)
3. re create your account and now check the installed apps

I accidentally found the problem.
I remembered I activated 2 step verification for my google account 2 nights ago. When I got ready do the updates I did not perform 2 step verification process because I figured I would setup my email last. Well I did all the updates I needed manually and setup my email. Soon as I did it, all the apps were instantly detected and updated.

What is the best way to remove pre-installed apps?
A. Find an app that can remove in the Play Store.
B. Remove them through Terminal.
Seems with the terminal is basically RM two files and fuggedaboutit. Is the underlying process any different or cleaner with an app?

"A" is best option as it removes the corresponding libraries of the app too if it has ( i use titanium backup for this )
Also you can just use file explorer too to remove an app (root explorer or es file explorer)

I really appreciate your assistance. You helped me find the last piece of the puzzle. I have finally been able to get rid of half the non sense t-mobile installs on this phone. Also, this place is second to none when it comes to the quality of the guides and dearth of information available.
I browsed for the thread regarding what is safe to remove but it seems to be old.

Slacker
Tmobile Face Chat

TeleNav GPS
Going to do another rom backup and kill off Google+, Google+ messenger, Play Movies, and Play Music.

Let me ask you another off-topic question.
Does it give me any benefit to S-Off my phone at this point in time?
Please confirm my thoughts:
1. In the future, if I keep this phone long enough, and I want to receive an OTA update from Tmo. I need to flash back to the stock recovery? This is assuming the phone is still S-On.
OR
2. I S-Off the phone and then flash a custom rom in the future.
OR
3. If I plan to receive an OTA update and the phone is S-OFF. Then I need to return it to S-ON as well as the previous steps.

Hello everyone! I am not new here,I have an old account "JBmorris", however i dont use it anymore.
Anyway, does anyone know iRoot(formerly Vroot)? If so. I'm going to need your help.
I am a person who almost often scans files before running them. So yesterday, I was download iRoot, and I scanned it, and it was detected as A virus called "Android:Agent-GYN [PUP]" (avast) and "Android/Spy.Agent.Y.Gen" (Avira).
It was scanned on virustotal.
I am afraid of hackers spying me.. can you clarify me? thanks.

As far as i know its safe to use iROOT (formerly VRoot) I used it before my my computer is free of viruses. Many root "exploits" are detected as viruses or PUP. Just disconnet your internet, disable AV for rooting, delete iROOT once done OR add iROOT to your AV's exceptions. BUT you should change the contained superuser app for SuperSU once rooted.

But what about the Android Spy Agent detections?

As I said, once the phone is rooted install SuperSU. SuperSU will prompt you to uninstall the crappy chinese superuser app and you're done

I used iRoot/VRoot but my phone got infected with something. After using the root application (which does work) it installed several more apps and I'm getting popups in my browsers and whatsapp. So far I haven't been able to remove it.

Any luck removing this? I tried using iRoot on my Galaxy S5 G900W8 and root failed, but I got a bunch of apps installed. The dam thing is in chinese and I can't read anything..... grr! This thing is sketchy... I'd say IF you're going to try it, do it NOT connected to internet (disable data/wifi) MAYBE then you wont get all these ****ty apps.....
but for me it has not worked thus far...

Happened to me yesterday. It was so painful! This junk installed 2 stubborn trojans in system/priv-app. Impossible to remove even with factory reset. It gains admin privileges, starts downloading crap from the net, fills the display with porn pics etc. Kingroot saved the day in the end! Managed to root my phone and clean the mess. It was a whole day battle.
BTW, credit to Stubborn Trojan Killer as well! It showed me the location, but wasn't able to clean because the phone wasn't really rooted.
Also, Total Commander was the only file manager capable of opening that dir without root.
P.S. First trojan was named "shell" and had version 1.0. The original shell app is higher version. That's how you know which is the good and which is the bad one. The other trojan was names something like xy_1_some digits. You should stop that "shell" crap immediately and disable it. It will be hard, but possible to do. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to do anything.

[Completed] Malware , 'anti-virus/cleanup' software uninstalls, returns during phone bootup

I have a phone which has been rooted due to a problem I encountered where I had to flash and re-install my Android thl5000 device. I have the ultimate v3 on it. It was fine until I again installed a dodgy application where I had to try to remove it via an anti-malware app. Out of my curiosity one of those applications was the cheetah and Go Security anti-malware app.
I searched the forum and could not find a similar issue.
Now all the anti-malware and anti-virus applications I have installed do not detect any malware on my phone. I have the stubborn trojan removal software which I also have used and still it has not detected anything. I have a web anti-virus security which has not detected any problem with my phone.
My problem is I have 3 applications that as a result of my lack of wisdom keep re-installing themselves upon bootup.

When my phone loads up I have 3 applications (which can be uninstalled without a problem apparently).
they are
"Go Security"
"Superb Cleaner"
"Ace Cleaner"
I have messaged the developers in their apps and they have not responded, once or twice the Go Dev for 'Go Security ' team got back to me about trying to help me permanently remove it but after several attempts of clearing the cache, the removing from google play and doing the same removal from safe mode and even trying from the root to find similar looking files, there seems to be no way to remove whatever is causing their re-installation.
The only application I have found that identifies the applications as low reputation apps is Sophos.
I will try the hummingbird application that someone suggested in another thread in the XDA assist ... hummingbad-malware-android-t3484704 .
It could be there is malware hidden behind these applications and I want to find the source of this and remove it. I am not sure how. I have a USB cable, I have mtk droid tools I think on my laptop, I have my phone on developer options.
When I uninstall the applications there seems to be no installation, either this is fake or it uninstalls part of the program and upon reboot calls the apk file responsible which is hidden deep in the phone.
In safe mode and all the other techniques I have not found a solution yet. On google there is a bit but nothing about this specific case and its source.
Any thoughts for those with a bit of experience would be grateful, I will also post this same post in the Sophos Security forum to see if their experts can offer any thoughts, in case anyone else has the same problem as me.

Greetings and welcome to assist. If you just want to remove those apps then there are a couple of very simple ways while you have root. You could just delete the apps with a root browser but the easiest would be to use titanium backup or anything similar to remove the apps

Titanium backup was able to uninstall the applications just like the other methods of uninstallation but after rebooting my phone the 3 applications re-install themselves.
Any other thoughts?

Have you tried to freeze them instead? If you actually know the package names it's easy to delete them with root browser

How do you mean freeze them?
What do you recommend? They cannot be force stopped, only uninstalled.

I just checked Titanium Backup to see if that is what you mean and realised you meant that.
I just checked and it said they can only be frozen in the version you pay/donate money for.
Any other way?
How to I isolate what causes them to be started up in the first place, like using MTK droid tools or something? What command is set by what program to call them to be installed so as to track down the culprit and file causing this problem.
It would help me and others who know not how to deal with it.

If you have root then their is an option in titanium backup to freeze the apps rather than uninstall them. This will prevent the app from starting

This is only available for the paid version. I tried it and I have root access since I allowed Titanium backup to have root facilities with SU User
Any thoughts?
Also how do I find out the reason they are starting up in the first place?
I can simply ignore them after uninstalling hoping my phone does not restart but this does not solve the issue at its core.

The android is upgrading message is probably because the apps have not been removed properly thats all so no do not worry its normal. Using titanium backup you should be able to find the actual name of the app and then actually delete them with a root browser. You can try similar apps to titanium back up like rom toolbox, package disabler or 3c toolbox to see if they can uninstall them or freeze them. It is a very easy thing to fix when you have the phone in front of you but harder to talk you through it unfortunately

I will try the applications you have suggested.
So far Root explorer does not really identify them apart from various folders, Titanium backup does not freeze them unless I donate money.... I would like to but kind of thinking having a limited budget long term to try to scrimp and save here and there.

Are Google TRYING to break rooted phones?

The other night I went to the Google Playstore to find an app' I wanted to try.
I found it but the phone was acting weird.
I did some checking and in Security/admin privileges I found something I'd never seen before.
It was called "Android Digital Management".
I searched around with my file explorer and found nothing.
Hmm?
I then removed the Playstore updates and disabled Play store and it's account manager ...... I always do to save power.
I went back and checked on ADM and it was gone.
My SD Maid app' was complaining about only a partial root as well as some of my other root apps' not working correctly.
Thank God for TWRP recovery.
I had a two week old backup that I installed from recovery and everything is great now.
Has anyone else ran into this?

I believe they are (just my opinion).
It really seems that the once touted "open source" OS is going the way of IOS for "security" reasons. I know this is a supposed to be for my protection but it is a serious curtailing of our ability to do as we please with our device.
Google took the first major step down the slippery slope of a locked OS when THEY decided we don't need an external sd card.
I know they're locking up security exploits but it really seems that soon what we loved about Android will be gone and it willl just be another OIS or Windows phone....

Ah,that sounds like it.
My bad.
I was so pissed after it happened,I guess I screwed up the name......you got the idea though.
If you uninstall the updates to the Google Play apps',that thing goes away.
I notice when I go to the Playstore that they like to update my app' resulting in phone restarts.
This time the last restart presented a PlayStore screen in a format I hadn't seen before.
That"s when everything went downhill.
