[Completed] Apk from CyanogenMod won't update - XDA Assist

Hi,
I am total rookie in this are and I have a small problem. I rebuilt CyanogenMod from source and added apk file that ships with it. It is a launcher app. When I go to Apps in Settings section of the phone I see that I only have App Info for my launcher and I cannot remove it or clear data, which is fine. But, I set this app to be updateable by HockeyApp (nice tool for enterprise apps) but when new update arrive, reinstall failed.
Can you please, help me out with this.
I am talking about CyanogenMod 13.0, for BQ Aquaris X5 model if that is of any help.
Thank you in advance,
Drasko

The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.

[Completed] [Q] Huawei Ascend G6-U251 firmware

Hello everyone,
The question I have is: where can I find the firmware for the Huawei Ascend G6-U251? it seems to be unavailable from the Huawei site and searches online mostly come up empty.
Is it technically possible for another user with the same phone model to extract the firmware from their phone (forgive my ignorance, I am still figuring out how installations and backups work and I am not quite clear yet on it all yet).
Some context about my situation if anyone cares to read through it all and make any suggestion.
Thank you all in advance.
After rooting and messing with my Huawei Ascend G6 I managed to get into a state where the phone is:
- rooted
- I am able to remove annoying bloatware apps
- I am able to move apps to the SD card to avoid the "not enough storage on device to install this app"
That's all nice, but in my enthusiasm I also removed an app called SystemUI.system.apk. I believe this app deals with the status bar, and my phone is now in a state where it starts up and generally works, but there is no status bar and there are no notifications.
I've spent a fair amount of time searching things online to get the status bar working again, but information is scant on this huawei model. There are no custom ROMS that I can install. So I started searching for the Firmware, to restore everything to its original state. The firmware I think is available on the huawei site, look for EMUI Firmware (I'd post the link but as this is my first post xda is preventing from doing so).
Note, one thing that took me a while to figure out is that the Huawei firmware is distributed under the EMUI name (huawei's android brand I think, correct me if I am wrong). I am currently downloading this:
Version: G6-L11/G6-L22/G6-L33,kernel.tar.gz
MD5: 022A448C0D1314F69F4266DE6FEAB4F1
Size: 108.60MB
although it doesn't list the U251 model, I'll give it a shot and see if I can pull just that SystemUI.system.apk file.
Also, for anyone going through the same pain of searching for this firmware or information on updates for the G6 - find the Huawei Ascend G6 group on facebook. It's quite active and seems to have good info on updates for the Ascend G6 (there is another post on xda pointing you to it).
Good luck and thanks.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately this isn't what XDA Assist is for, our purpose is to point people who don't know where to post in the right direction. Enter "cm device requests" into Google and the first result should be a link to a page where you can request CM to build for your device.
Good luck!
Thread closed, thanks.

[Completed] Which forum to find help or expert - Gionee GN715 with amigo ui

Dear all,
My phone is a Gionee GN 715. I have been days on a research and it's getting quite frustrating. On the bottom of this post you find the specs.
My main concern is where to post my question. For me, the phone is unusable as I cannot install android apps (like play store, Gapps). By default, I have to use Amigo UI, all in Chinese language.
Once in the correct forum, I can clarify the actions I have taken so far.
Android Version: 4.4.2
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-svn2313
Build number: SV1.5
System Version: amigo2.0.5 (GN715 Release Version)

How to fix Lineage Os 15.1 bugs ? Help please...

Hello,
I'm new in this forum.I want some help from developers. I'm using Xiaomi Redmi 5(rosy) which has Snapdragan 450 chipset. It comes with Android version 7.1.2 (Nougat). I want to upgrade to Android 8(Oreo) so I downloaded an Unofficial Build of Lineage OS 15.1 for my device. But after flashing I found camera, fingerprint sensor and all other sensors are not working . After booting it shows "A vendor image mismatch has been detected. Typically this means your vendor image is out of date. " . I don't know why it's showing this message.
I want to fix those bugs. How can I do that ?
Please help me.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for my bad English

I don't have this device but, the following area of the forum is specific to your device.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-5
With that guidance...
Purely as a personal opinion, I would really doubt that someone would be able to support a development that they didn't develop on top of your having an Unofficial release of the LineageOS 15.1 (rosy) when there's nothing on the forum regarding this release. Also, i had tried to perform a quick search to locate this using a few methods and was unable to locate anything to even refer you to.
I'm not stating that "Nobody" will help you out but, as a developer myself, I just feel that you would have a hard time to obtain assistance.
This is why I can only refer you to the link above that's specific to your device.
I wish you the best of luck!
