search on how to set up adb/fastboot on w8 here in xda
also check in youtube
Did you enable usb debugging from the phone settings? And is your fastboot folder complete with all the utilities?
The problem for me was unknown device under Win8.1

USB debugging shouldn't affect fastboot status. Only ADB.
Happy to help.
USB Debbuging should be enabled, I had the same issue with Win8.1 and use USB2.0 ports only, not USB3.0 and better not even a USB2.0 external Hub device.
Hi there! As from the subject, I got a N5 which I'm trying to unbrick using the flashtool + TOT + DLL procedure; the issue is, after installing all the necessary drivers, the phone should be recognized as LGE Mobile USB Serial Port, but mine is recognized as LGE AndroidNET USB Serial Port, plus it doesn't show the "download mode" picture; in this way, the flashtool gives an error as it can't recognize in which mode the device is set at the moment.
Any suggestions for this? I read pages and pages of threads but I didn't find anything that worked, perhaps someone bumped into this issue and can help me

After official update my phone was working perfectly and day after my phone died, no download mode, no recovery mode, no signs of life and at first pc detected it as qhsusb_bulk in device manager, now it says Unknown usb device( Device descriptor request failed) any ideas how to bring it back to life?
Hi everyone. I don't know what happened but when I tried to connect my S22 Ultra it won't show the File Folder. I checked the device manager on my laptop and it shows me this "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". I tried to reinstall Samsung driver and rebooted my phone and laptop but still It wont let me connect to my phone, phone is charging though but not file transferring. Any idea?

I tried everything already. I hard reset the phone via recovery mode as well no luck. So I can't flash it using Odin since it won't detect my phone. Very sad. Anyone has the same problem with mine? I'm gonna contact samsung about this and return it.
