Nexus 5 stuck, LGE Androidnet USB serial port - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there! As from the subject, I got a N5 which I'm trying to unbrick using the flashtool + TOT + DLL procedure; the issue is, after installing all the necessary drivers, the phone should be recognized as LGE Mobile USB Serial Port, but mine is recognized as LGE AndroidNET USB Serial Port, plus it doesn't show the "download mode" picture; in this way, the flashtool gives an error as it can't recognize in which mode the device is set at the moment.
Any suggestions for this? I read pages and pages of threads but I didn't find anything that worked, perhaps someone bumped into this issue and can help me

[Q] Anybody have luck using QPST with WP 7 phones?

As the title says, anybody have any luck using QPST with Windows Phones? I managed to get my Trophy into bootloader mode and recognized as "HTC USB Sync" but unfortunately wasn't able to configure it for connection via USB serial.
This QPST working for all Devce Qualcomm.
but not for all....
have you try to dial ##MFG# ? then enable diag mode..lucky you, Verizon MSL is 000000 .. I'm on Sprint, which is not using standard MSL
Yes, you must run phone in Diagnostic Mode etc.
I could get my focus into usb serial mode, but unfortunately Samsung Driver pack didn't even have the driver for it. Also the phone recognized as "PROTOTYPE something ... " in device manager.

You not must install new driver etc.
All Phone Quallcom, have a Factory Test Mode, then in this moede you connect yours device in QPST. This not a bootloader mode, this program reconnect device from FTM -> to BL etc..
You must have a. hex file, for your device.
for me this is a NPRG8650.hex - of course, is needed only when, you want reupload partition etc.

[SOLVED] [HELP] USB NOT working again?

Hi, I bought some months ago my LG Optimus 3D.
I rooted it, installed CWM recovery, and flashed a custom rom (after trying a bit ones).
But when I tried to connect my new-customized optimus 3d as a usb mass storage it didn't work anymore: my PC seemed like to not recognize my o3d, even if it installed the following drivers:
LGE Mobile Composite USB Device
LGE mobile USB Serial Port (COM47)
LGE mobile USB Modem
Anyway, I managed to flash the stock firmware with LG FlashTool. Everything worked well, but when I tried to connect my stock o3d to the computer... the USB was still broken!!
Then I sent the phone to LG; they said me they have reflashed the stock rom, and that my phone hadn't got any problem.
Anyway I got it back: I tried to reconnect the phone to the PC and magically the USB was working!
So, I rooted it and tried a few custom rom..... at the first time the usb was working very well, but after some days I got the same problem: now the USB doesn't work anymore, and I don't want to flash a stock rom...
Any suggestion? What should I do in order to fix my USB connection?
I tried to connect the phone with different usb cables, and in five different PCs (LG drivers were installed in every PC).
The PCs seem to recognize my O3D as:
LGE Mobile Composite USB Device
LGE mobile USB Serial Port (COM47)
LGE mobile USB Modem
instead of:
LGE Android Platform Composite USB Device
LGE Android Platform USB Modem
LGE Android Platform USB Serial Port
LGE Android Platform USB GPS NMEA Port
Android PlatformSooner Single ADB Interface
LGE Cosmo USB Device
LGE CosmoExt USB Device
(I got that list when I connected the phone after I've got it back from LG)
I dunno i am noobie on this, check my post count..
But try to disable USb debugging..
Yeah, I tried to connect the phone with both enabled and disabled usb debugging. I also tried to mount the usb through CWM recovery but nothing.. It doesn't work.
The last thing I've done before the usb stopped working was flashing the CWM touch recovery through PC...

Of course I did it!
The easiest way would be to uninstall ALL LG drivers.
Then reinstall after a reboot.

I don't think this will solve the problem... but I'll try!
The strangest thing is that LG FlashTool lets me flash a stock rom and a different baseband... So, it cannot be a hardware problem!
Ok guys I SOLVED THE PROBLEM!
The solution was to take out the battery for 10 minutes.
When turned on and connected, the USB worked properly!
P.S.: I don't know why...

[Q] Drivers to access O3D via ADB through ClockWorkMod

Hi guys, I need your help.
I installed ClockWorkMod v6.0.1.9. I've done that with wkparts omaptools and fastboot. Any doubt, take a look at this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045942
and this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1978543
Ok, thats fine, it worked. Now, when I boot into recovery mode (Holding VOLDOWN + 3D + Power) I get into ClockWorkMod.
So, I connect the USB cable in order to access the phone via ADB. But, when I look into device manager, there is a unknown device called "LGE COSMO USB Device" and I couldn´t figure out what driver I have to install. I installed LG United Driver and it didn´t work.
Any suggestion? Thks

hmm looks interessting, i think you dont have a p920.
ok try a different way.
deactivate on your phone usb debugging.
plug your phone to the pc.
now you should have 2 unkown devices. one cdc serial and one lg cosmo usb device.
that lg cosmo usb device that you now see is Platform USB Modem.
now look at that device instance path and take a note.
now activate usb debugging again. plug phone to pc.
now you should have 3 unkown devices. one cdc serial and two lg cosmo usb device.
look again at the device instance path and if the current matches your note, you have found the "Platform usb modem" again. install driver for it
the other one should be the "android sooner singel adb interface".should be the same also in recovery.

But I can´t desactivate USB debugging because I can´t access android in normal mode. I only can access android on Recovery Mode (ClockWorkMod).
I need to install some kind of driver to access the phone using ADB while in ClockWorkMod. I guess this is possible (I read this at http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/ClockworkMod_Recovery).
The problem is: when i connect the phone on PC while in ClockWorkMod there is a device called "LGE COSMO USB Device" and i didn´t find any driver that match.

Hi,
I installed this two drivers:
LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497CA20_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0
LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497MA20_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0
Is that correct?
None of them worked. When I go to device manager, there is still a device called "LGE COSMO USB Device".
Read and follow all details carefully and it will work. You will need to change port to 41 as well as force omap4430 driver to install so it stops blinking.

Hi drastic00, I really appreciate your help and attention.
Let me try to explain my problem: I can´t turn on the phone in normal mode and, of course, I can´t follow your steps. The phone is locked, there is a password to unlock the screen. So, I can´t desactivate the USB debugging because I do not have access to Android.
The only way I have to boot the phone is in recovery mode (ClockWorkMod). But, I need to access the device to copy the data. And it is possible to do that using ClockWorkMod and ADB. The problem is: when I boot my cell phone into recovery mode (now on screen I see the options of clockworkmod) and plug the usb cable, then there is device "lge cosmo usb device" and i can´t access the phone via ADB. I typed "adb devices" and the answer was nothing...
None of the driver install steps require phone to be booted; all driver install steps require battery to be out of the phone. So why can you not install drivers?

I installed all the drivers. When I connect the phone of my friend (a p920 too), it works fine! I can also access his phone using ADB.

Bricked Phone USB not recognized by PC

Need help. I was using Miracle Box to flash stock ROM, I don't know how but the phone (Micromax E453) is bricked now. I tried to start phone in Meta Mode (swiched off phone connected to PC by holding volume up button), it worked once, then following some tutorials I uninstalled (and checked, Delete the driver software for this device) MTK USB COM driver under port. Since then phone is not turning on and PC is not recognizing the device. Tired changing the USB cable and even tried it on another laptop, but no go. Kindly share what else I can try. PC has Windows 10 64 bit and MTK preloader vcom driver always has yellow exclamation mark (always installs with error code 10). I have disabled driver signature verificiation.

Did you have USB debugging enabled in the device's system settings before it got bricked? If not, you might not get it to connect via USB and be recognized.

Thank you for your response. Yes, USB debugging was enabled before it got bricked. I was able to successfully see my device when I ran adb -devices command. I was also able to run fastboot commands. Now its completely dead.

windows not recognizing device?

Trying to unlock bootloader, upon opening command prompt via minimal adb fastboot, after entering "fastboot flashing unlock" instead of completeing the process, I'm getting a "waiting for any device" message instead.
I'm unsure if this newly discovered usb 3.1 port on my pc is even the right port for this usbc cable, as I've never used it before now.
Windows recognizes it as MTP usb , but I can't access anything, it's empty when I open it. So I don't know if it's the wrong port, and maybe I actually need to buy a USB to usbc cable from Google (tried the one that came with my V30, got same message) or if it's something else I'm missing.

hey thanks, that worked. Considering I've only had 3 rooted phones in the last maybe 8 years, I tend to forget those prerequisites
