I just got my Mate 8 last Dec 2016. I noticed that there are times that I need to touch/tap the screen twice or thrice before it works. Example I am just browsing the web or browsing file, there were times that I will need to click twice to open a folder or to select an icon or item. Is this something normal? or my handset is faulty? any work around or easy fix on this? Hope you can help me. Thanks much.

hello all,
It has been 2 weeks since I have update my OS to version 5(Lollipop) and in the last days i have experienced problem with apps that are installed in my phone. Once i open an app after 30s it will go away in background without any action from me. Yesterday i got an update for chrome and it made it worse, now i do have problem with keyboard it doesn't show in some cases were i do have to insert password.
Is there any solution to such problems?
best regards,

Since updating to Lollipop I've also experienced a number of issues, including laggy home screen (it's blank for a second or two before the icons start loading, whereas before it was immediate) and huge number of Chrome crashes. Anyone know if there's anything we can do, or should we expect an update from Google?

Hi,
as i was not able to get any info regarding how to solve the issue, i did Factory Reset.
at the moment problem seems to be solved, i have left not installed now only 3-4 apps which I had before when the problem started.
2 hours after the operation finish i got nearly 10 google apps aupdate, chrome was one of them. it doesn't crash any more, keaybord shows up and works.
Also menu button works perfectly, when i press it all the apps show immediately, its doesn't take like 10-15sec for the apps to show up.
I do recomand to perform factory reset.
regards,
Hi all, I did a search with no luck, so hopefully this is a valid question!
I have a weird problem with my moto G3 2015 and was hoping you guys wouldn't mind reading about and possibly offering some kind of advice if it's not too much trouble.
Every so often, I'd say at least once a day, the screen becomes unusable until I press the power button a couple of times (to turn the screen off and on again). Even when I do this quick fix, the problem comes back very shortly afterwards. It only goes away after 10 minutes or so, or if I get annoyed and put my phone away. I thought this was a hardware issue but don't believe that now due to the following:
1. It is a different problem depending on the app I am using. In facebook, scrolling is no longer smooth, and doesn't continue scrolling if I flick down the feed. It only scrolls down while my finger is actually on the screen. I am also unable to actually 'click' on anything, only scroll. In Brave (my browser) it acts as if I've just double tapped the screen, as in if I move my finger down it zooms in, and if up then it zooms out. In snapchat when watching a friend's story it acts as if I've held down on the screen in order to forward their snap to somebody else, and then it doesn't respond at all to any touch.
2. The 3 buttons at the bottom are always functional no matter what
3. If the problem begins when I'm in an app, if I go to my home screen, I am able to navigate my home screen and app drawer with no problems. It's as if the problem is contained within the apps.
This started a few months ago while I was running the copy of android that the phone came with. I put on lineage OS (lineage-14.1-20170629-nightly-osprey-signed) and pico gapps (open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20170629). This seemed to fix the problem for a while but then it started again a week or so in.
The fact that the problem is only happening while I am in the apps, and disappears when I exit out of them makes me think it can't be a hardware issue? I am also no expert with phones or android, but am somewhat experienced in rooting and playing with settings etc. (I'm not sure if it happens in other apps I'm afraid, I can test if need be next time it happens).
Thanks so much for any help, and please let me know if there is any more info I can give you!
P.s. The new ROM is much better than the old one.! The battery definitely drains faster though, but that's a whole other problem

That is actually typical behavior on older devices using as many social media apps as you're using. Especially Facebook and Messenger if you're also using it.
Have you tried booting to recovery and wiping cache when this happens?

Thanks for replying!
When I flashed lineage OS I believe I wiped the cache. I will do it again though to see if it helps.

Yeah, you wipe cache when you flashed, or at least you should have.

Hi there
If the issue was software related, a change of rom should have solved it.
If the issue is kernel related, all users must face the same issue...but that is still not the case.
So This might be an issue with the screen being old. When the power consumption fluctuates, lcd screens can misbehave.

I had brought my OP7 Pro from the community drop, and moved from a OP5. After the first day I noticed a box that popped up on the screen saying 'Thank you for the feedback', so far this has happened in the file manager, home screen and speedtest (Ookla). What I don't understand is where this pop-up like thing has originated from, as I have the exact same setup and apps I had on my OP5 which never had this issue. It flashes randomly about 40-50 times in about 5-7 seconds then just disappears. (Image below is what I could screenshot before it went away)
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Thanks in advance!

That's the problem though, I've had no phantom touch issues, its the same pop-up in multiple apps or even no apps open which I find even stranger.
I have this problem from 1 year, from the day i bought the phone til now ive installed all updates.
Using chrome, after a while, 10 minutes or 1 hour, the page look like freezed, i try to scroll or touch but nothing.
I need to go to another app and come back (also just go to thumbnail view and back) then i see again the page and i see it scrolled until bottom if i did it when it was freezed. I mean that when the page freeze actually is working if i scroll or tap the page change but i need to change app and come back to see. It just appened right now
I've tried chrome beta and dev, same thing
Anybody knows about it?

I have the same problem! It's annoying as hell and I haven't found a solution. It's awesome phone otherwise but this one thing ruins the experience.
I found the solution
In chrome://flags find the "Android SurfaceControl" flag and disable it.
I have updated my poco x3 nfc to 12.0.8.0 a couple of weeks ago and since 2 days, my phone goes nuts everyone once in while. all the sudden apps begin to open up randomly, so fast that the screen flickers. it seems like some one is touching the screen at 100 miles per hour. some setting gets changed and apps get messed up with different configurations. all happens fast and randomly. it has happened 3 times already and i had to restart the phone to get it in functioning mode again. just now my phone experienced ghost touch but in a very slow and mild way. i could not use my gesture controls correctly and when i would type , 2 letters would type in at the same time or a wrong letter all together. this has been happening for 3 days in a row now. I have restarted the phone, scanned for viruses, cleared the chache and optimized the phone.
please explain this phenomenon and how i can correct it?
thanks in advance

Looks like a faulty digitizer.
Got the same problem on mine and also connected it to 12.0.8.0. Hoping an update will solve it...
Got the new EU android 11 update and hoped the issue would be resolved. It was not, so now I'm looking into warranty to see if they'll do something with the screen...
