Call recording based on time of day - General Questions and Answers

Does anyone know if an app exists where you can set to record all calls based on time of day? Have a unique job requirement for this.

[Request] App idea to a dev...maybe

Hi community,
A few days ago I saw a thread asking for some app ideas.
But unfortunately now I can't find it.
However my idea is as below.
1. An app which can activate a background sound during a call which will be able to heard from the other party of the call. For example if we activate a rain sound the other party listening will think I am in a rain situation. Or may be a urban town sound. without using network just to run from local phone.
2. An app to receive calls and save them as voicemail after several number of rings. Actually I personally think it's a waste to pay mibile companies for voicemail when we can totally save the voice cuts to our local phone. Again this app also without using network connectivity just run using the local mobile.
So above are my requests.
They might sound silly to most of you or may be they are already there which I am not aware of.
If so please share your knowledge in a comment.
Thanks xda community for giving me a chance to share my idea.

Best Phone Number Blocker

I get some numbers I need to block. What's the best one out there. Thanks
Calls blacklist. you also can block sms its nice lol
I use root call blocker pro. Been using it for years. Works awesome.

I used ones that are built into the roms.. haha free and works...
'Call Master' is the best.
I agree Call Master is amazing.
Mr. Number

Cataclysm rom has call blocker build in..

root call blocker blocks phone numbers so fast that it appears to be a busy line at the other end vs a ring then block like other free apps
but if u just want a basic one then pretty much all the free blockers are the same in terms of performance
Call Master performs above all the rest in performance and its bugless to me; especially if you set it correctly. I am glad the dev takes his time perfecting his app.

If you use Google Voice, you can use the GVoice app to block any number by marking it as "Spam".

How can I make video calls? I don't see any options in the dialer app. I am using stock 4.4.4

Hangouts, tango, Skype. There is no option in the stock dialer app for video calls.
I think the standard video calls fell out of favour several years ago so some don't bother adding it as a feature

So there aren't any way to video call a phone number at the moment. I just asked because one of my friend misses this feature.

I'm not aware but if the networks still support it, perhaps 3rd party apps will be able to help?

The network supports it. Me and my friend haven't find any 3rd party dialer app or anyithing. It is a pretty useless feture for me, because video call price is high, but for my friend in the country where he lives the price of the video call is the same as the normal call.
I read it somewhere that video call is not supported at all in the USA through carrier networks. I think that could be the reasone why it is missing. D820 and D821 share the exact same software.
I think its missing because no one really uses it. About 10 years ago, it was popular for about year but after that no one used it really as its pretty pointless. Particularly now we have better data infrastructures and people can use their allowance

So... Obviously, you got to gain the root in order to get desired voice call recording. Go ahead, it's easy to do.

So rooting is the only option ??
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
My phone is rooted since day 0 - a little effort gives a lot of advantages, including backup/restore ability, ad blocking, voice recording and so on.
So i don't have an idea of there's any chance to make the recording work somehow without root.
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Free mobile app
I want to avoid rooting it... Are you 100% sure that there is really no option other than rooting ?

Bump.
Please reply..
Will rooting my MOTO G fix my problems ?

when i got my first moto g, it could record any call from voice_call source, no root needed. now with my second one (same model, same carrier xt1032) i cant catch voice_call source with any app, root or non root. i guess it all depends on your device.

Native SMS & Call Blocking

Hi! Is there any plans for Google adding up this feature on Android L? This I actually found to be useful due to annoying spam SMS and marketing calls I have been receiving.
I know there's a 3rd party app but they are causing battery drain and isn't reliable. I've used this feature on my iPhone 5S through IOS 7 though and would like to see it implemented on Android. ✌?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Pro
We don't know anything Google plans in advance unless they announce it officially. If battery drain is your concern, perhaps custom Roms are your future
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Thanks for the input, I guess that's the least working option. ?

I use slimkat, and it is included in that rom. Prior to that, I was using xposed and the module called blacklist.

So far Android doesn't have it baked in. Apps like Truecaller work well and in my experience, don't drain too much juices as well!
