Hey Xhozi,
Sorry to hear about that bootloop issue.
For starters if it is a brand new phone with warranty, give it back and get it repaired. They might give u a brand new one (if they do then please dont upgrade it to Android 6).
(At your own risk ->)if you don't have warranty, try downgrading the boot loader and System to Android 5.1.1.
If that doesn't work then, i don't know what to do. Cause I am having the same issue, weirdly if i keep mine in the freezer it works for an hour or half and then again restarts .

There is a long thread concerning this issue, and for me I got the problem solved, but you never know. Just see here https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/help/mm-update-lockscreen-set-to-fingerprint-t3366375 and give it a try.

Your phone is probably no longer unlocked. It needs to be done again probably.

Unless it keeps rebooting about a minute after being on then you have that mm bug and need to let the phone die completely and then charge until about 10 and see if fixed if not try again, make sure its completely dead before seeing if fixed.

P8Max DAV-703L rollback to Android 5

Hello,
I recently "upgraded" to Android 6 and I hate it. Not only do I not like it but my phone is very unstable and reboots and random intervals. Battery drain is also insane, lasting only 1 day.
Please let me know how to rollback to previous Android version. I am willing to donate for an answer that works.
Thanks!

1: make sure you have stock recoveries in place (both "recovery" & "recovery2" partitions)
2: have the stock b029 full rom (links available @xda or needrom.com) in the following folder on your sdcard: dload/UPDATE.APP
Make sure this is the extracted file from the zip, not the zip itself
3: power off your phone, press volume down+up+power until you enter eRecovery mode
Happy flashing
In case your phone doesn't recognize the update package, you can download it directly from your phone:
when rebooting, ensure your phone is plugged in via USB to your PC
No luck, bro. Same as before. Phone checks the file, goes from 1 to 4% and then at 5% (when it says "Installing") it says Update Failed. Reboot now.
Tried with eRecovery also (volume+ and USB cable inserted). It connects to WiFi but can't find any package.
I think the only option is to sell the phone and buy a new one with the factory firmware.
Lol, that's not the only option. Download Huawei firmware extractor, extract boot.img, recovery.img, cust.img, cache.img and userdata.img from the B028 firmware (not b029)(you can skip system.img). Use adb and fastboot to flash those files. After you flashed then repeat the firmware flash procedure with firmware b028 in dload folder and vol- vol+ and Power buttons. Did a rollback several times, worked every time for me.
EDIT:
Also here is a more detailed description:

You need your bootloader unlocked. You can use dc-unlocker to do that. It will cost you 3$ or 3€ and 10 minutes of your time:
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/how-to-read-huawei-bootloader-unlock-code
Still more convenient that reselling the phone.
I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. But I guess there is no cure for stupidity, since every time I "upgraded" my phones ever since the Galaxy Note N7000 got Android 4, they always ****ed it up, every single manufacturer. They're not at fault here, I'm the idiot who never learns his lesson.
So yeah, selling my phone it is since if you unlock the bootloader, you lose the warranty and that will make my phone sell for dirt-cheap, since I cannot use it with Android 6.
Thank you all for your help but it looks like this is the only option.
The first chance I get (someone makes a similar-sized device) I will abandon Huawei. Hardware is great but the software is utterly horrid! No-name chinese phones have much better software support than they have.

Unlocking the bootloader doesn't invalidate the warranty, so you're good to go. I for myself love the P8 max, hardware and software. The B029 works extremely good for me after customizing it a bit to fit my needs. There is no reason for me to update to Android 6 since everything works so flawlessly.
If you want to keep the size and don't go any smaller, one of the acceptable alternatives is the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra, even thou I prefer the design of the P8 max.
Unfortunately, in my retarded country (Romania) I have to call Huawei to get the bootlocker unlock code, which by their terms in this ****ty country, invalidates the warranty. I've been through this nightmare before, with the DAV-701L in which I had to call in UK to get an unlock code, which they even said that I will lose the warranty.
These guys ****ed something up because, here's the kicker : you have to get the unlock code FROM Huawei, which invalidates the warranty. But to invalidate the warranty, you need permission from Huawei. **** logic.
The Zenfone is looking mighty delicious, you know. Thanks for the tip!

I must admit that I'm not overhappy with 6.00.
In exchange of a few new feature I lost root and things aren't so smooth anymore. Gonna roll back as soon as I receive my Xiami Max as a backup phone. Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra will be my next buy, but waiting for a phone so long it's a pain in the ass.. they shouldn't announce models months before they can release them. Like HP Elite X3 (January and just coming to shops) or LeTv X910 (which never saw the light) ?
hi guys,
I apologize for resurrection of this thread but does anyone know the location of the stock b029 full rom file ?
I do remember I was running MM and I want to give my P8 max to my niece but unfortunately it's missing OS.
I could install twrp and I was searching for the file but the links are dead and I think this would be the best place to ask.
Anyway, thanks in advance and sorry for bumping up 2 years old thread.
Peace

what are the step I should take to make my phone work again?
thanks
turn off the phone and turn it on again and wait it took about 10-15 minutes to boot.....the error at 45% is normal and all is allready flashed.
thanks for the reply
Now I got panasonic firmware on (which the sim still not working)
but I was able to install twrp.
im not sure which firmware I should install next?
With TWRP installed, you could try this custom ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/development/rom-6045-spb-1-0-stock-stable-fast-oc-t3392375
Hi
I did install MM from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/development/rom-firmware-android-6-0-marshmallow-t3398038
and supersu also from same thread it seem to work normaly.
I think I may have lost LTE radio to my provider (videotron in québec) but I don't have a data plan so not a problem
But if anyone know how to make LTE work again ill be glad to have it

Someone HELP!!!

Hi all,
I'm having a nightmare of a time with my Galaxy S7... For some unknown reason I decided to root my phone about 2 months ago using CF Auto Root.. worked great.. This morning, was having bad lag issues, so I restarted the phone.. as soon as the Samsung logo came up, I got a red message at the top of the screen saying "Custom Binary locked by FRP".. kind of freaked out and booted the phone into Recovery mode.. wiped Cache and wiped phone (to go back to factory setting I guess).. restarted... since then, I had no boot.. it did loop for a while as I was trying to charge the phone.. but that's it.
Now, the only way the phone will power on is if I plug it into my computer in Download Mode. I am trying to flash the ROM, custom or stock, but Odin fails almost as soon as it starts the sboot.bin and the phone screen shows "SW REV. CHECK FAIL (BOOTLOADER) DEVICE: 6, BINARY: 1".. Also, When I try to power on the phone, it HAS to be plugged in to my computer or charger cable and it just loops with a message at the top of the screen.
I can't do anything with this phone and cant find any solutions online... please help! :crying:
PM me for images of all screens please
I had the some problem while playing with my handset I switched off OEM unlock for some reason under developer option..
Next time i reset my handset it stuck on that warning
You need to download combination file, flash it with odin, then unlock developer mode, toggle OEM unlock, than flash back your current firmware, or if you have full twrp back up restore it

This problem appears on the forum over and over. Its a direct result of not understanding what type of S7 you have and what you need to do before modification.
The error you have in Odin means the firmware you are trying to flash is older than the bootloader file on your device. You can never downgrade a bootloader only upgrade.
In your case you need to flash a firmware version 6 or above for your device. So if you have a branded T Mobile for example you will need to download and flash T Mobile firmware version 6 or above. The firmware must also be for your region where you live.
The FRP lock is because you didn't sign out of, or remove the Google account on the device before modification. Its a security feature. It will still appear after you've flashed firmware but as long as you know the email and password the phone will start fine.

Dammit.. I tried to put as much detail as possible in there lol.. obviously I forgot some.. My mistake the Galaxy s7 that I am using is a Rogers Mobile (Canada) SM-G930W8. As for not signing out before modification, omfg, that makes perfect sense.. didn't even think of doing that before rooting.. I appreciate the help!! I will give this a go and see what outcome I get.. Thanks!
[/COLOR]That was nice of you to respond so helpfully, despite you having seen the scenario posted over and over.

The S7 didn't receive Android 9 so the ROM is a custom one. Any issues with custom ROM's should be asked on the ROM thread itself where you got the ROM from. It's quite normal for custom ROM'S to have bugs.
You can try flashing the ROM (Android 9 Pie) again to see if it works. If not there are several different A9 ROM's to choose from.

i want to load some firmware on my s8 g950fd with odin but my phone keeps coming up with errors
any idea what it means?
and the main problem is my bootloader kinda got problems suddenly my phone stopped responding and turned off too a bootloop
oem is not unlocked and usb debuging is of i managed to reset factory but system is not booting i only have access to bootmenu and download mode my firmware was up to date so there is no way to downgrade to a version before 2019 may updates
after dayus of struggling i gave it to a store they managed to run some firmware on it but when it booted as the first incident after some minutes it stuck and started a bootloop im guessing its because of bootloader firmware tried every way and i was trying combination firmware that might have worked now it gives the error mentioned up there which means my binariers doesnt match whit the firmware any other ideas are welcome
and if you know a way to try a new bootloader i would be happy
and also in bootmenu botom it is written "E:[libfs_mgr]is_dt_compatible(): firmware info was not valid: '/proc/dvice-tree/firmware/android/compatible': no such file or directory"
