G930W8 on Bell - no lte, emergency calls only - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

There are two S7 flats in my house. My phone often displays the "emergency calls only" message and will not connect to LTE. Only hspa+. I only made a few calls lately and most have been fine, except today I had to try a call twice after watching my phone sit and not connect a call.
My wife's phone is fine. I've tried rebooting and it does fix it for a while, then it eventually does the same thing again.
Earlier before a reboot I tried forcing LTE in service mode, but it wouldn't grab a signal.
Anyone else have these symptoms?
I'm on latest stock mm.

[Q] HELP, Phone stuck on Emergency Calls Only

Hi,
I am actually on holiday, and for the first few days my nexus s (running masters deodexed 2.3.3 with voodoo kernel) was working fine. However for the last day and half, it has been stuck on Emergency Calls only. I have tried everything to fix it, switching to airplane mode, full reboot, going into settings, wireless and networks and manually selecting a network but it still only remains in Emergency mode only.
I pressed *#*#4636#*#* and under phone information, GSM service says Emergency Calls Only
I have tried switching off and on the radio and fiddling with the preferred network type but nothing seems to work. I dont know if this is a roaming issue (i dont think it is because it was working fine initially abroad) but any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Hi, I am having this same problem too. I have the Nexus S from Koodo and it seems like it doesn't "like" my simcard. I also have a fido simcard on me and the Nexus S works fine on my Fido simcard. Today i went to a Koodo store and tried another one of the simcards and it didn't work either. So far I think my Nexus S is defective. You can PM me your email if you like if you want to see if i fix it.

[Q] Q: 3G deactivates signal

After multiple flashes I ended up with a KIES update, as I couldnt find my country firmware anywhere (NORDIC NEE).
After the KIES update, whenever 3G is active on phone, it shuts off data and goes to emergency calls only. If I active 2G only, after a while it turns on edge and its possible to make make calls again.
I tried flashing multiple times with different firmware and nothing helps.
Also, I send the phone to rep. and after 2 weeks I got it back with exactly same error.. I dont think they did anything but activate "2G only" feature, stupid #%#%#
Any ideas and I mean ANY IDEAS is very appriciated..

[Q] No SMS while on wifi, can't switch from wifi to cellular

My Nexus 5 is running Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop). Unlocked, not rooted. My carrier is Cricket. Here is what happens:
1. If the phone is connected to a WiFi network, I am unable to send text messages. The message will attempt sending for a while and then basically timeout. The app will report that the send failed. This will happen no matter what application I use (Hangouts, Google Messenger, chompSMS...). If I'm on the cellular network, texts send find. EDIT: Actually I'm seeing that's not actually true. Even when I'm on LTE, there's no guarantee messages will send. I can't actually detect a pattern here.
2. I am unable to switch from WiFi to cellular data by turning WiFi off. If I'm on WiFi and I disable Wifi in the Settings panel, the cellular indicator will change to show 2 or 3 bars of service with an exclamation point (!), seemingly indicating that I'm either not on the network or that I don't have data. If I reboot the phone I'll have full LTE.
I first started noticing the issues with text messaging back when I was running CM11 nightlies. Everything was fine and then a few weeks ago it started happening. I figured something had gotten messed up in those builds so I flashed to stock Lollipop but the problem persisted. I flashed to 5.0.1 and the problem remains. I also tried switching carriers from Cricket to T-Mobile, but T-Mobile service was so bad in my area that I had to switch back the next day; I didn't really get a chance to put it through its paces.
I know this is a weird one, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Help with s8+ roaming connectivity

I am currently in Italy using a Vodafone UK sim card, it's been working perfectly (apart from randomly dropping complete signal periodically) but now it's just completely died, as in it won't find a signal at all to connect to any network let alone data roaming. I have contacted Vodafone who said there's nothing wrong at their end and the worst thing is it was working perfectly till this evening. So now it sometimes says emergency calls only or just the ring with a line through it as it cannot find any signal at all. I have tried doing manual network operator selection and automatic but still nothing... Any ideas? It's a g9550 128/6gb
Update I now have 3g data but it says "no network connection" and I cannot send receive texts or phone calls, yet I have full data...
@nugget123
Consequences of buying a CN/HK variant....
They usually have network connectivity issues, not surprising. Try removing the SIM card, turning the phone off, wiping cache in recovery, insert the SIM card, and then reboot. Then manually go and search for a network in settings and force it to connect to Vodafone Italy, should work.
It's working now again, I didn't do anything lol it just started working on its own accord! I'm now in Switzerland and all is good. My life is empty without my phone
It always happens to me when abroad. I am on O2. I have to select network manually and pickup different to the one which auto connect shows emergency calls only. Looks like some cells allowing me to connect but won't pass through calls
Do you also have a usa/china variant?
No, o2 UK from Samsung

Wifi calling randomly reverts back to cell signal only on MetroPCS

I'm running stock Pie on a regular Pixel 2 and am having some trouble with WiFi calling. It'll show that it's connected at the bottom for a while after a reboot like in the picture but then randomly revert to only saying MetroPCS and not send or receive texts or calls when I'm in a dead network area. I've reset network settings and downloaded the carrier service app but I'm stuck and frustrated now. Any ideas?
Now I'm off again even though it's still enabled
