Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10
This is a completely custom Android rom for TP2. This installs and runs android without booting into Windows Mobile. There is no option to boot to Windows Mobile. It is useless because of all the stuff I removed. Rom was 35MB until I added Android to it. If you have an existing Android build on your SD card, and you want to save it, backup all android files into a new folder before flashing. This will overwrite your current Android build. To read the rom version, 1.XX.XX.XX is my version number, and the rest is the date of the Android build.
Of course, this still has its limitations. Please see port status below to find out.
To install:
Flash like you would any other rom. When asked to click next on first boot, tap next. Then you will boot straight into Android after that.
All bugs are in the development of Android. None are part of my build. To see the current build status of what I am using, go to http://www.androidonhtc.com/wiki/Port_Status
To install additional apps, add the apk file to your sd card under "\storage card\Android\androidapps". Browse to that folder in Android and tap on the file you want to install. To download known working apps go to http://www.ppcgeeks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113463
Where I got the information and all appropriate appreciation for the work done. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=115443
If you have data issues, remove your sim card and boot again. Android 2.1 rom is coming too

I have a SIM card in my sprint tp2. I am assuming that everyone has one by default from their service provider.

Says the douche with AT&Ts inferior service.
I have dual sim Lenovo P780.
PROBLEMS:
DEFAULT SIM SLOT (supports WCDMA and GSM) - works fine only on WCDMA /3G. When I put it on "GSM only" it goes dead - "connection error", "emergency calls only" and all that.
SECOND SIM SLOT (which is GSM only) doesn't work att all.
The sim cards are fine (checked it on other phones).
I also put other sim cards in my phone (and swich them around) => same result - sim 1 only 3G, sim 2 dead
Both of them see the providers but have no signal on gsm/2G mode.
Thanks,
Same problem here?
Any workarounds yet?
Cheers
i have the same problem and I cannot find a solution...

I cant find another one, only for S920.
This is my P780 (S920, S820 are compatible) modem collection :
modem P780.zip
http://www51.zippyshare.com/v/55282913/file.html
But:
1. For Chinese model I recomend V51 or V52 ( on the battery is written in chinese). Both sims works but no WCDMA 900 band( chinese version doesnt have this frecvency) . I use V51.
2. For European model V20, V26. (on the battery is not written in chinese). If it used on chinese model will be no signal on Sim2 (x sign)
How to install:
Download and unzip the file modem P780.zip. Chose modem file.
1. Put the modem file (zip) on the SD
2. Use CWM, TWRP or mobileUncle
3. Install modem from recovery
4. Wipe cache
5.Reboot
Let me know if it works.

Great! Thank you.
Your zip is stored on my computer
Nothing helped, I gave all a try.
But now I found out, thats a problem if my local provider and his radio cell.
When I leave my home cell, all is fine.
I installed S920 V17 modem and both slots works for me now on my P780.
Lenovo P780 3G not working in sim1
Hi Badmania,
I also recently bought a lenovo P780. i didnt realise it was a chinese model only after going through your post. i got a little problem with this handset and i hope u can help me out with it. Slot 1 probably supports 2g/3g connection but i am not able to get 3g connection in the slot 1. i tried swiping the same sim card in another handset of different brand and i can use 3G without any problem. slot 2 works fine with 2g.i am a newbie to this android and i dont have any idea about CWM, TWRP or mobileUncle. i would appreciate and be grateful if you could post step by step procedure to change the radio module ( modem) for Lenovo P780 chinese model. i cant read Chinese and its a big problem for me. Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Regards

Confused
Dear Badmania,
Thank you so much for your help and support though i couldn't execute the solutions you have provided above properly.
Finally i realized why my 3G connection on slot 1 wasn't working after doing a vast research online. I found out that, in order to use 3G in my country(BHUTAN), i must have a smart phone that supports GSM- 850/900/1800 MHz & WCDMA 850/1900/2100 MHz Frequencies. My network service provider told me that i wont be able to use 3G without these Frequencies in BHUTAN.
As per my knowledge, Lenovo P780(chinese model) supports GSM- 900,1800,1900; UMTS-2100 only. I am worried and confused what to do now. From where and how to add GSM- 850 MHz on this handset?????
Will i be able to solve my problem with the solutions you have provided in your previous post??? OR is there a different procedure to overcome this problem. Please help me, i like this smartphone(lenovo P780) so much that i don't want to switch on to another smartphone.
Regards,
Install mobileUncle Tools from GooglePlay.
Open the program.
Under Engineer Mode\Engineer Mode (MTK)\ BandMode\ you will find Sim 1 and Sim2, where you can see what bands are availlable. GSMMode (2G) and WCDMA (3G).
This is it. You can not add other band.
As I know, the chinese model ( mine also)has only WCDMA2100 ( on mobileUncle is WCDMA-IMT-2000). I need WCDMA -GSM 900 but ...it is not possible. It is not a software but hardware issue.
There are 2 versions of P780. One with 4G storage with WCDMA 2100, and one with 8G storage with WCDMA 900&2100 .
Thank you!
Thanks a lot, Now i regret buying this phone to be used in my country!

install modem driver to P780
Hello!
I need some help. I've bought a Lenovo P780 phone and when I put in my SIM, I realized there is no signal and the phone can't connect to the network. After some advices I tried to install modem drivers. I downloaded the drivers from badmania98's upload. I copied them to the phone internal memory (tried with SD card too, with no result). I started TWPR manager (tried with mobileuncle too), pressed install, selected one of the unzipped pack, eg. v52 Modem_P780_V52.zip. Slide the slider, my phone reboot, I got the system recovery. I choose apply update from sdcard (or sdcard2 from external SD card) and choose my zip file. My output is:
-- Install /sdcard ...
Installation aborted.
Neither of zips work. What should I try? Did I miss something?
Thanks
Daniel
I need some assistance please.
Hello badmania I am in need of some assistance from you please. I bought my Lenovo P780 and as I've seen and heard, people are having bad signal quality. I was looking online trying to see if there was a way to solve this problem. I ended up on this website and saw your steps on how to do it, but honestly I have no idea what I'm doing. I was wondering if you could sort of guide me through the process please. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Moises
Hey. I have the same kind of problem (chinese Lenovo P780, trying to use it in Hungary with a GSM 900 / 1800 provider) but the weird thing is that the phone loses signal occasionally. I mean if I check the phone, about 7 times of 10 there is no signal. I tried out a lot of modems (found on a russian blog) then I tried out the modems posted in here, but it's still the same. I checked the settings in engineer mode and everything is turned on. Please tell me what is going on.

Hi,
AFAIK it could be done via Xposed Module named SIM Number Changer. I use that module to apply my phone number to my SIM card.

Has anybody gotten visible Wireless to work correctly on custom roms? I got it up and running no problem on oxygen OS, but for some reason I just can't get it going on customs.
It's literally driving me insane.
I'm bumping this thread... been trying out some custom roms (Havoc and trying Bliss now) but haven't been able to get any Visible Wireless (by Verizon) signal on my phone.
Does anyone know if ANY custom ROM works? Particularly interested in ASOP ROMs, not ones based on OOS.

Yes, you can get visible wireless to work on all custom roms now. Used to not be able to because custom roms wouldn't detect Verizon Sims, but that's been fixed for a couple months now. Only thing that needs to be done is updating the apn config. The instructions to replace the apn config file are located here. The only difference is on Android 10, it's located in /system/product/etc/ instead of /system/etc/ that is lit used to be on Android 9. I've uploaded the new apn config file that you need to use.

Awesome... I opened in Notepad++ and searched for "VSBL" ... four entries were found. I was able to combine most of the entries into 'apn carrier="Visible Internet"'
<apn carrier="Visible Internet"
mcc="311"
mnc="480"
apn="VSBLINTERNET"
type="default,dun,supl,fota,ims,mms,ia,cbs"
mmsc="http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms"
protocol="IPV4V6"
roaming_protocol="IPV4V6"
profile_id="0"
modem_cognitive="true"
max_conns="20"
max_conns_time="300"
wait_time="0"
read_only="false"
mvno_type="GID"
mvno_match_data="BAE1000000000000"
/>
Data, MMS, etc all working great. Thanks for sharing!
it works
Wow. I just got a H830 unlocked lg g5 running lineage 17.1 working with visible LTE. I merely switched the apn.xml file as you said and switched my preferred network mode to LTE. THANK YOU!!

Yes!!! I finally did! Lineage 17.1 on a lg g5 h830 and on lineage 17.1 galaxy s9. Both working. WOOHOO! Merely swap apn.xml, chmod, reboot, reset settings, then click visible internet, then set network mode to "LTE"
I have a OP8 Pro that I've been trying to get work with Visible and custom roms (Resurrection Remix and/or crDroid specifically), but have hit a dead end.
crDroid doesn't let me edit any of the "Network Settings," the option is grayed out entirely with the Visible SIM inserted (but the lock screen shows "No SIM inserted - Visible," giving the impression that the phone sees the SIM in one slot, knows it is Visible, but won't connect or register it to allow changing settings).
Resurrection Remix will recognize the SIM, and I can get into Network Settings. I've tried to add all 4 APNs manually after flash and can't get it to get a signal at all, leading me to believe that there's further, "deeper" integration that I don't have access to after flashing is complete and system partitions are locked as read-only.
TWRP 3.40-14 by mauronofrio works with Resurrection Remix flashed, but System, Vendor, Product, etc. are all locked as read-only, so editing the apn-conf.xml file can't be edited. And, sadly, that's where I'm at. A bit frustrating that OOS stock recognizes everything instantly upon initial boot, but custom roms won't. If there's any information I can provide to help get universal support for this carrier, I would be more than happy to help contribute.

I have a Pixel 4a and none of the custom ROMs except 1, which naturally was the last one I tried, worked. The ROM that worked had this dir /product/etc/CarrierSettings/ with a config for each carrier, Visible's config filename being visible_us.pb, and this dir was missing from the ROMs that Visible did not work on. Note the stock firmware had the same dir and Visible config as well. I also have /product/etc/apns-conf.xml in my ROM that works on Visible but the Visible APNs are NOT in that config so it's pulling it from the visible_us.pb.
It's clearly a firmware issue on some level. I suspect it's simply a matter of getting the system to use the proper APNs. It seems to me that the only way to do that is by building the ROM with the Visible APNs baked in the /product/etc/CarrierSettings/visible_us.pb, or /product/etc/apns-conf.xml, depending on where your implementation gets these default values from — or maybe it's the implementation that makes the difference, I'm not sure.
What doesn't make sense to me is why adding the APNs in settings manually had zero effect. I got the same default APNs to select from when I insert the SIM with ROM that did not work as you, StraightTalk, Verizon, and Xfinity. I also noticed that intermittently it would automatically load the VSBLINTERNET APN from the SIM but nothing would work.
I think the next step is to try to get the devs to include the Visible APNs to apns-conf.xml in the next build. I suspect that will cure this. Too bad Android make the system RO or it would be trivial.
Links that may be of interest..
This is my ROM for Pixel 4a that does work on Visible forked from ASOP.

This was extremely informative! Hopefully this will be helpful to somebody else seeking the info and scouring the web for answers.
I'm on stock OOS right now on an unlocked OP8 Pro. There is no CarrierSettings on this rom, so maybe it's just the APN file? I couldn't find a visible_us.pb file either. But I've also had a dev whip up a Magisk module that supposedly added the APN settings in, to no avail. Perhaps "baking in" is different than trying to overwrite via Magisk.
Of course, I say all of this pleading ignorance to what may be obvious to actual contributors. I have virtually no idea what I'm doing and am probably talking out my ass.

Old thread but I am just discovering (via Oxygen Updater) that the IN2015 I purchased from eBay thinking it was a US Open model, not a Visible Frankenstein's monster, will not update from 10.5.4 IN68CE via Oxygen Updater in April 2021.
I just canceled eBay return (128GB was listed as 256GB) but kept based on like new condition and assuming I could easily bootloader unlock, root, flash International Oxygen 11 and use dual SIM tray (eBay order).
Wondering if anyone has successfully updated (via fastboot flashing) a OP8 Visible version to a true carrier free model.

I sold mine and went for the 8 pro, so I'm not aware of anything. I couldn't get it to do anything but run the visible software, unfortunately.
Bummer! Before I follow up my recent eBay return of the blacklisted OP7 Pro I received with a return of this, I guess I'll get familiar with MSM Tool and try to flash different versions of Android 10 and see if I can get something running that I can upgrade. I need non carrier restricted OOS so it will recognize two SIMs. Question is if I can even utilize 2 SIMs with a single IMEI device.
Looking like another eBay return is in my future.
Good day!
Poco X3 Pro 8/256 does not want to pay for NFC in any way.
What is the problem? When paying, any terminal beeps 2 times and issues an "equipment error".
I studied a lot of information on XDA/4PDA, I didn't find anything similar to my problem. The problem appeared after unlocking the bootloader and installing the first custom ROM.
What I have:
1) Play Market - the device is certified
2) The SafetyNet test passes
3) Google Pay has all the ticks in the "Contactless set up" menu
4) Root is not installed
5) The problem exists on absolutely ANY ROM except MIUI. Tried on PixelExperience (A11, A12), xdroid, crdroid - all the same
6) I tried to install different firmware from 12.0 to 12.5.7.0 - it's useless
7) Tried using other payment methods SberPay, MirPay - no success
8) I tried to pay with a card of another bank - no success
9) File transfer using NFC and working with NFC tags is working (it means the the NFC chip is alive)
10) I tried a fix with Riru + LSPosed + XPrivacyLua, it didn't help (although there is no need for it)
11) Of course, I tried completely flash MIUI via fastboot, then flash custom ROM again
A few days ago found MatLog and today I saw an error in the log: service com.android.nfc crashes because it can't find the SIM1 (what?)
I understand that maybe I need to toggle the "Secure element position" SIM to HCE (this option is available in MIUI, but there is no in custom ROMs)
I attach the system log and some informative screenshots.
Help out, comrades! This is some kind of mysticism! This is crazy

After a month of torment with flashing, one wonderful person suggested a solution to me:
You need to swap the SIM cards (or insert the SIM into another slot, if there is one), then restart the phone.
NFC payment immediately started working!
Eureka!!!

Man you saved my life! I had exactly the same problem, removed one SIM and swapped the other one to the SLOT 1 and gpay works now with custom AOSPs. Thanks for sharing this solution!
Interesting, thank you for the fix.
I've had this exact issue before and only thought to fix it by re-flashing my Pixel Experience ROM. The issue reappeared this week, and I was dreading another clean flash of my Poco F3 device.
Putting my SIM card in the other slot has made NFC work again! My question is, what do I do if the issue reappears? Will it go away by simply swapping the SIM card back to the other slot?
I'll report back if the issue reappears
