When trying a webrtc connection on the Huawei Mate 9 in Chrome Browser latest version (or Chrome Beta, or Firefox) I can see my partner,
but my partner can't see me. My camera will not record and transfer my video. The small window with my mirror picture remains black.
In the menu comes a message for giving permissions to the camera, I do.
I've checked permissions to camera, audio on chrome browser and in phone settings. Permission all given.
The same procedure on an Samsung and an Nexus Smartphone works fine.
Only on my new Huawei Mate 9 the camera brings no pictures.
I can only see my partner.
I'm using Android 7.0
Version of phone firmware: MHA-L29C432B138
I think it is a camera issue.
The camera works fine on normally recording videos.
Any Ideas ?

The firmware MHA-L29C432B156 update at 24. Feb. 2017 does not fix it.
WebRTC is not working on Huawei Mate 9.
If you want to use video conference, video chat in browser (Chrome, Firefox, ...) without installing an app like whatsup or facebook,
then you must use a Samsung, Google Pixel or anything, but not a Huawei Mate 9 smartphone. Bad.
The service members of Huawei hotline don't understand the problem or you get an automated answer.
If you go to chrome://gpu you will see a line pointing to known gpu-related bugs. Between the listing, there is a mediacodec bug directly related to WebRTC: http://crbug.com/615108
Maybe that's the main culprit here.

Huawei fixed the bug with Update to Android 8.0 on Mate 9.
https://simplewebrtc.com/demo.html
Using that I see myself in the black box.

I installed Snapchat Version 9.24.0.0 (a very old one) the voice works now when I record a video, but when I install on GP the latest update the sound doesnt work. Its only when I record a video, I can hear other people his sound. Any can help me?
Phone:
MT7-L09
4.4.2 / EMUI 3.0

Up up up up...
Hi, I am using the Huawei Ascent Mate 7 phone as well. Huawei MT7-L09, Android version 4.4.2, EMUI 3.0. There is no sound when I record videos on Snapchat, but when viewing other users' videos, the sound works fine. Thanks.
I bought this phone because of Chris from Tech tablet showing how smooth it was on 4k. Chris was using the China version of the phone. However after buying the phone, I could NEVER get 4k EIS to work because the Open camera app keeps crashing, so I gave up. Today, after doing some research, I looked at youtube videos showing Note 5 Pro 4k EIS were from July 2018 and earlier. Those Indians were using the global version of the phone. That made me wonder if it is related to firmware.
Turns out, you need to be on MIUI 9. The camera settings were changed on MIUI 10 so 4k EIS stopped working.
Here are the steps to make it work:
1) Downgrade/upgrade to 9.5.7.0 Global firmware. It is the last build of MIUI 9 without antirollback. https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/how-to/index-everything-anti-roll-t3816219
2) Download open camera. do not enable hal 3 in build.prop.
3) Choose 4k under video settings, 40mbps bit rate ( higher will cause apl to crash because it only supports 42mbps), h264 format (HEVC Doesnt work). set 24fps. any faster sd636 unable to stabilize
4) Under more camera controls, Use Storage access framework
Now if you record video, wait 2-3 seconds lag before it starts recording. 4k EIS works! Since cropping from 12MP to 8MP there is less area compared to 2MP for 1080p videos, the stabilization is not as great compared to fullHD stabilization
Reserved for video samples.....

Why Google ? Tottally unusable videomode, tons of dropframes and lags. Maybe you need fix libcam drivers for imx363 chip on Android 10 ?
Btw. On PIE 9.0 1080p autofps mode looks good:good: im using latest stock Google Camera ver 6.3.26
October update DONT fixed that problem Hey google whats wrong ? Flagship phone cant record normally video 1080p ....
VIDEO nr 2
Has anyone noticed a similar problem with your pixel 3 ? I have this problem with Gcam 6.3.20, 6.3.26, 7.1.15 on Android 10.

Nope everything is recording fine here, smooth like water!
frame loss and lag only appears when the camera wants to return from 60fps to 30fps. if the conditions are poor and the camera does not reach 60 FPS then there are no lags and the video is as smooth as water, yes. even my wife noticed that this is losing frames and that's something on PX camera 1.1 60fps works great for me, autofps tragedy I can't look at it
I returned to Android 9 PIE and finally the problem was solved. Autofps works great. Google has to do something about it, Pixel 4 has in addition to 3 modes of autofps / 30fps / 60fps, maybe Google will graciously do the same with Pixel 3. At the moment Android 10 for video recording in autofps mode is broken. Perhaps it is the fault of the underdeveloped drivers or bad clocks that manage the cpu speed.
This version of gcam works good in android 9. There are some bugs such as video recording. The exact version is this PMGC_7.2.014_Relesed_V1.apk [ https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog901/ ]. I also expecting the new released version of 7.3 to port.
I would like to find a version that uses both lenses simultaneously but I haven't ended up. Some other smartphones that have monochromatic lens are Honor 10, Honor 9 dual, Huawei p10+, mate 10 pro etc. It might be possible that some versions, which were referred to another dual-lens smartphones, would work in our moto z2 force. Here is the list shows the developers and their's smartphones: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/developers/

Hello again,
I've already found a version of Gcam that can enable the secondary monochromatic lens. But, as long as I tried to find the correct settings I couldn't make a shot happen.
One more pros is the ability to capture a video through the app.
Here you can download the latest version of Wichaya which is fully workable GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1_Wichaya_V2.8.1_200920.apk : https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1348/
Were you able to get the normal (color) video to work?
When I press record it goes on for 1 second and then stops without recording any video on every version and config of gcam I've tried.
Yes I could by pressing down the photo for some seconds. But now, I have updated to v2.9.1, more steady but I still cannot take pictures from B&W sensor : https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1451/
Any suggestions from the aux settings?
Hi, I have a Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G (codename: VEUX, verified using adb) Indonesia version (model: 2201116SG). Right now I'm using Evolution X ver 7.3 (build Nov 20, 2022). Before, I'm using stock MIUI Global 13.0.2.0 (RKCIDXM). I posted this thread to present my findings about this phone, and hopefully find a fix.
I was trying to find a suitable GCam port for this phone, but ONLY Arnova8G2's ver 8.4.300 GCam port that works in this phone. All other ports will crash or show black screen when using Video recording mode. However, photo mode works just fine in all GCam ports. I can even add auxiliary cameras and enable the tele/macro and ultrawide lens. The problem reappears, however, when I enable aux cam in Arnova8G2's GCam port. The app keeps crashing when I switch to video mode, and I need to clear app data and cache to get it working again.
I've also installed Open Camera by Mark Harman, and tried to record 1920x1080 video, but it says "Failed to record video". The highest resolution I can get is 1600x900. Lowering the FPS didn't help, It says "Sorry, frame rate not supported on your device".
Playing 1920x1080 videos (whether 30 or 60fps) worked just fine using Google Photos. If the resolution is higher than that, then Google Photos and any media player will refuse to play it. The highest video resolution I can play is 1080x2040, even a 1080x2400 video (same resolution as the display) results in the same error.
I haven't tried recording and playing 1080p videos back in stock MIUI, but judging from the Live Wallpaper Bug Thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/dynamic-wallpaper-mi-video-bugs.4439695/), the problem might persist in stock ROM.
I know that the Snapdragon 695 SoC has a hardware limitation of recording video up to [email protected] But, this thing was like "GIVE ME A VIDEO THAT IS EXACTLY 1080x2040, OR ELSE. AND DON'T EVEN THINK TO RECORD AT 1080p!!". I still have my old Redmi S2 (codename: YSL), and just for reference, I tried installing one of the GCam port file that I've used in this phone. Guess what, the Arnova8G2 version didn't work, but other GCam port works perfectly. I installed BSG 8.1 GV2b in Redmi S2, and managed to record [email protected], although it crashed in like 3 seconds. Playing a 1920x1080 30fps video (a much higher resolution than the 720p display that the Redmi S2 has) using Google Photos also works, although as expected, the video is very choppy.
So, In conclusion, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is picky about what video to play and record. This might be a hardware problem, because it persist even in different ROMs. If this really is a hardware problem, then It's kinda suck, 'cause I need to record important video occasionally. Oh well, I'll need to use other tricks just for recording video then. I wanna hear what you guys thought about this though.
We been struggling with this since this phone came out, but i been playing videos up to 4k on mx player without a problem
still no solution to record 4k tho
Is a hardware limitation from the snapdragon processor. There is no way of make 4K recording in this device.
4K playback is fine.
Aw bummer. Welp, on the bright side, I've finally managed to find a perfect GCam, It's BSG's GCam MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1zfix_MGC. Everything works, including video recording up to [email protected], front camera works, slow motion, etc.
