Battery - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

My battery performance has been awful, and it seems the main culprit is Cell Standby and Screen. Any ideas how to improve it?

Solution to the battery drain issue

Hi all, based on my experience of flashing various different ROMs, most of the ROM shouldn't have the battery drain issue. However, I discovered some times after flashing a new ROM the device gets much warmer and the battery drains very quickly.
When this happens the best solution is to shutdown the device, pull the battery out for 5 minutes or so to let it cool down. Then put it back and turn on the device and the battery drain problem should be resolved.
I haven't been able to find the reason behind that but it does make a big difference. With one of the ROM I flashed, the battery went from 100% to flat in less than a day even when no WiFi, no bluetooth and no infrared are turned on. Then I recharged the device, pulled the battery out to let it cool down and put it back. After that the battery went back to normal with only around 3% consumption overnight.
Sounds interesting.
I also noticed that the device is getting hot in some cases (high CPU usage).
It is clear that the selfdischarge of the battery if much higher when it gets warmer. If it is being recharged in a short time afterwards, then also here the temperature will get higher.
This might be an explanation. You're right.

Mhh.. i found out, if you have a bad cell connection (like 1 bar of all 4) the phone starts to boost somehow this hardware and drains alot battery.
Any1 experiencing that?

You're absolutely correct... When the GSM carrier signal is weak, your phone compensates for this weakness by boosting the signal off your phone's antenna. This process consumes alot of power. Another reason for such a high consumption is that your GSM service provider is using a low GSM band for its GSM infrastructure and your phone is a triple/quad band phone. In that case, it would continuously boost off the signal.

Battery calibration improves battery life?

I know android has issues with correct battery calibration but I am wondering if the belief of people is right in that calibration improves battery life. I think calibration is supposed to let you see the true level of your battery at a particular time?
OR am I wrong?

Weird battery life; battery not charging fully

Hello, this is how my battery life looks like.
So, battery, when it charges, goes up smoothly up to about 50 percentage mark. Then, the rate of charge slows dramatically, followed by a huge surge at the end. As soon as I unplugged my phone, however, the battery drops significantly, and I end up losing battery even as the battery is charged.
Any idea what has happened? I see no significant wake lock (I have no idea what the application says it's active), signal is high and sync is turned off. Is it a hardware issue? Corrupted battery stat?
I am running CM 11 Milstone 12, and the battery is a ZeroLemon extended battery.

Sounds like the battery or possibly the charging port is going bad. Those are really the only two I can think of

What is causing battery drain?

Recently my phone discharges extremely quick. It can go from 100% to 0% in less then 6 hours without any heavy usage. It is LG G5 with stock ROM (just rooted) and I have a spare battery. Both discharge so fast, so I don't think the battery is responsible for it.
Sometimes I notice that while wearing the phone in my pocket, it gets quite hot and battery went down by 20% in just a few minutes. If I look at the battery stats in system settings, it show the battery was mainly used by Android and phone stand-by.
How can I find out what was the real case of the problem? I guess because the phone is so hot, some app (or process) was causing that the CPU to work at high frequency a caused the drain. How could I identify what really is the problem? I even tried Greenify or Force Doze to eliminate the problem but with no success. How can I identify, what's wrong and what is causing the overheating and battery drain?
Thank you.

Laggy when battery hits under 10%

My poco gets really slow when battery is under 10%. Anyone having this issue? I haven't activated battery saver or anything, and still the phone looks like it's reducing its performance
My photo doesn't becomes laggy instead if I am running some games the game becomes laggy when battery goes below 5%. I think it's normal. And it's a feature to save battery.

You should never allow your battery to be that low. You are ruining your phone
