Sometimes my at&t gear will suddenly receive a whole bunch of text messages i've already viewed on the phone, usually after it reconnects after I've put it in airplane mode or just disconnected from the phone and reconnected. The gear notifies me of messages fine while connected to the phone, it just seems to download old messages in bulk as well sometimes. Anyone else seen this issue, and have any idea how to stop it?
Unfortunately, spam is a real pandemic! Read here https://sureshotsoftware.com/guides/get-rid-yeadesktop/. I hope this helps you.

I use an HTC Sensation XE.
Notifications do not immediately alert when the phone sleeps. For apps like Whatsapp, Line, Facebook Chat, or Messenger+, I have to turn on the screen first to know whether I have any new chat logs or not.
I tried enabling always on mobile data but that does not fix the issue. It is very annoying when someone chats with you and they don't receive immediate response due to connection problems, especially when my girlfriend chats with me. She always thinks I am not paying her attention.
Many times the notifications show after my friends send me some message 10 minutes earlier (sometimes longer that that).
This problem never happens with my old phone (HTC LEGEND).
Any solutions? I will be very very happy when I don't have to fight and explain to my girlfriend that my phone does not notify me.
Whenever i start using MSN chat or Facebook chat on the messaging hub using wifi, i will only be receiving chat messages for the first 5 minutes. After that, no more messages come through.
I know my wifi is on because its connected to the power supply, even if i set the locked screen to never, i can never get a constant flow of chat messages after a few minutes. The only way to start receiving again is by switching off/on wifi...
I know im not receiving anymore messages because i have my computer MSN logged in (and it is receiving messages still but no on phone side)
I know im connected to the internet still when i stopped receiving messages (because i go into IE to see if it still works)
...SO WTF??????
(ps. i seem to be getting the same trouble with 3G as well)

What phone is this? What OS version? Please give us more details.
I have this issue that is driving me crazy. When I'm in the car (Vauxhall Astra with Intellilink 900 infotainment system) and connected to it by bluetooth, it goes crazy when a text message arrives. It starts to show notifications for historic text messages. It asks me if I want to listen or dismiss the message. If I choose listen, nothing happens except dismissing that message and moving onto another one. I have to dismiss about 30-40 text messages every time! Once I've dismissed all of the messages the system appears normal except it will not report new SMS text messages. This did not happen with my Galaxy S7 Edge.
Anyone else experienced anything similar?
I have similar issues with my Ford Focus where it will constantly alert me to new (old) messages. The November Pixel security update was supposed to have addressed that issue, but I'm still experiencing it. (Further reading here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/phone-by-google/_abjcuavywo/1VsWm1hqAgAJ)
On my phone, I ended up going to Bluetooth Settings, selecting my phone, and turning off the "messages" profile.

I've got the same issue with my Ford EcoSport. I thought it was the crappy Ford Sync, now i know better.
Looks like it's a Pixel issue then. I've tried using different SMS apps on the phone but it makes no difference.
Same issue here with a 2016 Chevy Silverado. I went into the settings in the radio and disabled message notifications to prevent this from happening until the root cause can be resolved.
hi, I have the non LTE Gear S3 Frontier. Message Notifications from Whatsapp and my phone text are not showing on my watch. same for email notifications... Phone calls are relayed to my watch but not whatsapp calls. Remote connections and the app notifications are checked in Samsung gear app... in Summary notifications are very unstable.... any ideas pls?
I get a problem with notifications too.
Sometimes they arrive , sometimes they arrive some minutes later, sometimes they never turn up whatever the source of the notification.
This is via a BT connection.
Tried resetting and altering the settings to no avail.
I was hoping to use just the vibration notifications on the watch and not sound on the phone as a lot less intrusive in meetings etc. but looks like it is not reliable enough for that.
yes, exactly same problem here! its a problem as not reliable at all... very dissapointed! I am using S7 edge fyi... hoping that there is a fix
Not sure if this will help for you, but one thing I noticed was a setting on the Gear app on the phone, under notifications, "Show while using phone"
Mine was off, which meant that if my phone screen was on, no notifications came through to the watch. I turned it on, and now they all come, all the time.
Is it possible to reply via a voice message on Whatsapp? Not the Svoice.. But a voice message..
Hello all,
I've been having an issue for the past couple of months where most calls to my phone go straight to voicemail (I'll very occasionally receive a call), and I will usually not receive text messages for several hours (toggling on/off airplane mode will sometimes force them to show up, but making an outbound call will always result in any pending text messages being received). When I do receive text messages, they all show up at once.
Note that the data connection is working perfectly fine - I can be browsing the internet no problem, but not receive calls or texts. Also, the signal is strong all through the area I live/work, and it doesn't matter where I am located, the issue persists.
Any suggestions on what is going on? It is out of warranty, so suspect Google will be no help. It sounds like an issue with the phone not checking in with the cell towers, and I also purchased the phone directly from Google, so I suspect T-Mobile won't be much help either (I'll be checking with them sometime this weekend, though).
Things I have tried:
1. Factory reset phone.
2. Removed and wiped off SIM card.
3. Installed newest updates.
4. Turned off all battery saving settings.
5. Messed with manually creating an APN according to T-Mobile's site, and played around with the settings.
Thank you
EDIT: I downloaded a cellular status app, and it looks like I see "Service State: Out-Of-Service" when I'm unable to receive texts. At times that I receive them, it says "In-Service." "Sim State" is always "ready," regardless.
EDIT 2: Looks like this is only happening when LTE is selected. If I switch to 3G, everything always works (EDIT 2: Just had a test call fall to go through. All test texts have succeeded, though). On LTE, it only works intermittently.
