Last few days I have a huge battery drain from Android OS
On 7.1.1 stock with January security update
I tried a factory reset but this didn't solve the problem.
Anyone else have similar issue ?

I also noticed that my battery life took a hit with the January update, and Android OS is at the top of the list for battery use. Not sure what's going on. I've installed greenify, and it seems to make a slight improvement, but still nowhere near the battery life I had a month ago.

I have battery drain as well since the latest update. I don't feel like factory resetting my phone. I literally factory reset my phone 4 times since I got it.

I haven't had any battery issues on Lollipop, in fact it has been better for me than Kit Kat. But the first thing I did after the upgrade was to backup my phone, copy the backup to my OTG stick (the computer would also work) then factory reset. One this was done and I setup my phone I copied the backup back to my phone and restored. After about 5 days to allow the phone to settle, I got 36 hours on a charge with 6+ hours of SOT.

Is your device rooted?
If yes, install GSam https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm
And post here some screenshots as specified in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/battery-life-help-troubleshoot-battery-t2785128
If your device is not rooted, post screenshots of your Battery screen along with battery graph screen (Settings=>Battery)
Additionally, you can use Privacy Settings and disable few permissions of the app which are not allowing your device to go into deep sleep state
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-google-play-services-battery-t2832525
If you don't wish to troubleshoot the issue, you can simply apply factory reset option and load all the apps from scratch

Phone: Moto Nexus 6
Android: 7.0

My phone has been fine since I updated to android 7 in October of 2016 but in the last 2 weeks it is a battery hog now. I have already tried messing with lots of settings and even performed a factory reset. Currently it shows that the android system is using 30% of the battery and the screen is only using 14%. I have not changed any of my normal habits so I am not sure why this occurred. Since the factory reset the only apps I have installed are Firefox, Signal, Steam, and the default google apps. I see that 7.1.1 is available but I am not sure why my phone has not updated to that version or even a newer build of 7.0. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Please help me
Thanks

Hey buddy...
Android system using 30percent is considerably high but what is your overall usage duration prior to two weeks and now? screen is only using 14% if your screen on time is less....
how old is your phone?
also there is an article mentioned in XDA regarding to boost your battery life... again battery life is an individual expectation....

Hi all.....I have an AT&T Note 8 and the other day it did the software update (3BRB2) for the Feb security update.Since then, my battery won't even get me through the day with light use!
I am a heavy user for my job, and have always been able to get thru the day with no problem. Now I am lucky when I get to the afternoon!
Has anyone else who recently did the security update had this issue?
Thanks
I did search but found nothing directly related to this particular update..........LOL.
Hmm. Haven't noticed but I will keep an eye on it. I am also a heavy user for work so I will notice immediately. Today I worked from home so its been hooked up to a charger all day.

Me too on AT&T February update, me too with Note 8 but I don't see any battery loss o faster discharge. Try to reboot or restart your Note if that doesn't work then Factory Reset but that's is the last option you know that's work time after factory to configure as it's was. No matter what but every time I Factory Reset my formers phones configuration again is a fact, the back up and in a zip everything is back don't work for me.

Hey guys, I was hoping you could help me pinpoint the reasons why my Honor 8 suddenly can't get 2 hours of SOT and can't barely hold a charge for more than 6h with little usage.
Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/AH8oFua
19% battery
49min with screen on
6h30 powered on since last full charge
It's a FRD-AL10 model bought in Gearbest in August 2017 that came rebranded as FRD-L19C636.
It was working reasonably untill recently, when the battery began to die really fast, with no apparent reason.
When it first happened, it had B360 firmware installed.
I though that maybe forcing the update to B380 it would make a change. It didn't. Same for B390.
Did a Factory reset, no luck.
At that point I decided to unlock the bootloader and try custom roms, but the fact that the camera didn't work properly in none of them was enough to discard that option without further tests.
I went back to stock B360 (even though now the phone displays the test mode rom now - I'll handle it later).
So that's it: I've done several full formats and factory resets by now, and the battery performance remains poor, even though the phone is less than a year old.
This kind of happened suddenly, that's why I was thinking it was software related, but I'm not sure anymore, since the drain persists in multiple firmwares and after multiple resets, and cleanings of cache.
Thanks for the help!
It's cause of Google play services. They rolled out a bad update. The same is happening to my device. We'll have to just wait till they release a new update.

Haha I was losing my mind regarding this, I thought I was the only one facing this till I came across your thread.
If you check out the play store reviews of play services from the past 3 days you'll see lots of people complaining about the same.

You need to roll back the update
or reset the settings to factory settings.
I got the same s***t.

Thank you guys, my girlfriend and I are both having battery drain issues. I really hope it is a software issue that will get fixed. We both really love the phone .
AccuBattery is consistently saying my battery health is around 1300mAh, after many recharge cycles.
This info persists after a brand new factory reset and rollback to B360.
I guess the battery is indeed the one main culprit here.
