I downgraded my sm-g920v and I want to know how to get rid of the marshmallow OTA from my phone. I'm currently on OK7 5.1.1, and cannot seem to get kingroot working on my device. Is there any way to disable the automatic updates?

Yes use package disabler Pro from play store (no root required) and freeze or Uninstall apks dealing with Ota updates. (I can not think of there exact names, not home currently)
Here is a link i posted in a different thread on the same topic! Again use package disabler pro from play store, no root required!

I too am trying this after reverting to 6.0.1 and tried that program, but it can only find sdmviewer, and stopping that isnt getting rid of the notifacations.

Are you using the right Package disabler Pro? Does your look like the picture? If so make sure you are also allowing system apps to be included.
Identical to your pic. Com.samsung.sdm missing. Even tried manual option. This update notification is driving me crazy.

Hi, have seen some posts for this issue but none really help me understand what went wrong (tried this update 3 times with same result)
I have nexus 5 with android 4.4.2, rooted with CF-Auto root.
Recently i received OTA update notification to 4.4.3, but when i'm trying to install it i get error without any info.
Before trying to update i completely uninstall xposed and all of its modules.
To my understanding using CF-Autoroot should not interfere with OTA updates.
Any ideas?

did you do any other system modifications? change kernels?
I'd just dirty flash 4.4.3 and call it a day.

Nop, unless apps like titanium backup or file manager (only other apps that require root) change something. :/

Im no android expert(far from it), and prefer to stick to the most simple methods as long as i can run xposed framework.
this is why OTA without flashing or interfering with OS is best for me.
Keep this as last resort if no progress will happen regarding OTA updates.
Thanks!

OTA is more complex if you're rooted.. There's more flashing involved if you have / want a custom recovery (which all rooted users should aim to have)
Just download the full rooted stock ROM in android development and flash it without wipe from recovery.
It's actually fewer steps anyway.
OTA = revert system changes, boot recovery, flash, re-flash recovery, re-root
Rooted stock = boot recovery, flash
No brainer really. Flashing an OTA if rooted is a fool's errand

lmao, its FAR from the most simple method. most simple method would be to dirty flash a 443 stock/rooted rom and call it a day, without over complicating anything.

Did you uninstall Xposed from within the app? If you simply uninstalled it the same way you install regular aps (by dragging to uninstall from the app drawer) then it doesn't completely uninstall.

Hello guys,
A few days ago I got an update for my BTU-Firmware.
Befor I downloaded this update I installed the S8 Launcher and the S8 Weather App, but removed the S8 Launcher again. After this Samsung update (came OTA) I am/was unable to use any S8-App.apk. Already installed S8 Apps will stay but now it is not possible to use any S8.apk
My Baseband: G935FXXU1DQC2
My Buildnumber: NRD90M. G935FXXU1DQC4
I think nearly every Firmware for an update - Do not download it! If you have a "fix" please tell me

Download from APK mirror... yesterday i installed camera and touchwizz launcher ...
So what is your Baseband / Buildnumber?
I am thinking to flash my phone back before the update to install the S8-Apps but if the Firmware is not the reason I will try something else.
Same problem there. I have made a factory reset and I can again install all apps but after some hours i am blocked again. So I can't install no more the s8 apps in my s7 edge.
If someone can help me it will be great
Thanks all
The frimware is the reason
Actually only one app from knox is the problem if you stop that youre able to install all S8 apps normally suddenly i wont able to update but after making some some changes to battery optimizations i got able to install all apps easily on my S6E but after that i changed the optimizations again and again i wont able to install so all you have to do is just find that app that cause this problem

The problem is the secure folder and samsung pass is preinstalled on S6E june security patch im going to test the disabler apps to see what happens if i disable them
Hope that fix it
***All android 7 roms on January security patch can install all S8 apps normally and dont get any errors at all
Tried disabling Samsung Pass and Secure Folder, uninstalled these apps to facteoy defaults, cleared their data and cleared all caches, rebooted - still cant install anything from S8 on my S7 G930F with July security patch. I was able to install anything for about 2 days when the patch arrived. It must be some kind of app blocking that. We just need to find out which is it.

It tries for a lot longer to install after enabling and disabling max power saving mode, but still conflicts in the end

Hello there,
Had trouble getting the 6045Y rooted with TWRP since it was on 6.0.1 locked bootloader, stock recovery.
Ended up flashing Eluga lollipop rom and was then able to flash TWRP 3.0, root etc.
I've now got lineage14.1, but a lot of apps in the play store say that they're not compatible with my device.
Checked the build prop, it says TCL instead of alcatel, but I'm 100% certain it's an alcatel.
- Tried changing things in the build prop
- Tried clearing play store cache and data
- Installed latest google play services in case
Not sure how to get rid of that message. I could download the apks for every app but that could take a while.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks for the help
There is an app in playstore which can spoof the playstore and make it think you are using a different type of phone that is compatible....

Nice, I'll have to see if it's still compatible considering it looks like an old app. I'll be able to try on monday when I get the phone back. If it does work I'll come back for the thumbs up.
Thanks a lot

Yeah it doesn't work unfortunately. App hasn't been updated in a while and gives me an error. I'll look for an alternative though.
Thanks
Aye that is a shame - used the app a couple of years ago and it worked like a charm
Did you try the build.prop tweak method described in the article at the end ? {you have to do a bit more than edit the file}

Im in the same situation , though i have the P40 Lite. Would be nice if someone who has been through this could share their experience.
kamesenin888 did you update, if so what was the result?
Thank you.
Nothing bad happened with the update but I fear of future updates
I've updated my p40 pro to the latest version without any issues, google services still work fine.
Hey! I got the Google play services installed on my p40 pro, have not had any problems with OTA updates, everything still works like a charm.
But my question is, when I open Aurora store it says play services is available to update, but in playstore there is no update.
If I update the services through Aurora will it make the play services stop workin?
I guess it's a modified version of play services that are installed when I used the guide to install play services with the lzplay installer.
I installed the 147 firmware on p40 pro ... and made a factory reset.
Be aware that if you update the firmware and do a factory reset... there is no way to install the lzplay and google play services.
If you decide to update in the future try to not do the factory reset or delet the cache...Until someone give us a working solution for the lzplay.

When i was on .131 lz play works fine .. after the update with the new security the creators of lz play I think blocked the phone. Because installing the google play services on any huawei phone is not supported from google and huawei ... maybe some of them complain to creators of the lzplay and they blocked.
So until someone find a new hole to install google play services .. everyone who update to july securiti and do a factory reset i think will not be able to install google play service animore.
No issues after update
I'm stuck at. 131

You can always downgrade using Hisuite proxy method below, I've made that mistake of updating to 147 (had auto updates setting on) but successfully downgraded to 131 and gms install went smoothly then updated itself to 147 and gms still working fine

I will give it a try.
Thx for the tips
Do you guys have a link to the guide you followed to get GMS installed? My P40 pro is on the way and there are so many guides out there. I would rather use one that is known working.

Help me please. I tried to use the proxy and I got that I cannot find Internet connection and cannot downgrade. How do I solve this???
I managed to downgrade my software from 147 to 133 and then to install google services which work fine. Problem now is that there's no way to update the frimware from 133. I've tried OTA through phone and I'm being offered the same version I already got installed. Tried with HiSuite proxy method and only get error messages no matter what firmware (incremental) version i try to install. Guess there are hundreds of methods how to install google services and there might be some file I installed that locks the firmware to the one I've got installed. Has anyone experienced this problem and is there a fix for it?

I'd be interested in this also as I can't get mine to update, I bought it used last week so not sure if the previous owner downgraded from 147 before I had it.
I have a TCL A30 with Android 12, stock everything. I do not want to run any system update.
It tried to auto download the update, I managed to catch it and stop it. I enabled developer tools and turned off auto updates, and launched the system update app and turned off auto download, then cleared the apps data, and that seems fine. But now I am getting a nag screen telling me about the update and telling me to download it. I can close the nag screen but it comes back every couple of hours.
How can I get this system update app off this phone or at least freeze it so it stops nagging me? I do not want to root the device. I have tried the pm uninstall method on other devices and it screwed up the phone, so I am hesitant to try it here

A non root freezing method "might" work, but, I'm thinking probably not. It is worth trying, at least.
