Hello Guys
My moto G 3 2015 INDIAN variant
I have two issues to deal with:
1. Want to restate back to relock Bootloader without deleting data and apps
2. Remove logo of unlocked bootloader
is it possible without wiping data?
Follow this to remove that message : https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/themes-apps/remove-unlocked-bootloader-warning-t3294590
This to flash factory firmware (follow with extreme care word to word):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-fastboot-flashing-factory-t3187750
I recommend not lock your bootloader again because it will not affect any future OTAs. Moreover if you are thinking that your warranty will come back you are wrong, you wont be able to fool moto guys. If you still wanna lock it, look in 2nd link pages you will find it.
thanks but i still user data apps being deleted if i follow /it?
The data will be wiped in relocking the bootloader. There is no way to keep your data.

Addition Questions : 1. if i try to install any XT1032(single sim variant) custom roms on XT1033 what happens?
A) i loose control over both sim networks?
B) i maintain 1 sim and the second sim is invalid.
C) the rom fails to load and phone crashes.
D) something else. happens.

The single sim roms don't work on the dual sim models. They might flash okay, but they won't work properly.
Unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty and you need an unlocked bootloader to root the device. Relocking the device won't bring back your warranty because it's done and registered by Motorola. This applies to your region though, maybe not others.
I think the system software is installed differently on the GPE compared to the standard Moto G. There is a thread comparing the /app/ and /app-priv/ of the two devices.
You might not be able to update the phone OTA successfully if the particular update requires certain files to be in place and unmodified. That will probably depend on the update and what it's addressing.
Hello!
I have N5 from the first batch. GPS is like ***, recently even worse, problems with microphone etc. I've decided to return the phone. However, my problem is that the phone was bought in USA while I stay in EU. So I have to prepare the phone perfectly before I send it to my friend who will deal with returning it to google.
List of sins: unlocked bootloader, CM a lot, now upgraded to Android 5.0 (using factory images from google). Till the update the device was not modified. However, I'm little bit scared, because bootloader seems to be unlocked.
Is my warranty void? Or can simply I return the phone with bootloader unlocked? If no, please help - is there a step-by-step guide on how to completly return to stock including locking bootloader? Returning to 4.4.4. is ok, I'm sending the phone back to USA anyway
I'll be extremly greateful for help.
Br,
Piecho
Just flash back to stock relock bootloader.
You need the nexus 5 toolkit .
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda premium
Reflash stock rom then return it as it is. Google does not care about have the bootloader unlocked or not.
Don't use any toolkit learn the proper commands and do it manually. The Google factory images page gives you step by step instructions. Like said before, Google doesn't care about unlocked boot loader. The factory images page even tells you to unlock, flash, then relock lol
i need help rooting my device it keep saying that i can't unlock the bootloader cuz does not qualify here the image, is there away to force unlocking the bootloader...

I may not be much help, but this may help. This site has Auto-Root for the Moto G. "http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/" Go to the very bottom table in the page where it says this "The included scripts perform an "OEM unlock". If this fails, the root will not work. If it succeeds, and you were not previously unlocked (first time rooting ?), it will probably wipe your data !." It will definitely WIPE YOUR DATA if it works since it would be your first time unlocking. You probably have XT1032 since it's the global GSM version and the tool only works for 4.4.2.... Check the table for the OS Version required. I've never unlocked using this method, so I don't know what you'll encounter during your endeavor. Decide for yourself and weigh out the possible consequences such as a bricked phone. Hope this helps. Also, if you root your phone and get the 5.0.1 update it may fail because you are rooted, so that's also something to take into consideration.

let me try it and thanks a lot dude i really needed it.
I'm totally new to the Android world and i spent many hours to read this forum to learn as much as possible about my device and what i can do with it. But now, i need your help on a few things.
KitKat vs Lollipop, does it make sense to upgrade to Lollipop now or should i wait? Is there any major know bugs?
Since that i only have a 8gb device, i would like to clean the apps as much as possible. There's many apps that i don't need but they can't be uninstalled. For example, all the Motorola apps (is there something that we really need from them?), a few google apps like Google+, Google Play Films, Hangouts, etc that i will never use.
I want a stable ROM that i don't need to patch every day to solves problems. When i read about CM12 for Moto G, i see people that have problems here and there and wait for the next daily build to give it a try. I don't want to play that game!
If i install a custom rom, i guest that future updates will not come from Motorola. How the updates work afterward?
It's ok if i must have my device rooted
I have read about stock lollipop optimized version by lost101 but it don't think that the versions currently available will work for me. I'm in Canada and the versions that i see is Brazil or Asia.
thank you for you help!
You have the xt1032? Is there any warranty left? If there is no warranty, I recommend unlocking the bootloader before doing anything. It is easier to restore a bricked phone if you have an unlocked bootloader.
If you intend to stay on stock, you need some of the Motorola apps in order to install OTA updates.
Well what I will say is. I'm in the uk using lost101s BR optimized and I'm very pleased with it.

The phone is new but i don't care about the warranty. I've read that i can unlock the bootloader with the Motorola tutorial. I must be honest, i'm a little bit lost. I don't fully understand the difference between "unlocking bootloader" and "phone rooted"!
and yes the model i have is XT1032

You must unlock boot loader first then flash a custom recovery (manually or there is a tool in the development section) then rooting next.
Unlocking the bootloader allows you to install non-Motorola software. With a locked bootloader, the only software that can be loaded on your phone would have to be digitally signed by Motorola.
Rooting gives you administrative access to the system files.
You may not need an unlocked bootloader to get root and you do not need root to unlock a bootloader.
Start here to get the bootloader unlock code: https://accounts.motorola.com/ssoau...ct/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-b
I tried to install TWRP (any version available) but it take like 1 minutes to show the home screen and im not able to "swipe to unlock". So i have installed Philz recovery and then installed lost101 Retail Brazil 5.0.2 Stock ROM (Optimized) v1.1a. I'm playing with it right now and so far so good.
Hello, I am at 5.0.2 completely stock and Moto G XT1032. I want to unlock bootloader, install recovery, and custom roms because 5.0.2 is slow and laggy.
I heard about some problems if I start at 5.0.2 and doing those things, such as ripple effect, flickering ....
So what I want to ask/confirm:
1. Is doing those thing possible?
2. What are known problems if I do those things at 5.0.2?
3. Problem like ripple, flickering, unlock bootloader warning... only happen in recovery/booting or even when the phone runs?
4. Any risky things such as bootloop and cannot be fixed .....
Thank you very much.
Same Question from me
Hi,
Same Question from me too.
Please someone who has done this, please reply.
I had rooted/flashed many mobiles, but its being increasingly confusing for xt1033 with every new versions of rom / bootloaders and increasing numbers of Bootloop and HARD Bricks described in this forum.....
Please experts, please reply.
Before proceeding, check the Motorola website to make sure the bootloader can be unlocked.
Unlocking the bootloader will also wipe all data and apps from the phone; that is, it will perform a factory reset.
In my experience, phone operations are not be affected by unlocking the bootloader and installing a custom recovery except you cannot install stock OTA updates without stock recovery.
