Rooting Optimus 3D MAX P720H

Hello, i've no right to post in Development sub forum, so i put it here.
I have LG Optimus 3D MAX P720H and followed this thread

and got error 'Fail to find file'. After checking the problem i found that the update files for P720H have different name from original thread ('LGP720h_AP[0*].bin' instead of 'LGP720_AP[0*].bin') and file 'hdcp.sh' which MaxRoot.exe looking for is in LGP720h_AP[06].bin
So, for anybody that has P720H and has the same problem. pls. download this file
LGP720h_AP[06].rar (http://www.mediafire.com/?78s4bacbund8tb1)
and extract it. after LGMobile Supporting Tool update until you see file 'LGP720h_AP[06].bin' (should be waiting until 'LGP720h_AP[07].bin' appear) just replace it with the file extracted from LGP720h_AP[06].rar
I'm not sure if the file i posted against any rules. If it is and removed, you guys just copy file LGP720h_AP[06].bin during update, rename it to LGP720_AP[02].bin, run MaxRoot.exe, rename it back to LGP720h_AP[06].bin

ok, here's some short instruction (mostly copied from original post anyway )
1. Connect USB to Max.
2. Check USB debugging.
3. Execute Rooting.bat
4. After put some files, Max will reboot. then press and hold volume up button to go to S/W Upgrade mode.
If you fail, try manually. turn off your max. and while hold volume up button, connect usb to Max.
5. *** You can close command prompt which running Rooting.bat now.
6. Execute LGMobile Support Tool. and after check the connection with Max, Customer Support - Recovery phone. Reocovery phone function doesn't affect your data. If LGMobile Support Tool isn't installed, Execute B2CAppSetup for install support tool.
7. After LGMobile Supporting Tool update until you see file 'LGP720h_AP[06].bin' (should be waiting until 'LGP720h_AP[07].bin' appear) just replace it with the file extracted from LGP720h_AP[06].rar
8. Let updating process finish.
If you follow instruction on original thread, you should normally see that error. But if you replace the file correctly, you should get root even though you get that error

If you have p720, you can use instruction on original thread too
for model differentiation, i think it's about 3G freq.

WARNING: Windows 8 and 8.1 Are having Permission issues, I don`t use Windows 8 so Googleling would help for running the script that needs permission.

1). Download all The Files Below!
1.2). Get Your Firmware Files are HERE!
1.3). Download R&D FlashTool & Other Files :Here
1.4).Download Drivers HERE!
2. unzip
- LGMOBILEAX
- LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix
3. install B2CAppSetup.exe in
LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix\KDZ_FW_UPD_EN
4. go to C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX
remove all files and folder
5. copy all files and folders from LGMOBILEAX that you unzip from step2 to C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX
Method 1. work with vbs script
1. run Automatic Offline Procedure.vbs in \LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix folder
2. now R&D test tools appear please select KDZ File
3. select Normal web upgrade test
4. Select Upgrade start
5. In Select Country & Langauage Please Select Country to Different Country (do not worry if does not has Langauage to select )
6. Process Flashing firmware start...Please waiting just moment.
7. for process 100% you is finishing flash return to stock firmware
Method 2. edit host file

1. Go to windows/system32/drivers/etc/ and open your hosts file! (open it with wordpad)
2 . Add this line at the end of the document:
127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
3. Save hosts file
4. Install msxml (you can find it in the downloaded KDZ_FW_UPD_EN folder)
5. Start http in the shttps folder
6. Start Windows Enabler and turn it on (system tray!)
7. Start UpTestEX_mod2_marwin
8. Flash your .kdz as you normally would

It doesnt seem to work. And I think my phone is not turnin on anymore. I will bring this on a repair shop of my friend they can do the trick.

That doesn't make much since to me though. The part of rooting with EVERY phone company. Rooting voids warranty no matter what country.

Just for clarification, I now have this device after previously having a G2 and have this set up for the G2 on an old windows 7 laptop. Will my set-up now work for this device or is it different in any way?

It has been working on my G Pro and now on my G2. So I guess it will work on the G Pro 2 as well.

[LG-H960AY/AR] ROOT H960AY Variant Using TOT File

Recently XDA Member @tungkick posted a method to root LG-H960A
However, different variants like H960AY gave error "TOT File is Invalid".
I managed to avoid it with some Hex-editor changes:
Use at your own risk!!
Tested on my H960AY and working
Other variants like H960AR can give it a try, it might work as well - Please - tell us.
Instructions:
1. Download Fixed TOT File for H960AY - Here.
(If you have a different variant like h960AR: open a hex editor like HxD, Locate first line that has "AY" and change the letter to your own model.
This will bypass validation check of LGUP. Theres a reason for these checks, however in our case there shouldn't be changes between H960A, H960AY, H960AR etc...
2. Download LG USB Drivers - Here
3. Download LGUP - Props to @tungkick .
4. Install LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi.
5. Install LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_1_18.msi
6. Copy "common" folder to "C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model"
7.Boot V10 into Download Mode (turn off -> press volume+ -> connect usb to your PC while volume+ pressed)
8.Run LGUP --> Select your Phone --> Select bin file (The file you downloaded)
--> Choose: Upgrade (so you won't lose data).
9. Enjoy a rooted V10.

You should look for differences in devices(maybe different bands - in that case i don't know what will happen)
If there aren't major differences then yes, try editing the file(step 1) and flash.
The worst outcome is that you'll have to send it to repair(to flash original). Please consider before attempting.

Where do you get the exact model number? Is it from the hidden menu?

Yes. You only need to change the first occurence, it seems to statisfy the LGUP Software.

yeah, i followed the guide step by step without changing the file in hex editor and it worked, i also managed to root another(friends) device with this method.

Gorgemuo6 says he has the 960AY version. its not like 960YK even though he says he is in israel. be careful about doing the same lushmolik. I have the 960YK as well. I think it's better to wait than be sorry.

AT&T H810 Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 mode Solution

I have Just Repaired my H810 after 6 month dead . Now I have full procedure to recover any LG Phone witch has in this condition ,there is no download mode,no recovery and nothing sign of life..
Now you want *.img from running AT&T /h810v10o/H81020n/ h81021z/h81022b (lolipop/marshmallow baseband ) Firmware because there is no full stock firmware available .
Create Backup.img From Running h810v10o/H81020n/ h81021z/h81022b (lolipop/marshmallow baseband ) rooted system
1.Format external MicroSD card with exFAT system file , ( Most Important thing is SD card more than 32GB (which is size of the whole partition) use 64Gb or 128Gb card
2.Do a full factory reset from CWM TWRP or any recovery
3.Now open ADB shell
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/storage/sdcard1/backup.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=579584
it will take around sone time
Size of the backup.img is arround 32gb
Now You have backup.img in your hands
now same method to unbrick
Steps to Unbrick:
1. Insert your memory card in Card Reader and Format it using Windows Format. While formatting "uncheck Quick Format" and Change Type to "exFat". You can alternatively use SD Card Formatter but make sure that the card is in exFat format.
if exFAT not works than try to format with FAT32
2. Once format is completed, install Win32DiskImager and open it. Add SystemImage.bin file. If it does not show the bin file just rename SystemImage.bin to SystemImage.img and then select it. Select your memory card and Click Write.
(You can alternatively change the file types on the win32diskimage from .img to all types)
Win32diskimage
3. One the Write Completes. Eject Card and insert in your LG G4 H810. Press Volume Up Button while connecting the USB Cable.
4. There you go, it will open the download mode. Now Open LGUP Tool as admin. It will show the device as connected. Select the Original KDZ/TOT Firmware and Click Start. it will complete and your Mobile will reboot.
5. Now its Done. Enjoy!
or u can use eMMC ADB Dumper
dump boot1
and boot2
any of one images works to get download mode

Hello master, i have the same problem, my h810 at&t is dead since a long time, please what files used?? i tried with many files and write in my sd 32 gb and still dead, i believe the files is wrong and you have the one, please up the file, be my savior .

GENTLEMAN I HAVE JUST SOLD MY PHONE , you need a Running H81020n/ h81021z/h81022b (marshmallow baseband ) (marshmallow ,old baseband not supported)rooted system to create bin file . i ahve already posted to create bin file method , believe me its work 100% . no other files works because h810 have different partition size ( not work 811,812,815,818 bin file ) , important thing is that you need a working marshmallow rooted h810 to create files . one thing is also important that you need to 32 gb microsd or greater to backup the image

We don't have root with marshmallow on H810. So we can't make a dump.

you just upload the lolipop rooted emmc backup for users

Many peoples are still using rooted lollipop for h810, even i was using it , its seems like just they are not interested to upload 1gb of file

this file is not created by this method so its not work for bootable sd card , its for use any kind of box Z3X or emmc pro

I seen in gsmforum that it can be fixed using medusa box by selecting h811 as product then flashing it with kdz file of h810.
Shops in my city dont have that box , you can go to shop in your city and try if they have that box

You stated that you made a backup from a working phone that we can use to recover. Do you have this image uploaded somewhere so we can download it to repair our dead h810's?
