Only took 10 seconds of looking to find this thread, I'm sure a search would have turned it up for you.

Pretty much pointless though.

Thanks..
I have already seen that thread. People were not sure that after downgrading on 5.1 there is still not root available. So thats why I am asking.
Complete answer and guide will be highly appreciated

There is no way to downgrade and have permanent root. That thread is all the hope there is... If such a guide existed it would have been stickied.

[Q] Noob question roms

I just want to get this straight before I do anything rash. In order to install a custom rom ie MOAR on my sm-900p if the rom says 5.0.2 does my android version have to be the same or can it be 5.0 and still work without bricking? Along these same lines, is it possible to downgrade to 4.4.4 via the stock room and will there be any issues? I have also read about leaked stuff like I am running 5.0 and if I wanted to somehow get a leaked 5.0.2 rom how does this work?
Thanks in advance.

If you want to install MOAR, check the MOAR FAQ and it should answer all you questions. Post#2 is a step by step on installing. Recommend you stay away from leaked versions until you're more comfortable about how to get out of a problem. MOAR 6.0 is based on the official Lollipop release. If you have any MOAR questions after you've read the instructions, feel free to post on that thread.

Ty for the response, but, I already realize that there is a rom for 5.0 it was just an example. I really wanted to know about the android versions and if they have to be the same ie can I flash a rom that is for 5.0.2 even though my android version is 5.0?

Yes you can. You can also go back to 4.4.x but it requires flashing firmware back for Kitkat.

I appreciate that. It shows the update 21r but doesn't show what the update is about. I believe this is the last update I'll need for a while so I should be able to root at this point and post up for a while.
Yes id wait for marshmallow to be out for a while to to see bugs and such before updating to it too i run kk until about 2 months ago just because of all the bugs

Sm-905v 5.1.1 rootable? New to all this.

I read that I can and then i cannot root my table sm-905v 5.1.1. If I can't root it on this firmware can I downgrade to 4.4.2 to root it? If so how do I do it. Thanks for any help new to all this android stuff.

You may be one of the fortunate ones... there's a Marshmallow rom out there for your tablet. Here's the thread, which has links to the stuff you'll need along with some directions on usage.

bit of help please

Hi all ok my query may be a quick one to answer. Tried my best researching this forum but their is so many different roots for your phone dont know which are good and which arn't.
Basically at this stage not interested in customer roms as my phone is fairly new and will plan to try some roms later on. At this moment in time i just need simple root access as im wanting to play emulators and the controllers connected wont connect as i dont have root access. I would like it rooted but to kep on the same stock rom and dont want the knox to be affected.
Which is the best, safest most successful way to just root the s6? and as always can it be reverted at any time? Many thanks

As of now there is no method available which could root your phone without tripping knox (except for 5.0.2),

CF-AutoRoot is probably the best way to go. It does most of the work for you. The phone can be unrooted, I guess, but KNOX will >always< be tripped
And I really wouldn't bother waiting around for a method to be developed that doesn't trip KNOX... People aren't hopeful and there doesn't seem to be much of an appetite from developers to create a method either
Thanks for the response, so what exactly will go wrong or happen if the KNOX is tripped? who do it connect to? and can it be un tripped if root access is removed? Just weighing up my options as im about 4 months into this s6 contract with EE
Thanks again.

There's NO WAY to untrip Knox for Exynos 7420 devices -for now-
If the KNOX tripped, you just can't use Samsung Pay and if you're rooted, you can't get OTA. If you reflash your device with Smart Switch, you'll get the OTA support again but there's no way to get the Samsung Pay support back.

info about root & eventually nougat

Hello guys,
i'm hating my z3 6.x because i can not move app on sd, so i've decided to gain root access for app2ds feature and maybe install nougat.
Can you suggest me a easy guide to root (maybe no onerootclick or similar, i would like to learn something) and maybe a nougat stable rom or at least the best rom that do not lose any official function in 6.x?
thx a lot,
andrea

There is no official Nougat for Z3, it will never be: http://www.androidauthority.com/android-7-0-snapdragon-800-801-712930/
You need an unlocked bootloader and start testing work-in-progress custom ROMs from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/orig-development
Or if you just want root on MM, use the device to upgrade to the latest official Marshmallow release .291, and then follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/recovery-root-mm-575-291-lb-t3435214
