battery thermal sensor location - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, I'm dealding with an S6 G920F with charging problem ( Charging paused. Battery temperature too low)
I looked around but i didn't found any real fix, some says it's the battery , some the usb flat, some the mobo.
Now, does anybody know where the battery thermal sensor is located? on the charging board like old S4 or it's on the battery circuit?
thanks

it is on charging port

Even a damaged charging port jack can cause this too, just an FYI.

It would not be recommended as it may actually damage the battery or even the charging circuit which charges the battery in your R if it can't withstand the higher rate of charging.

thanks, i will stay away from that tab charger don't wanna damage my phone
A higher amp output should be ok.
A higher voltage is the one you should be worried about.

But cooleagle said maybe it can damage battery and/or charging circuit

Simple Guidelines When Buying a Charger
Use the correct charger for battery chemistry. Most chargers serve one chemistry only.
The battery voltage must agree with the charger. Do not charge if different.
Within reasons, the Ah rating of a battery can be higher or lower than specified. A larger battery will take longer to charge than a smaller one and vice versa.
The higher the amperage of the charger, the shorter the charge time will be. There are limitations as to how fast a battery can be charged.
Accurate charge termination and correct trickle charge prolong battery life.
When fully saturated, a lead acid charger should switch to a lower voltage; a nickel-based charger should have a trickle charge NiMH; a Li-ion charger provides no trickle charge.
Chargers should have a temperature override to end charge on a malfunctioning battery.
Observe the temperature of the charger and battery. Lead acid batteries stay cool during charge; nickel-based batteries elevate the temperature towards the end of charge and should cool down after charge; Li-ion batteries should stay cool throughout charge.

One more reason why we should be extremely cautious when using other chargers is that when using the charger provided by Samsung I have observed that the charger cuts off the supply to the battery when the battery reaches 100 %.
It may not be the same when using other chargers which will lead to over charging the battery. This continuous over charging can reduce the life of the battery.
Lastly you can experiment as much as you want ( BTW that's why most people are on this forum ) its your decision, but see to it that you are not damaging the battery or the handset in the process.
Its not the charger that cuts off power supply to the phone.
It's the memory chip inside the battery that supplies information to initiate the cut off.
That is why it's highly recommended to use original batteries in ur phone so that the phone will not burst into flames !!!
A Smart Charger, on the other hand, has a built in circuitry that does the cutting off and after that continues to trickle charger the batteries to maintain the charge on the batteries. U can usually see this for car chargers.
These chargers cost way more than ur average Samsung charger.
Cheers !
thanks for guys for giving your valuable opinions
today i thought i should give it a try
i used stock micro usb to usb cable to connect with that charger and plugged in but something weird happened
when i plugged in charger screen lights up with with notification tone as usual but touch screen stopped responding
both touch screen and touch sensitive buttons stopped working only home button was working after removing that charger all things started to work again normally really strange

Car charger charges phone very slowly

Hi, i was trying few microUSB car chargers and I couldnt use my navigation due to slow charging (so phone was down in few hours). I bought griffin car charger with 2 USB ports with 2100mA and the problem is still there.
I read about this little bit and i found that shorting data pins will help. But they had "charging (USB)" status and I have good status like (Charging (AC)" mode, so this not fit to me. There is any other fix to fix the problem?
You need to find a car charger that has more power. I had the same problem whilst using Google Maps and streaming music with Spotify. The screen brightness was on max and the charger did nothing but slow down the depletion of the battery.

I think 2.1 A should be enough and I have tried few chargers. Standard original wall charger is 500mA.
I use only Google maps with screen around 40% and battery is going down. Without gps and screen on it charging something like few % per hour (similar for usb charging
I had same problems with a good "branded" charger. After replacing it with cheap one just for testing purposes, my problems were gone. Those chargers are not always what they say they are.
OK there is any way to change battery current while charging USB and AC?
here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23616565&postcount=5 ( "10)" ) i found that is possible but that topic and kernel is not for desire S. There is any solution for us?

Galaxy S8+ Battery temp -20 celsius.

Hi
My phone says that the battery temp is -20 (tried with different apps )
When I try to charge it says: Charging paused, battery temp too LOW.
I have tryed to change the daughterboard, but still same problem.
Also tried with another battery.
I can't see any water damage.
Could it be in the software?
Are you using an original samsung battery?

Yes!
Have you checked that the nfs / wireless charger cover is replaced properly. I had to replace my charging board and without that piece conected properly the phone wont charge and gives that same error message ?

I believe most batteries have a built in thermistor (temperature sensor), if you have changed batteries then that would seem to rule out the temperature sensor which seems to leave either the connection between battery thermistor and board or the circuit that measures the thermistor resistance and hence derives temperature

Disable Thermo Sensor after phone root --temperature too low, charging stop

Hi guys,
I broke my Samsung Note 10 wireless charger coil, on which there is a thermo sensor for batter charging. Now the battery cannot charge with warning 'temperature too low, charging stop'.
Does anybody know how and where can I set the temperature value of thermo sensor manually after phone is rooted? or how can I fix it without replace hardware, like turning off the function of charging temperature monitoring?
Thank you, guys.
Bill

I use heat gun slowly heat it up for about 5 mins? and then open the back cover with my hand in blue gloves. Then tear off the coil using my right hand. Is this explicit?

Help with charging

Recently, my got hit by the floor i the back, and at this point every time i connected it to the charger it wouldn't charge saying it's cold.
I tried replace the wireless module, the battery and even the charging port module.
I also formatted the phone but nothing seems to be helping.
If anyone here has a solution for me, i would love to hear it.

Sounds like a hardware related issue.
Does charging via USB cable work? Or via wireless charging?
The phone says that it's too cold to charge? If it is not that cold, maybe the temperature sensor is defect preventing the phone from charging the battery

High g impacts can damage chipsets, crack solder joints and... thermistors. May be just a loose connector but it needs to come apart to be repaired.
Get the battery replaced while it's being repaired.
