Change CUST ROM - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I know this should be a lame or noob question, but there is:
I have a Mate 8 NXT-L09, compilation NXT-L09C521B138, which is from Movistar Latin America (vendor=telefonica, Country=la). It came with some preloaded apps, customized boot animation, and some system configurations I cannot modify (such as SMS gateway, so I can't send any SMS). I want to install some "clean" compilation, and I looked up the compilation of a stock phone in a Huawei Store of my country, and it was NXT-L09C605B100, and it comes without any custom configuration.
So, my question is: Can I install any CUST compilation to my phone? or I'm stucked in the "C521 Series" compilation? is there any compatible list or something like that?
Thanks a lot, any advice would be apreciated. Sorry for my bad english.

+1 to you question, I have the same problem with my Mate 8 L09C25B120 Claro Honduras LA, I need flash clean stock firmware

You need to unlock bootloader and fatboot flash cust.img you want . Use huawei extractor to get cust image from desired rom

Hello,
I would like to debrand my phone. I read some guide here and I will use srk tool.
Now I'm on c02b133.
Which is the correct procedure?
have I to install via dload c432b136, go to c900 and then unlock bootloader, root e oem info file?
Or have I to unlock bootloader, root, oem info file and then flash the rom c432?.
I have this doubt because in some post, someone told to reinstall stock recovery after root, and forced the installation of the stock rom..so I'm not sure about correct way.
Thank to everyone

if you would like to go back to , you can do with the same method.

Need some help.
i've used this toolkit to unlock, twrp and root. All done perfectly. After that i want to change my oeminfo from C900 to C432. iv'e backuo of the oeminfo and then used this toolkit to change that but, my phone first stuck in boot and lost TWRP and root.
Then when it is power on it shows a red message(normally it is yellow/orrange) and i cant install TWRP,root or lock BT again, all failed
SOLVED: Flash the new version in sdcard. Restored BL locked, recovery and all went fine. Finally.
What can i do?
This is the first procedure to debrand the Phone?
Hello guys
I'm from italy, and in this week i'll receive my new huawei p9, but there is a problem: is brand vodafone!
So the updates are reeeeally slow...like the last was b133, and i saw something like b180 on the no brand smartphones :S
So i was searching how to debrand the p9 and i saw this guide:
"to debrand the phone, the boot loader has to be locked and with the stock recovery.
create a folder in the sd called "dload"
download the ROM Stock EVA-l09C432B136 file, and place in the dload folder
turn off the device and reboot it pressing power+volume up+volume down"
I don't know if this is old or what, its still working?
Many thanks,
Andrea

[BOUNTY] to anyone that can workout and provide a guide to re brand AL00 to L29
I personally pledge £50
And whoever can also figure out a way to enable oem unlocking on the L29 should be in the bounty.
In the past there was a file you flashed in stock recovery that allowed you to downgrade your Android version. I wonder if you can get ahold a similar file for the 20X if you could rebrand with that. Here's how it may be able to get done. Merge the custs (the AL00 and L29) together into a twrp flashable zip and flash it in twrp. Then copy the full L29 rom zip on to your internal storage into a folder called dload. Then fastboot flash the boot, system, recovery etc from the L29 stock rom. Then shut down and hold in vol up + vol down and power to enter emergency recovery mode. Recovery will attempt to flash the full rom that is in the dload folder. If this update doesn't fail then you will be converted. I don't have an AL00 or else I would try this. It's the way we were able to rebrand some Huwei devices in the past.
The updater usually looks for the oeminfo (cust) for the Global version and if it is present along with the original (Chinese cust) the Global update would actually go through (or it would fail at 98 percent on the cust part but still boot) which we could then fix by flashing the L29 cust in fastboot or the merged cust in twrp.

L29 won't work as permission to enable option to unlock bootloader is not accessible .. problem is dat on L29 there is more security added +FRP lock .. AL00 has no FRP .. and no disabled allowance to unlock bootloader.. toggle option is not there so AL00 bootloader can be unlocked...
You can do tricks only with AL00 ..

In the past DCUnlocker could remove FRP and retrieve your bootloader code on most Huawei phones
The .172 update enables OEM unlock on the L29 device. Rebranding could he coming soon. :fingers-crossed:

Rebrand from BKL-L09 (C432) to BKL-L09 (C636)

Hi,
Can someone help me rebrand from BKL-L09 (C432) to BKL-L09 (C636)?
I have 2 Honor view 10 phones (originally BKL-AL20) that are rebranded by the shop were I bought them to BKL-L09. Unfortunetly they are stuck on an old version!
Current SW:
BKL-L09 8.0.0.110(C432)
But since they are not getting updates I was planning on flashing complete OTA update but I think rather flash C636. Or is some other region more recommended?
Can someone please provide me with steps and files to flash C363?
I also have a Mate 8 were I recently rebranded from C432 to DL00 and I only needed to flash the DL00 oeminfo and then went to erecovery and downloaded/installed latest firmware from there without any other steps. Would this work for the Honor view 10 if i get the C636 oeminfo for it?
Best Regards,
Leo
Yes the rebrand is same on view 10, flashing oeminfo file and flash regarding ROM.
But there's a major problem here: there is no more free way to unlock the bootloader.
Even if your device is unlocked, if you rebrand it, most prolly you will lost the unlock status and your unlock code wont work.
Means you need to pay third party unlock service (again).
I'm on right opposite from you, having C636 (im on EMUI9 with stock recovery so i cant provide you a oeminfo file), thinking of rebranding to C432.
Why would you like to move to C636 (Asia Other, means SEA and some)? C432 (Europe Unlock) is quite nice region I think?
Europe is the most huawei selling region except china mainland, receiving most updates as i know.
If you are living in asia you can try India region, which is also quite update-receiving region i think.

Well the reason I want to do anything at all is because the phones are not receiving any updates. Both phones are stuck at 8.0.0.110.
You might be right, my earlier experience was that Europe did not get that much love as China/Asia. But I maybe should try to get phones updated. Problem is I have tried and nothing works. I tried built in update, HiSuite, HiCare and dload method.
I really y don't know why it fails, probably something went wrong when the phones were rebranded by the shop.

Did you try the No-check recovery? Mine was fishy too (rebranded by the shop, no OTA came),
so i did clean 'ROM' flash with No-check recovery and clean 'ROM+all other things' flash with HiSuite.

Now I'm thinking of flashing stock recovery via fastboot (in case something is wrong with it) and then try flash stock rom rom via fastboot.
I found the following for recovery https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-view-10/how-to/stock-recovery-getting-to-stock-t3754797
The question is what need to be done to flash stock rom?
I guess downloading stock from FF, what files are need for fastboot flash this device?

download stock ROM from FF, extract SYSTEM.img, via fastboot: fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img.
straight and simple. in fact you can flash most of .img by this, kind of manual HiSuite.
you did dload method (using stock recovery to flash stock ROM) and failed,
which might means your IMEI is not matching with your region properly (the shop rebranded it wrong),
so i recommended No-check Recovery, which is Modded stock recovery that does not check IMEI while dload process.

Huawei G play mini

Hello,
I have a huawei f play mini bought in EU chc-u01 , it had android 4.4.2 i updated it to 5.1 trough dload method on ext card.
it change my model name to chm-u01 and balong310 , i search and its the rom of honor 4c and iit's compatible.
i wanted to upgrade it to android 7 installing lineageos.
i flash TWRP and wipe out everything including the os itself idk how , what's strange is i can't get any rom instalatiion whatsoever now and i dont know why
it always fails with error 7 (wich why already tried to remove asserts line on update-script file oon the rom and still cant install) it gives a error in update-script evev after edit.
idk what to do does some kind soul can help me ? thanks
Error 7 is mostly the case when you're trying to flash a ROM that was not built for your device, you can forcibly flash it by removing the asserts line.
However, there's another case where it can show up. It's when the code has a mistake, or the ROM is LITERALLY NOT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR PHONE.
The ROM has a line commanding an extraction of a compressed file, the file I corrupted, or there's a mistake in the code. It can cause error 7.
The ROM is trying to extract a file to a block device, but it fails, because that block device is not compatible with the file, or too small to absorb the file. For an example, 2014's low-end Samsung phones had a maximum size of 8 MBs (maybe 12?) for the kernel, so trying to flash another device's ROM will not complete successfully, because the boot.img cannot be extracted/flashed.
You need to update your bootloader.
You may have to use another recovery version with a stable tag.
Your /system filesystem is probably messed up, you need to format it to its default EXT4 files filesystem.
Flash stock ROM.
Use a PC tool to flash ROMs.
Helllo and thanks for your quick the answer.
i also tried with sp flash tool, but i did not suceed. i cant find a working stock also .
