Hello, has anyone seen the original HTC car kit, made by Herbert Richter, for Diamond? I wish to buy one cos I had one for my Touch cruise and it's very good in quality.
Cheers!
something like it
looks nice.
now to find someone who sells them
I bought the Gripper 3 from HR Richter with holder Global 9
I now have a E-ten M700 with original holder, the back and sides of the phone now have scratches because of the holder.
So if you want to protect you're phone against scatches buy a universal holder,
and every time you buy another phone you don't have to buy another holder.

I want to buy Herbert Richter GRIPPER 3 for the diamond but can anyone suggest which kind of arm buy? I have a Toyota Yaris and the windscreen it's far away from driver...
i think this one it's ok: Herbert Richter GLOBAL 2 Banana Suction Mount but it's sufficient long ?
the other two are: Herbert Richter GLOBAL 4 Rotating Tower Suction Mount
Herbert Richter Gooseneck Suction Mount
gooseneck can be long enough but what about vibrations ??

Linda, this is what we call BAD timing from a manufacturer point of view.
Your team's were not aware about this upcoming product
It would take me 10 days to make a mold in Guangzhou, so I guess you're having other issues @ brodit no?
So, Proclip, or holdmyphone.com will neither obtain the holder as they buy from Brodit SE ?
I paid 106 USD for a Brodit Honda CRV clip + holder for my TytnII, and I do not complaint about the fricking price for 2 pieces of plastic , but at least I and many others hope on a good - quick - service.
Just my two cents.
I've the Universal carkit of HTC. I sale him. So contact me with a pm!!

Guys,
This Herbert Richter holder comes without the arm right?
Can this holder be used with the arm that comes with the P3300/Cruise? (It's from Germany, and I don't know the name)
Coz I have P3300 arm which I used for the Cruise as well (just changed the holder). Really good arm, and I wish to continue using it with the diamond.
Thanks!

I asked Kidigi and make an order directly from them. It was 60 USD with delivery and Euro charger (about 46 euros). The original from Expansys costs 59 euros and from Clove 51 euros. Let's see when it comes. Not cheep one, but it looks good and there are power, usb and headset sockets.
I thought Kidigi only sell their products in volume ? Do you order only 1 unit of the cradle from Kidigi direct ?

Yes, only one. Maybe they sell it to me, because they have not yet any distributor with EU changer.

For this price (even cheaper)you can get a original craddle here

But the original doesn't charge a spare battery, which while it looks nice, is a let down.

Not true, there the cradle costs with taxes and delivery € 52,26. You have always count the total cost, the advertised price is not the whole truth.
The original has less connectors, uses the original charger etc. The original charger looks nice, but the shape doesn't suit well with other chargers in the same splitter.
If you buy the HTC Travel charger with the cradle, the total is € 67,34, I paid € 45,68. So?
Kidigi

I sent several messages through their website however no replies. By any chance do you have a contact at Kidigi?
Thanks

Ik zie niet in waarom niet, de meeste schade die dit soort imitatie apparaten aanrichten is daar waar de connectie word gemaakt oftewel het stekkertje aan de telefoon, dan neem je gewoon de originele kabel.

In your case, but NOT in my case. I have to count all the costs, which I pay to get the cradle home. After all that I got the Kigidi cheaper from them than any original from anybody. It's just useless to compare your situation to my situation. I'm not going to fly to the Netherlands to get the cradle without 15 euros delivery costs.
Of course Kigidi has their own charger and of course I can get general charger cheaper than the original, but if I buy the original cradle, why should I then buy a cheapo charger? If you like to know, I have an iGO charger, which offers the best flexibility to charge any small device anywhere just changing the tips (two at same time). I have tips for the HTC, Nokia, TomTom, Sony Ericsson, etc. I don't know what you wanted to suggest behind the non-working link (and I don't even care).
In my opinion you get most features with less money when you buy a Kidigi Diamond Deluxe Cradle, that's the reason why I'm gonna get one.
There is no reason to continue with comparision to the original cradle. They are as far from each other as the original TF3D is from the TF3D with XDA extensions.

If you like to compare the TF3D and the one with XDA extension like the original and the Kidigi than you sugest that the TF3D with XDA extension is beter, do you realy mean this? If so you can compare than the cheapo cradle aswell with the Kidigi and original and to your opinion the cheapo can even become the best buy.

My Diamond with SecondToday, TodayAgenda, extra tabs, tweaks, colors etc makes the phone much more usable than the version out of the box. With some extensions from XDA I'll can use the phone with localized views. There is NOT a finnish WinMO from HTC. There is some localized views in the phone, but HTC doesn't offer any way to get them in use, XDA forums does. HTC has no daring to compete with Nokia in Finland.

The Kidigi is not a cheapo cradle, it is much more flexible than the original. That was my reason to choose it. Who has made the original cradle? HTC itself, I doubt it, it comes from some OEM manufacturer.
The HTC Shop offers Herbert Ripper Car holder. In your way the Ripper must be the best because it is from HTC. Not true, I have the Brodit holder which is designed for Diamond with same power, usb and headset connections as the Kigidi has. The Brodit is just the best car holder, there is no rival for it.
In my case, decisions which I have done, suits just perfecly to me and all the money I have used, it's all my money. Maybe you have other values to choose, their are up to you.
This conversation is now merely offtopic, it is time to end it here. Life is...

Yes, it is freshly added into Brando webshop. The cradle offered in Brando are all from Kidigi, and have waited for this deluxe cradle to be hosted in its webshop. In Expansys you may find the same Kidigi cradle for Touch Pro but Expansys renames it to Expansys deluxe cradle. Other cradle are all from Kidigi but Expansys does not use this name only. Therefore Brando will be a better place to deal with since you buy it with better price than Expansys with the same cradle from OEM Kidigi. This time Expansys has not offer Kidigi deluxe cradle for Diamond.
I hope so since I also attach 1340 mAh extended battery with my Diamond and it is more or less similar thickness with US version. I have tried Touch Pro cradle and it cannot synchronize with host pc but only charging. Anyway I prefer this than the HTC one since it provides spare battery slot and AC plug. I may use it with original 900 mAh battery or to see whether Diamond with extended battery may be inserted into the slot or not. Perhaps I may remove the battery cover when synchronization.
I'm keeping an eye on this too.
I want to see if it will fit the Sprint Diamond.
I have the Igonemobile dock which I like just fine.
This one does look better though.
So if anyone does try the Sprint Diamond with this dock please let us know how it goes.
tks
Hi everyone,
I bought a portable power source several days ago via Internet, and to be honest, this power source is really nice.
This power kit, which owns a capability of 2200mAh, is packed by 'dopod' (a company that affiliated to hTC), and it can force your phone to using its power as priority when it is plugged in.
BTW, the output port is mini USB, that means this power source not only can be used as Diamond's backup battery, but also can be applied to any kind of devices that supports miniUSB charging. Cheers!

just got one of these and I will test it for a few days

I just got a PowerPal (another AA battery device) as an emergency solution, should be handy for camping trips too.
I went into Jessops in York today (UK camera shop) and found they were doing Energizer Ultimate Lithium 4-packs for £3.91. If you believe their PDF datasheet, they have way more power than an alkaline battery under larger current draws.
How about this by Energizer...

Another one I am going to be investing in before CES this year is a Callpod FuelTank... 4300mAh battery plus the ability to charge 2 items at once....

I've been using the callpod dragon (first and second gen) for sometime with great success... I love it.... no chargepod in my car, but thinking about it soon....
How about this one? Found it at expansys while looking for external battery solutions....

I am looking for a case with built in keyboard but they must be hard plastic keys! Not the silly silicon ones.
I can't seem to find one that is compatible with the touchpad/iPad 1 for sub 40 pounds. If anyone finds one please tell me otherwise I will find myself forking out for a Zaggmate!
Thanks again
Check ebay for a used zaggmate. I got one for 40 USD in good condition..
I have emailed manufacturers like zagg, logitech, NewTrent, someone else emailed clamshell, nobody seems interested in making one for the TP especially since they aren't making anymore.
Only other option is one of those cheap-looking leather ones.. OR I was also considering just a nice case/stand around 20 dollars and the OEM keyboard been around 30 dollars.

Thanks for that mate! Yeh that's where I've been looking and I can only find one for 60gbp minimum! Whereas the one for the iPad 2 is going for 20gbp!! In multiple places too :-( so really wondering why the iPad 1 zagg mate is so expensive. I don't think it will fit a zaggmate2 will it?

couldn't be sure.. have to check the dimensions of the ipad 1 vs. ipad2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275443
This thread (above) says ipad 2 is not only thinner which we knew but the length and width are slightly different. Also the keyboard on the zaggmate for ipad2 uses a logitech keyboard which looks identical to zaggkeys solo so the TP may fit better in the stand but I can't say exactly for the case because of the difference in measurements. Someone may have to just get one to try it out and let the rest of us know but with the measurement differences I would say it won't fit in the case.

EDIT saying that I have just found it going on the site I recently bought my headphones from for only £40 because the box is missing.... Am seriously considering it! Most other folio keyboard cases go for about that price on ebay....
Hello guys! I just stumbled upon this new chinese phone called the Star X5 IRON MAN that claims to be the world's thinnest metal smartphone with a really impressing 5.88mm ultra thin body!
What's really impressive about it in addition to the mid-range specs is it's amazing price of only 89.77$!
I'm really looking forward to buy it if I don't set my mind on a Galaxy S5 clone...
What do you guys think of it? has anyone already bought it?
The only website selling it for now is Fastcardtech
Seems legit.
i don't feel like to have a very thin phone.. i mean i can't feel it in my pocket
