Works, looks good, like the swipe up app drawer.
Only in settings, the home screen layout settings crashes.
I'm on stock 4.1.6 not rooted.

Wouldn't your method just remove it as a widget? Meaning it's still counting steps but just the widget is removed.

I have it on mate 20 emui 9.1
if it's not there just go to settings and on top in search type step it should lead you where it's been moved ...
Not sure if it's the same with the mate 30 or not. But on the mate 20x still counts steps even with the Huawei health app removed.
GSAM shows step counter under usage, under Android system sensor information.
Also Aida64 shows it being used at a hardware level under the menu of sensors. So in essence my device records steps whether you like it or not. Check your device using the two apps I mentioned above.

It seems to be a Huawei feature or issue as I'm on emui 9.1
I have a feeling that without root there won't be a way of stopping the in-built step counter sensor from recording steps even with H Health removed. Like I mentioned, I don't even have a step counter on my lock screen, yet GSAM and Aida64 show the step counter being used all the time.
Keep us updated it you come across anything .

The only way to stop showing steps in the lock screen in by changing the theme, all the OOB themes have steps count.
After you download a new theme, you can go to Themes->Me->Customize->Lock screen style to apply only the lock screen style

Launcher updated with app drawer

Just received an update on the system launcher and there is now finally an app drawer option!
This is nice - thought we would have to wait till the 12 update. It now makes the system launcher usable for me and maybe I can finally stop using a third party one!
Hi.
I haven't had any updates.
My version of MIUI is the 11.0.10 and the Launcher version is RELEASE-4.15.1.1406-s.
What version of the Launcher do you have after the update?
Thanks.

It's been updated again since app drawer update. See attached.
But have you ever manually installed a launcher update?
The version I have is the same version I had when i got my MI 10 PRO.
I don't have the app drawer.
Yes - it prompted me. If you go to Settings, Systems app updater do you have any updates?

No, no update.
It's rare that new versions are coming out and don't detect them for updating.

Unable to Update MIUI12 Firmware

Just received my Poco X3 and tried to "Check For Updates" for the MIUI 12 Firmware.
1) When I click on "Check For Updates" nothing seems to happen
2) When I click on "What's new" to view the changelog, it says "You don't have permissions to access the update log. Make sure the account you signed in with has the required permissions".
Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? I'd assume 12.0.1.0 (which the device is on) is the latest firmware, but i should be able to view the update log at least?

I have the same experience as you, i would guesse the logic behind it is that there is no change log since it's the first release for this phone
I think it's only beta changelog

Exactly that, it's a bug that has been seen on MIUI 12 a lot, no biggie, but it gets the users quite riled up as they assume they're missing on an update.

I just checked and an OTA update to MIUI V12.0.2.0 (QJGEUXM) is available now on my Poco X3. Installed, working fine.
This time with changelog, but it is limited to

Optimized system performance
Improved system security and stability
