How do I setup Android pay and go on the mate 9?

If you mean Android Pay you need to first download the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel

Guide to enable Google services on China variant AL00

Hi everyone,
I've been seeing many people having issues with installing Google framework on the AL00 variant.
The fact is that Google framework is already baked in and it is just a simple update to enable it.
1. Open app gallery and change country to China
2. Search for Google play store and click update
3. After update, click on open
4. The usual setup will appear
5. Done.
After the above steps, the majority of Google services and sync, etc should all be working.
* Update - OK Google does not work out of the box.
Have a good time with your new baby ?
Cheers!

I should say Google framework instead of services. I need to test out Google assistant as I don't use it but "OK Google" might not work at all due to Hivoice.
I'll update this thread to reflect more facts.
I just used the browser to look up "Google play store" and it gave me an option to download/update it, I've never opened the app gallery and everything works fine ??
I do the same? thanks

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for the suggestion above. I have legit fried my tiny brain on all aspects of getting google play to activate/update install what have you.
My location in the App Store ALREADY says China - and I am still unable to open or update the Google Play Store.
Any other suggestions? I am also unable to create a Huawei ID for the phone, it keeps saying "Restricted" and won't let me. Any work-arounds for this?

What without Android?

Hello everyone, im interested on upcoming huawei mate 30 pro, but if cant use official Android, what will be happen, how we can use it without google Play

dont you think that google might block them from connecting to their servers etc so it might not be that possible after all
That's what I read, this phone will now able to connect to google calendar or google drive which rely on google service.
Of course, Huawei has Chinese apps alternative as what China people using in China.
mate 30 pro will have android 10 though

I was planing to do the same since its quite easy to install both gplay services and gplay store , but the problem is the phone is not going to get any future android updates. whats going to happen when android 11 comes out.
Andoid is open source so i guess we will get updates, i am going to wait on Huawei to clarify a bit first
Android Open Source Project, AOSP is free to use for anybody. Huawei pay Google about 5$ per device and preinstall Google Apps and Services.
You will get a Huawei Mate 30 with Android 10, EMUI but without Google Play, Gmail, Youtube, etc.
It is Android, so you can install it and use it, like any other Android device. On Xiaomi Mi Store (chinese version) there is a Google Installer.
I understand Google Mobile Services is easy but how about Google Pay and over-riding thaty SafetyNet thing?
I remember there was this work around using MAGISK?? But do u have to root in order for it to work?
confirm can install

Mate 30 fingerprint is safety net compliant
Its fairly easy to install gapps on it
Most of New released models where already pre certified, as this happened before the ban..
Wanda Mobile, a reputable UK retailer, is now selling this phone "with Google Play Store installed".

It will work like any other Android phone except it does not have the licensed Google Mobile Service (GMS) built-in; there is an app that one can download to install the google framework that will install Google assistance which will allow Google Play Store to be installed in the phone. Because the phone does not have GMS so many apps in Google Play Store will not work. One will have to get from alternative source like APKmirror
Ok Guys. I have a M30 and it has not been easy to install GMS on it. As you know LZPlay app is dead. And installing framework, services and play Store is not working. I get force close after the install.
Any thoughts on this? (bootloader locked and unrooted)

Hey, Boas Super Dragão!
Unfortunately it´s not been easy to install gapps since the LZPLay backdoor wich was using undocumentede APIS has been closed. I have a Mate 30 Pro with Bootloader unlocked and no root. I tried a bunch of suspicious GMS installers, and tried to intsall the services and framework manually with all the available permissions and the result is always the same. App force closes. Gracias Juan. For now I am trying to actually install as much as possible of original Google Apps. But that article is very interesting and has some great alternatives.

Going to get the P40 pro but GMS still possible? and some other detail of the phones.

Hi, i think i am going to get the P40 pro once it is out
however, i have been using google services app for so long, the google drive, google map and google photo, google pay(and i am paying monthly too).
My most concern is i still want my photos to be automatically backup to the google photo, means that i need to get the GMS working.
Can i do so with the new P40 pro? I mean not rooting the device can i still get GMS working?
secondly, Google pay, is it already a fact that even if i can get GMS working, i still cannot use Google pay in Huawei phones?
Any body knows the touch sample rate of the phone? I see Xiaomi 10 pro has 180hz, Oppo Find x2 pro has 240hz, but P40 pro didn't mention this during the announcement.
Secondly, same thing happened to my old Huawei Mate 20 pro and Sony Xperia 1. when i move my fingers during the game (ex. pubg), my fingers have to travel long enough for it to detect movement. So during sniper time it is a nightmare. (my iphone 10 and Samsung S9+ are doing perfect in this area)
Yes Google pay will never work as the phone is not certified by Google. I have the P40 Pro in my hands.

Mi 10 Ultra SafetyNet?

Does the Mi 10 Ultra pass SafetyNet? Aka use Google Pay, McDonalds, Pokémon Go.
And if so, how come the Mi 10 passes but the P40 Pro does not (despite both phones coming without GMS preinstalled)?
I have the phone
Security level is L1
Saftey net is as global phone
Google services is running as any global phone..100% no issue with me even in downloading all my bought apps
The only issue is that Google backup and restore is not working and Google Location History is not working. The rest all work fine, Google Pay, maps, play store, etc. on the stock china miui 12 rom of course.
Oops, had a typo. Meant to ask:
How come the Mi 10 Ultra passes but the P40 Pro does not (despite both phones coming without GMS preinstalled)? Neither phone is officially available outside China, so I doubt Xiaomi took the time to Google Certify the Mi 10 Ultra. Where does certification come from?
P40 Pro does not come with GMS pre-installed thanks to Trump.
Trump has banned Google from exporting software and licenses to Huawei, so huawei is legally not allowed to install GMS in their OS, even if not activated.
The last Huawei phone with GMS pre-installed is the P30 Pro.
P40 Pro is also available outside China in many regions with HMS instead.
On the other hand, MIUI comes with GMS pre-loaded inside all their China ROMs as well and also Google certified.
It's just not activated, and even if you activate it in China, it will not work due to the Great China Firewall blocking all GMS.
But once the phone is out of China, that's a different story, we just need to install Play Store and all GMS get activated auto-magically.
Some features are not working great as the China rom still have some tiny blocks, notably Google Location History and Backup and Restore.

If a license from Google to Huawei is all that's required. Why don't they just work around it? Can't Google just release the blob of GMS (I understand releasing the source is probably not a good idea) as freeware that doesn't require a license?
Also, what does Xiaomi use in China if not GMS or HMS?

Google Pay is installed directly from the Play Store. I have use apk mirror for Netflix and Prime Video as that was not available on play store.
Netflix absolutely works. Someone who said it doesn't either doesn't know about side loading or did something wrong. You just have to download the apk from somewhere other than the play store. Works fine.

Try changing NFC setting default wallet to "Use HCE Wallet"

P40 Pro - Some Apps don't work as expected.

Hello to every one. I have the P40 Pro, the latest version up to date. EMUI 12. I have installed google play services and everything seems to be working exept google pay. When i download the app, then i open it and it says that "google pay is updating right now so you won't be able to access the app" and this dont leave even if you restart the phone. Once i installed my bank app it popped out a notification that says "Update google services", once i did update google maps stopped working. It wont load position or the landscapes. And all google apps dont work. I had to do the whole google play store installation again in order to make it work. I think that if i install google play services that i will be able to use google pay. Even the function that you double press the power button open up curve to pay contactlessly by in the end it dont work. It just open the app showing the nfc icon with the card. Also i found out that it open nfc for just a second and then it turns off automatically. Even if i manually open the nfc i cant pay with curve. Is there any way that i could install an app the allows me to pay with nfc? If i downgrade to EMUI 10 will i be able to use that current google play services version in order to make all apps work. Any ideas of how to solve this?
P.S. Another bank of mine have an app functionality that allows me to play contactlessly. I would like to have an app like a wallet that i could add all my banks, like google pay or curve.
Thanks for stopping by to read

I had my curve app installed from Google Play and then i uninstalled it and installed it from GalleryApp. Now when i double tapp on power button it pop ups curve , turns on NFC for a fraction and then turns off. If i open wallet and then select curve and click on pay NFC stays on. Did not tried it yet. So you only need to unlock phone with open NFC and it works? do i have to go to NFC settings and select anything? Also do i have to open curve app?
In NFC settings you had to set Curve as default app for NFC payments.
Yes, it's working after unlocking the phone (with NFC on).
