[Q] Help needed in deciding which case to buy!

Hey guys I ordered my N4 about some time ago and it's gonna be here soon. Meanwhile i was going through the accessories thread and i found many cases here but I'm unable to decide on what to get. Need your help.
Firstly, should i get a full case with a front screen guard or a bumper with front and back protection? I really want to show off the back of my phone but then i don't want to screw it up either so i need your help in deciding for a case combo that will offer good protection. I really don't want flip cases or pouches so that's out of the question now. I've found a few i like and if anyone is using any of them currently, a small review will be appreciated! I bought XO skins for the front and Xtreme guards for the back.
Also bought Poetic Atmostphere for more protection.
And bought the Ringke Slim and Nillkin cases for a slim and good feeling/looking case.
So IMO, I recommend those.

I'm waiting on the Poetic Atmosphere case too, iPhone 5 one looks great for what I'm looking for. Also got the Xtremeguard skins, can't comment on them yet as I don't have the device.. :|

edit: i got a thing for the robot and i am not ashamed to admit it.
what i would like to see in a case is a way to allow for the sound to come out. my att gs2 speaker is slightly curved to allow for it to bounce. everything i see does nothing but smother that which is already smothered. i think i am going to do nothing more than stick a couple of milimeter wide and tall lumps on the bottom corners and call it good.

I bought the Ringke White Slim Case and I love it! It looks awesome and feels awesome. I also just purchased 3 full body xtreme guards. Total was 6 bucks! So i recommend those! :good:

I got BSE, x-line case(i think), a Rearth case, and a Poetic bumper case but I know I will be getting the official bumper and hopefully a curved screen protector from SGP in the future to replace the front BSE if they make one. Same goes for the SGP Bumpers too. I'll be posting pics of Rearth and BSE soon. Someone should make a thread with a first post containing only user submitted pictures of accessories.

I actually didn't like the look of the atmospheric case. It's just the matter of personal preference although! Let me know about the xtremeguard when you can i heard they have orange peel effect which is why i'm undermining them.

One more point to Ringke i guess How's xtremeguard? I heard it has orange peel. Is it good enough for protection compared to others?

Has the poetic bumper arrived? How is it? Considering that, ringke or the official bumper. Would be grateful if you wrote a small review for each case! And please post pics ASAP will help me in deciding a lot! Thanks!

I got to go with diztronic, thats what I use on my galaxy nexus now. Thin,light, and goes on and off easily yet fits snug.

I'll be posting pics of the Rearth case once I get my BSE installed tonight. The poetic bumper doesn't ship till the 30th I believe. I will create another thread for accessory pics if no one else does.

Looking forward to it. Does BSE have cutouts for proximity sensor? Which is better BSE or Xtremeguard? Considering either and which is better among diztronic and rearth?

Xtreme guards are pretty good. But you can tell the quality difference with that and XO skins. XO feels much more premium and smoother. And little to no orange peel effect. So I would suggest XO over Xtreme if you don't mind paying a couple more bucks.

Wait it out if you don't like what you see.
I'm waiting for tech21's Impact Band Cases to come out for the Nexus 4. They replied to a PM on Facebook, and on their official facebook page, that cases for the Nexus 4 are coming, and check it out for yourself, those cases will be better than anything out so far; a good amount of protection from drops, and a detachable clear backplate for showing off the backs of our phones. Here's a link to their Impact Band for the iPhone 5.
I've been using the Ringke Slim as a stopgap for the time being and while it's very good for the $10 total that it cost, I've been wanting to show off the beautiful design of the phone and it's a shame to lose that with the cases out now. The best of both worlds will hopefully be here soon! If you guys agree, pester them on Facebook and their customer service so that they know we're waiting!

Here are pics of the Black Rearth case, its really thin but pretty hard. If your looking for drop protection get something else. On a scale of 1 to 10 for protection with 1 being no case and 10 being something like Otterbox, I give it a 3 almost a 4. I'll be using it for now until I get adjusted to holding this bigger phone but I can imagine myself taking it off soon.

Poetic Atmosphere or Diztronic. If you're looking for a slim hard case, I'd go Nillkin

I wanted an otterbox commuter but since that wasn't possible, I just ordered a diztronic. My wife got one for my vivid and the quality and fit our perfect and it adds a much needed grip to the phone and adequate protection without sacrificing the phones good looks.

Thanks for the pics! It's too thin i'd rather go for diztronic i need protection primarily. Is BSE adequate or should i go for XO? Also does the case cause the screen protector to peel off? I dont want them to interfere!

Yeah from the pics I would go with Diztronic. Rearth didn't cause the protector to peel but it did cause these two small creases on the bottom back BSE that are slowly going away. In the inside pic you can see two lines that go from the top edge to the bottom. That's what caused it.
Oh yeah, my BSE doesn't have a cutout for the proximity sensor but it works just fine.

Not much really, it is the same depth as the pixel add an addition inch maybe for the protective lip and the edge is about an inch for the impact protextion.

I usually prefer the TPU cases and I just got the Google Pixel XL Case from Cimo for my Pixel XL. For the price, I would say its pretty great and wonderful quality.

I need an Ultra Thin Clear TPU between 0.2-0.3mm thick. You guys seen any yet?

Spigen Ultra Hybrid vs Ringke Fusion.
Which one is the better case? Ringke is cheaper so I'm leaning towards them. I've used the Ringke Fusion for my Galaxy S6, and the Spigen Ultra Hybrid for my Nexus 5. Does anyone know which case provides a better fit for the Pixel XL?

I have the Maxboost mSnap thin case, and it's pretty good. It's incredibly snug, thin, and well aligned for all the ports and buttons.
The long to negatives would be:
- slippery, though it feels like it's just the result of a slick factory powder coating that will diminish after a week of use, increasing its grip
- buttons are hard to press due to how small the cutouts are.
I can happily live with it until a premium, ultra thin case comes around.

My Ringke Fusion shipped yesterday from amazon so it should get here next week and I'll be able to give it a try. Right now I'm using the Spigen Liquid Crystal case on my phone and it fits really well so I can only guess the hybrid should be similar. I am partial to Ringke though because I'm one of those people who like to hang phone charms off my phones and their case has a cut out for them.

I'm loving the rhino shield crash guard bumper. It doesn't even make the XL feel bigger like it did on my 6P. Fits really well and the only problem that some people might have with it is the buttons are a bit hard to press. Definitely recommend this for anyone looking for something minimalistic.

I've already tried the OtterBox commuter and the Incipio. Not liking either one of these I tried the Spigen rugged armor case. It is the best case I have tried so far. It's also cheap.

Slickwraps taking orders but arent delivering last I read.
I ordered xtremeguard full body, which ill use to protect the back. But wraps don't do too well with pocket lint in my pocket. Besides I have the blue xl, so id prefer clear.

Any branded high quality Cases for Mate 9 yet?

I don't like cheap ass $5 to $10 cases from ebay and amazon. I am looking for some branded case such as spigen, speck and tech21. Let me know if you any other good brands who are making good cases for this phone.

I got the same case for my brandnew mate 9. It fits nicely but i doubt it will offer the same protection as my last case.
On my old Galaxy Note Edge i have a Verus Thor case which is a composite of hard and soft protection layers which served my well.
Unfortunately the company has nothing to offer for Huawei so i go with the Nillkin case for the time being.

My black Nilkin case came in the mail yesterday. I highly recommend it. Good grip and feel. Can't go wrong with this one.
I have another one coming in the mail but I can't remember the brand haha.

I just got the spingen case and it comes close to the old Verus.
Not 2 seperate layers but a medium hard material which i expect to dampen any drop.
And the surface has more grip than the bare mate or the hard Nillkin case.

I got the Spigen yesterday. Really like it. Feels great in the hand and looks like it'll do the job as well.

I got it on Amazon in Spain. Maybe, it's not genuine but it feels pretty good quality.

Same problem with my Axon 7. With these non-carrier branded phones, it is tough to find a decent case.

I'm using this case, super good quality, very slim footprint. Smart details too like anti-slip sides.
Should have covered the edge of the glass though.

I've bought about 10 cases, and the only one that is grippy enough that I don't feel like I'll drop the phone when using it one-handed is just a generic plastic TPU one. I have to fit a wireless charging adaptor and some magnets behind the phone, though, so I wish there was something a little bit roomier, but still thin enough for the magnets to work (I use wireless charging car mount)

This is the belt clip I use. I don't care much for the case inself. I picked up "Rugged Armor Ulimate Experience" case which works perfectly with the belt clip. I don't like cases with kick-stands.

Appreciate it.... Looking for one I can use with the factory case though. I know years ago I purchased the OnePlus one and someone had a great fit for it that was really for another phone. Looking for something close to that.

The clip he put should work fine. The factory case and that encased case will be very close to same size. And encased belt clips are one if the best you can get. I always buy an encased belt clip for all my phones and it fits multiple different cases.

Quick update... holster definitely will not work with the sandstone case. A little too loose.

There's also Seidio or Platinum (Bedt Buy) holsters that work. Compare the holsters they have and use the one closest to the size of the oneplus 6.

Man that sucks. I may order a s9plus belt holster and see if that works. It's slightly shorter .09. And it's gonna be one of those with the top clip.instead of a slide in case.

Try using a small piece of weather foam to take up the gap.

Follow up...
Just got the supcase unicorn beetle style case on Amazon for 11$. It fits vertically in my holster from my iPhone 7 plus encased slimshield w/holster. There is a quarter inch lateral movement but it's secure that it won't fall out. Just some shimmy.

Just got the supcase unicorn beetle style case on Amazon for 11$. It fits vertically in my holster from my iPhone 7 plus encased slimshield w/holster. There is a quarter inch lateral movement but it's secure that it won't fall out. Just some shimmy.

Yeah I saw that but I don't like the "slide in" type. I prefer the clip in.

Bad news. I returned the case because of the buttons. They're too flat. I'm gonna try a rhinoshield crashguard. Hopefully it fits in there too

Thanks again for the link. Got my cases yesterday. Super rugged. Seeing as I've already busted one Whitestone screen protector for this phone (installed on Friday, chipped the protector on Sunday) I'll say they came just in time.

really suprised not to see more responses. Requested and got the link, just not had time to do it. Will this weekend. Why not get a free case to then be able to post an honest review!

Excellent Rugged Case
I took advantage of this opportunity, and have found the case to be excellent. My review follows:
This inexpensive rugged case does everything right. It is constructed with three layers of materials. The outer layer is the hard plastic back and kickstand. The next layer, made of TPU is permanently bonded without gaps to the hard backing and has a shock absorbing honeycomb pattern as can be seen in the attached picture, extra corner protection. And textured left and right outer sides to make the phone grippy. This includes a TPU door for the USB-C port and cutouts for the SPen, speaker, and mic as well as
and TPU buttons. Finally, there is a separate hard frame that goes around the Note20 and is then inserted into the case. The camera is extremely well protected from impact and the lip of the case protects the screen well from damage related to drops.
Buttons are very responsive, SPen is easier to access than with my lightweight case, and wireless charging works well.
While this won't be my daily case, if I'm doing activities with enhanced risk of drop (e.g., hiking, biking, jogging, working on the car, doing videography while standing on mixed surfaces), this is my go to case.
Given the quality and low cost, using this case as a primary or secondary case should be a no-brainer for anyone.

Yes. I got both of mine. I had to buy a Amazon prepaid card on a 3rd party site since Amazon doesn't directly take paypal

Well I got both of mine too. I love the case, its as solid as a otterbox. I'll give the 20 ultra case to my son. What a great company!
