First of all I am running the cm build from this forum (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/info-current-cyanogenmod-galaxy-s6-t3523791).
What doesnt work: microphone for calls and fingerprint
The performance was good overall but it would lag once in a while, so i changed the screen resolution to 1080p using this app
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.zuim.resolutionchanger&hl=en). For calls, I am using hangouts dialer as the microphone works flawlessly. I am using the latest Nova Launcher as it supports Android N shortcuts for certain apps. I also changed the app animation speed to 1.2x in developer settings to keep things running smoothly. Only main bug is fingerprint, which I can live with as I don't use a lockscreen. Screenshots below....
How is gaming performance?

Why did you increase animation speed to 1.2x? That makes the animations slower!
Does hangouts dialer allow you to make calls with your SIM? Can you receive/call phone calls properly and mic works ?
Also hows battery life and screen on time?
Thanks

Battery is pretty good 3-4 hours screen on time. I slowed down animations to give the system time to load content, hence make it "look" smoother. With Hangouts dialer you can directly call people without them having to install an app like viber. It is a wifi calling app with your phone number as caller id.(I use cellular data to make calls)

It's really good if you are on 1080p as processor has to push fewer pixels

Okay, I was hoping hangout dialer could be used for SIM calls as I need to be able to receive and make calls 100%. Thanks anyways

Hi all, I decided to start this thread and help devs (and HTC) to fix some bugs that I noticed on stock 3.32.401.5...
(and don't give me "why don't you root it" advice since this is my bussiness phone so that is not an option)...
This is my list that I noticed within few days of use, feel free to list yours..
1. Missed calls are no longer registered in notification bar, notification pull-down menu or LED (EDIT: there is an option for this and it was turned off so it is not a bug)
2. stock browser sometimes opens random page from history (instead home)
3. when entering system settings (for random option), phone goes to lockscreen instead pressed option (happens randomly)
3. battery life seems to be better on Gingerbread than ICS (this is my subjective opinion, please confirm)
4. video and picture quality seems to be better on Gingerbread than on ICS (although I like new Scenes options )
5. People app links contacts with Facebook by default
6. HTC sense app is approved by Facebook without promting user
7. Although all contacts (in People app) are delinked with Facebook, some contacts in messaging app (SMS) are still linked (very annoying, now i have two different names for same person, one in messaging app and other in People app)
8. searching through contacts displays contacts from Facebook and people app (although it is not linked with FB, FB sync is off - HTC, I DON'T WANT MY PHONE TO BE RAPED BY FB, THERE IS AN APP FOR THAT)
9. Power saver options are missing
10. GPS and WiFi switch are gone from quick settings (in notification pull-down menu)...
11. UI design elements are not consistent (mixture of sense and vanilla ICS)
That it for now (if I missing an option, and mixed it for a bug, please tell me )...
Overall ICS is MUCH better than GB (especially for disable app options, which gave me extra 100mb of free RAM), just needs to be polished a bit...
Edit: it seems that i managed to get rid of fb contacts by removing fb account and signing in again and clicking dont sync (although i did choose not to sync before, but that didnt work first time)
1080p landscape playback = lower framerate than gb
Wysłane z mojego HTC Sensation za pomocą Tapatalk
SMS UI Flick
when open sms viewer on any people, window fast flick every time when page want open, it on stock rom and custom roms
example: click sms icon -> click on any people -. you get very fast open = flick/
need change open animation or remove open animation
Others bugs
Hi,
I've found a bugs :
- Can't set a custom wallpaper in lockscreen
- Random sound issue : only music app, call sound, ringtones and notifications work. Must be restarted to solve this issue for a moment...
- Random vibrates (ghost vibrations) in my pocket
- Exchange mails : The parameter of the message size and number of message will default back after a moment ....
- The weather widgets don't refresh after unlock...
- Sense launcher not locked in memory
- Browser opening the last page all the time...
(sorry for my bad english...)

I think its just you, most users are getting far better battery life out if ICS than GB
I used to only get 18 hours on GB but now on ICS I can go for up to 28 hours (both on medium usage)

Ok, i'll investigate...i installed current widget and set it to log...
Mobile and wireless connections are turning on without user input.
Data connection is being established even if it was explicitly forbidden during initial setup. Hard reset, even wipe does nothing. I've seen this on multiple vanilla devices (S-ON, no root, never tampered with).
If you don't have good data plan or if you are using prepaid cards, DO NOT upgrade to ICS.

If that had worked, would I've bothered to ask? Obviously not. Data connection turns on spontaneously, bypassing any and all settings. Those phones had mobile connections turned off by default.
Thanks for the tip about that fix though, I will look into that.
Edit: If anyone else has the problem, here is the supposed fix.

Maybe I should have been a bit clearer. By turn it off I meant in every boot go to settings and turn it off. Annoying yes but your suggestion of "Don't upgrade to ICS is not on decent data plan" was and is a bit extreme.
There are other fixes as well like using juice defender to manage mobile data (I'm sure there are others too but I use JD)

I already had it off and keep turning it off, that is the crux of the issue. Whatever HTC messed up, it completely rendered mobile data connection control useless. I have seen the system-wide use data toggle button turn itself on just after I disabled it. As I understand it, that shouldn't be possible. It's as if some process is overriding user settings at whim.
And that keeps happening, even with juice defender.
I am hoping that this will make situation a bit clearer.
my SD card is being unmount very often!
And it seems that my battery drain was caused by 3rd party apps (astro being n1, folowed by some useless apps)...
17hrs and 45 % battery to go (moderate usage)
Lost SMS messages
After u/g I have lost all my SMS messages from history - ok, not all as a single thread from my daughter shows up with perhaps 50 messages.
I have restored from previous backup and it shows successful restore of 600+ messages, but I can't see them - also the folder option has disappeared?

[Q] Dialer App. How to disable "frequently dialed" contacts in Speed Dial section?
Hey guys, I love my Nexus 5. It's blazing fast and does everything I need but I have one small problem with it.
In the latest update (4.4.4) Google updated the Dialer App. The UI is amazing but there's a thing about the app that annoys me a lot.
I have set 5 of my closest friends which I call a lot on Speed Dial/Favourites.
However, every time I call anyone else in my contacts they automatically get added to the same Speed Dial menu
and I have to manually clear those by clicking "clear frequents" or removing them one by one.
Is there a way to disable this annoying feature? Thanks.

This is still a problem on Lollipop. It also automatically adds incoming calls to the speed dial. Has anyone figured out how to disable this?
This is not a problem, this is feature. Favourites will allways stay at the top of the list.

This isn't about his favourites staying at the top. Your favourites are the ones that you yourself put a star in. What's he talking about is the same issue myself and a lot of other people are having. You have your starred contacts, bit the nexus 5 automatically keeps adding frequently called numbers to our speed dial screen. I myself, do NOT want that happening. So I end up having to do what he does and manually deleting them which is REALLY annoying. I only want people I PUT in my speed dial/favourites list showing up there. I do NOT want me phone adding them itself.
any resolution for this? this is occurring on my n6 as well. agree that it is an annoying "feature." I mean there's even a "recents" tab in the dialer app so all these recent calls should just stay there and not add themselves onto our speed dial screens!
Any answer to Disable speed dissing as it is a problem
Even a blocked number is shown up in this tab frequently. Really annoying.
Just install another phone dialer app. Had the same problem, very annoying, poor design also. True Phone Dialer & Contacts is the winner for me, looks and works like a charm.
This feature only works for normal calls. Can I enable this for calls from WhatsApp etc? I have root

If the app doesn't have the ability built in, it might be difficult. The only thing i could think of is if you used a process app like Tasker, you might be able to set permissions to mute calls. Also the Edge Sense Plus app that was ported for our phones might be of some use, you can set the active edge to do specific things with apps. I imagine this feature is limited however. Tasker i think would be your best bet as you can do specific app functions in cooperation with specific OS functions, like muting notifications....etc. Here is the port for active edge, if it doesn't work for what you want, it is a cool feature overall. I have mine to simply enable flashlight.

Hi...
I finally got the phone 3 days ago, but noticed that when i get incoming calls i can't use the phone untill the call ends or untill i answer it, what stopping me from playing / writing messages of even use Facebook app untill: 1. I answer the call. 2. I ignore the call, and wait for the other person to hang up.
I had other phones that i could just press the "Home" button and continue with my things.
Is there any solution for that?

But the problem is that i think i have to root the phone, because even after installing the latest version and allowing permissions to the Dialer app i still get the calls from the default HTC original dialer.. Im using the last version (17)

you need to go into app settings and make google dialer the default phone app
Iv'e put the dialer as default everywhere also in the app category, it still only shows the calling icon on top of the screen, also won't show any contacts names when incoming calls..
Did you got this to work in your phone perfectly?
Aren't there any other apps that can be used instead?

Yes it works perfectly.
Set as default, enable all permissions for it and it will work fine. Plenty of us are using it without any issue. What do you mean by "only shows calling icon on top of the screen". That sounds like the google dialer which is what it is supposed to do and not take up the entire screen.
I don't know, it just wont work properly on my device, i did all what you said above and restarted the device and still.. i only get the icon on the notification bar at the top of the screen when call enters.
I gave up and downloaded "Drupe" - wonderfull app really does the job well and also looks great (cost me about 4$ - worth it), better than the default HTC's app.
Thanks for the help!
You have to go into setting>application>Phone>application>Phone application, select the app you installed, then you may see the different calling screen when you call someone / receive a call. (not a football fan so installed normal v17)
[APP] Ring Master - vibrate first, gradually ring for phone calls, WhatsApp & more
Play Store Link
About a month back I happened to read this article on XDA about Pixel's new feature that makes the phone vibrate first and then ring gradually. I have seen this gradual ring on some phones but never with "vibrate first". In about 3 weeks I managed to come up with Ring Master that will bring this feature to all other Android devices, with option to customise vibrate duration, ringer duration and volume percentage as well.
I was about to release it when I wondered if I could extend it to other voice calling apps as well besides regular phone. Unlike phone calls, Android OS doesn't provide any API for a developer to detect when an incoming call comes on a messenger app like WhatsApp or Duo. I had to find a workaround for this and I am happy to say I have a nearly perfect working system now. This means perhaps for the first time you can now have gradually increasing ringtone for your WhatsApp and other voice calls as well. You can select which all apps you want to enable it and Ring Master will ignore if a call comes in any other app.
One concern about these ringer apps is how it will behave when your phone is in silent mode. Rest assured, if your phone is in Silent/Vibrate or Do Not Disturb mode, Ring Master won't do anything at all. Similarly, it only changes your ringer volume when it has to. Your media, notification, alarm volumes are left untouched.
The app as such is free if you use it in its default configuration. You can even test the settings before applying. But in order to apply the changed settings, you need to upgrade to Pro version that costs just $0.99.
Please test out the app and let me know your thoughts. As always, in case you encounter any issue, please write to [email protected] before leaving a review on Play Store.

I haven't used promo codes yet. I think there are some restrictions from Google regarding the number of times codes can be generated in a month and also need to have some additional code in-app to check for promo code based purchases.

Hi!
It's a great idea to implement this app.
I want to test it some days, in order to try it and check it if I get use to it, but as I only have the default options, the max volume it gets is 30% (to low for me) and I can't use it, because I could miss phone calls.
There is a chance to change the max volume in order to try the app? If not, don't worry. And seriously, good app.
Thanks in advance!

In the Settings screen you can click the Test button to see if vibration and ringer works to your needs. But yes, you cannot apply the setting in free version.
I would request you to upgrade to full version and try it out with actual phone call. And no need to worry about refund window. Any time you feel like the app isn't satisfactory, please feel free to write to [email protected] with your order number. I will issue a full refund.
Nevermind...
Sorry!
