Which is the best battery friendly Naugat rom for OnePlus One? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want battery life for more hours. Please suggest me if any.

Hi, i'm on Nitrogen OS, great ROM with sultan's camera blobs + lightning kernel v52 by default. Very good battery life (I've only undervolted by 50mV), considering also that i've streamed more than 1.30 hours of music from spotify using LTE (listened through bluetooth earphones and car bluetooth).

So, @vickyelugu and @Nobinzia, after your experiencie: what rom would you recommend? I also have a 10% battery drain from CM13 (stock) and I also have to say that I've replaced my battery once because the original one died a month before 2 years of usage.
TIA

Bad battery life on AOSP ROMs

I can leave my phone next to my bed without touching it and lose 10% battery. On HyperNonSense i can not lose a single percent. This happens on CM9 and AOKP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jordan
Run it down fully a couple of times, see if it helps.
Did this happen soon after you flashed the ROM?
If yes, this is mostly due to the battery needing calibration (Fully charge your battery, boot the phone in recovery, unplug phone, erase battery stats, discharge your phone completely then charge it up again to 100%, and after that it should be better, and after one or two more cycles it should be even better).
Otherwise, it is probably your kernel forcing the CPU to run at max clock all the time, so check, if you use SetCPU or another app like this, if it is not set on max clock, or try flashing a new kernel, but even then a battery calibration always helps.
Do you leave the screen on the highest setting? Also, did you overclock it?
maybe you should go into recovery with a 100% charge and bwipe battery stats, because I'm using hyper sensation and my battery life is amazing compared to when I had the stock t mobile rom
I have been using ViperROM for almost a year and my Anker 1900mAh battery performs excellently. It gives me day and a half on moderate use while at least 24 hours on heavy use (keep wifi on all the time). But I do like to try AOSP roms and whenever I have flashed an aosp rom, battery life has always disappointed me. It hardly gives me 14 to 15 hours on slight use.
Is there a way to get at least a day on moderate use on aosp rom? I'm currently using android1234567's CM11 with sultan r52 kernel and i would love to use it for few months.
Does anyone else Any idea?
My settings:
Screen Brightness: Auto
CPU Max: 1512Mhz
I am using ViperS 5.0 and i must say it gives me better battery life that AOSP ROM's.

How many days do you use the ROM to arrive at these conclusions.
Only after the first full discharge (~ 10%) turned off the device and charge it Off.
then give us a report

Yeahh i'm totally right with you, ViperS do not need to calibrate battery... I think AOSP NEED IT ONCE

I have benn using android1234567's CM11 with r52 kernel for almost a week now. I have recharged it to 100% after a full dicharge twice. Still the same results. Something is consuming the battery even when the screen is off.
You might want to try a few things such as :
- set brightness to a fixed and low value
- inactivate WiFi search even if WiFi if off (advanced parameters)
- use wavelocks detectors to identify draining apps or process (localisation and Facebook app are two good candidates)

AFAIK AOSP based ROMs will always perform worse than Sense based ROMs due to the HTC battery management being closed source. Hyper-nonsense still has HTC files under the hood hence why the battery lasts longer. When using CM10.1 my battery would last me about 10 to 13 hours without me hardly touching the phone, with Hyper-nonsense or De-sensed elegencia it would easily last over 24 hours. On Viper 5.0.0 I got 1 day 15 hours 13m and 24s with 15% charge left out of the bad by once.
I can't explain it, but , with Kernel ION 50->52.5 All latest KitKat ROMS Builds seems to act good
now i got this
Same with me.
Had terrible battery life with Sultan's KitKat. Try Albino's , battery's far better...

That's quite difficult to say since we all know viper is the battery killer.I have a 2years old sensation. I used viper for more than 6 months and I was like "damn! throw this off." Now i'm using AOSP and It's just what i was looking for. ::victory:
are you serious? it gives atleast 30 minutes screen on time and a lot better on standby. and customisations are endless.
So many mods to apply. Nothing can be better on my senny than AOSP!

besides stock EUI rom, AOKP MM has the best battery life and stability. only downside is bluetooth audio does not work. im testing out MIUI 8 but battery does not seem that good.

My Le1S displays the same erratic battery behaviour...It all started after the 19s update...Don't know whether it was a coincidence and if I have a software or hardware issue...Battery charged to 100% - would then drop to 40% within a few hours - then jump to 20% in another 1 hour - and then would start discharging at the rate of 1% every second and finally shut down...I tried every battery calibration method mentioned on this forum; did a factory reset numerous times; nothing helped...
For long, I've been thinking of downgrading to EUI 14s using one of the links in the Leeco forum...Am even thinking of flashing the 23s chinese version another link...
This was a beautiful when I had bought it...Not sure why things took such a downturn that now it has become a nightmare...I literally have to keep it connected to a charger most of the time...Pls let me know if you find a solution for this issue and if a battery change helps you...If nothing works, I am planning to move to the Redmi Note 4 soon...
The issues come from the source used i believe. Every nougat rom has battery drain. Every non-EUI based marshmallow rom has bt audio issue. Don't know issues with lollipop ones. EUI roms i have used all have this notifications issue, sometimes phone wont receive any even if every battery saving feature is disabled.
Best marshmallow roms for those who don't care about Bluetooth audio, AOKP and AICP. I would gladly go back to EUI, even miui or flyme, without those notifications and Bluetooth issues.
Use the CM 13 ROM (either LOS 13 from the xda forum or the cm 13 by bule from bbs.ydss.cn) which gives the best standby time even with all apps running in the night the battery drain is about 1 to 3% all night. I use the eui 26s rom which battery backup is also good I have no issue like you mentioned.

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Xiaomi Mi 5s before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
With LOS you can get 6-7 SOT, and I consider that very good.
On average I get 5 hour sot. I would give 3/5 for battery.
It's indeed about average for its class. But the quick-charging makes up a for a hell lot.
9 hours so far. Not bad I'd say. I'm using the official AICP ROM, battery set to efficiency, not rooted.

The fingerprint scanner is working fine on aicp bro?
With Miui 9? I can't do better than 3h 30m.
I tried beta, stable, RR. Situation is always the same.
With GSam when i call, sot is increase, but in Miui settings sot are less, why?
(sorry, if you don't understand, i try to write better)
MIUI 9.3 by xiaomi.eu 8.2.1 I get usually 6-7 hours SoT (mixed LTE and WiFi, auto brightness), I think it's pretty good

I am using the same rom. Unfortunately, I only get like 2-3 hours of SoT. Do you do a system reset every time you flash? Cause I've been upgrading the phone for a while now. Seems battery life gets worse and worse.

I did a clean flash 3 weeks ago, first flashed China Dev Fastboot, flashed TWRP, then xiaomi eu, wipe everthing without wiping system partition. After this, every update i clean dalvik and cache, that's all. Maybe you need to do similar procedure in your phone or your battery needs replacement, I reccomend Losoncoer's one, my mum is using their battery in Mi5.
Hello to everyone and i'm sorry for necroposting,
I have a problem with my MI 5s, i took with my rom (MIUI Global 8.4.19) and stock kernel only 2 hours of SoT, do you have some suggest for me for have better performance(no problem to change ROM or Kernel)? (when i bought this phone i had 6/7 hours of SoT) , i have already changed my battery with an original one 2 weeks ago.
Thanks.
Install AEX with the latest China beta firmware, Magisk and the app ForceDoze.
Thanks for reply, but I can't install china stable because in that rom there isn't my language (Italian), any other suggest? Those apps work with global too?

Hi,
After one year of usage my Mi5s gets around 3 hours of SoT. Doesn't matter which ROM I am using (RR, Atomic, Viper, LoS, XiaomiEu) plus latest firmware. I think the battery may be depleted. If this is the case this is kind of sad.
Those of you that are getting more than 5h of SoT: How old is your phone?
Does anyone have any recommendation for a new battery from aliexpress?
Thanks

You can test your battery and find out your real battery capacity with AccuBattery. (Get the free version from Google Play.)
I have 89% capacity (~2850Mah) and I have my phone since September 2017.
On AEX 5.5 rom, I get about 4.5 hours of screen on time.
1 year and a few months later. Now Replaced the Battery.
1 year and a few months later. Now I just replaced the Battery. I replaced it with a new one because battery is depleted Accubattery estimation is 1,880mah from 3,100mah. I get 2hrs-3hrs 30min of Screen on Time with the old battery. I will update this reply once I get what my battery SoT is with the new one. I am using LineageOS nightly(latest).

Have a look at battery thread in accessories.

s7 edge battery in s6.

hello.
how to "activate" s7e battery in s6 on custom rom (nexus os 9).
I changed the s6 battery to the s7e battery and I have the same time of work on one charge, max 2.5h SOT and 12h standby.
accu battery shown max capacity 1900mAh (like old one battery) of 3600mAh
First of all make sure your battery is original.
Then you will need a Kernel that provides S7 Edge battery funcionality. You can reffer to this site: https://duckyb.github.io/BatteryMod/links.html
There are methods listed to properly calibrate your new battery.
I've also made this modification, but I'm running 7.0 S8 Stock Port with Maritos V14 Kernel and it works fantastic. I get around 5-6h SOT with movies and other stuff.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

I believe that is just a standard lipo charge protection circuit that prevents the battery from going below minimum or over max. The s6 and s7edge batteries should have a similar circuit. I can't see clearly in your image but one of the chips should say DW01.
I have made this change. You don't need to do anything just let the phone run through a couple charge and discharge cycles and it adjust to the bigger battery. If you have not noticed any change I would simply say you probably got a fake battery of lower mAh rating. I noticed almost immediately. End of day 2 I had like 75% battery. The S7 edge battery is fatter though but cause I use a case the small gap between the back glass cover is not visible. If I were to do the mod again I would bond 2 or 3 pieces of paper together with resin. Let it dry and draw a perfect outline on them, then cut that out with scissors and use it as a spacer.

hello,
I made the battery mod but after days of calibration, I'm facing a strange issue, my battery dies after being at 0% for 1 hour and the phone automatically shutdown.
But the phone still has battery life, I can leave it on android revovery menu for almost 4 hours, until it shutdown it seems that android doesn't seem to recognize the extra battery capacity.
What can I do ? Is there any patch that can improve the battery recognition ? I don't want to root.
My phone is unroot, stock rom.

Don't know why you don't want root. Here's my steps for G920F:
1. Install TWRP as recovery system
2. Install Ultimate Nougat ROM (with Magisk included so after this your phone get rooted)
3. install Martitos Kernel for battery
4. Install Magisk Apps for Root because Martitos might remove magisk.
Battery life of Samsung S6 G920F with S7 Battery is great now!
Can I install other custom roms out there? And just let the battery calibrate itself? My phone constantly gets hot with just browsing the internet.
I'm looking for android go custom rom.. Big battery + rom for weak phones might = days of battery life
