Hello everyone!
Anyone knows if there is an app for the Gear S3 to control the Samsung TV? Such as volume, mute, channels, Turn on/off...
I believe it is very important to get one from Samsung if there isn't..

Unfortunately, no. Samsung does have one for the phone itself called Samsung Smart View but currently only Direct TV has an app for the Gear.
Sure would be better to have a remote for the TV on the Gear, anyway you can use a workaround.
Install Anymote on your smartphone, then install Tasker and create one or more tasks that using Anymote as plugin. Then install Tasks2 on the Gear to launch these tasks.
I created a simple task that stops playing on my Nexus Player, then turns off the TV.
Also created tasks for muting TV and to set volume up/down.
Moreover I am testing Autonotification plugin for Tasker, which let to interact with the notifications shown on the Gear.

I think it's time we had a free one of these. This is a simple extension that sends generic audio control events to the phone.
Post here with any problems or feature requests. I will not be adding code to control specific apps.
it's work on poweramp
cool app :good::good::good::good::good:
For poweramp I really recommend the dedicated app ... is not that expensive and the results are great.

Something odd (it was said also in play store) with my note, n8000, Android 4.1.2. When pressing the icon "play", two differend players start: spotify and the default music player. I cannot figure how to fix this.

You need to find settings in your default player or in spotify to disable bluetooth controls. If neither player has this setting then I'm afraid you're out of luck. You could uninstall one of them. The app works generically like a BT headset that has built in controls.
Actually it starts three music apps (default, n7 and spotify =) and finally causing sw2 app to crash... don't find how to change bt controlling for those apps or is it even possible. otherwise seems to work faster and better than other controllers.

Yeah thanks for a cool media controller. Maybe in future updates the User can dictate which media application to be used. I see my soundcloud, Pandora, and Native Music App battling it out, lol. I fight for the User! Thanks again for the app.
Great app, lets me control the music from the shower :good:
Added premium features (in-app purchase):
-Widgets for all control functions
-Color customization
-Vibration on click
"Turn on the radio"?
Hi,
first: i really dig your app and the widgets. However i have run into the same problem as the others: all players open. Is there really no workaround? I haven't found any other music control widgets for sw2 + yours are the most straight-forward.
I have noticed however, that one button works correctly: the pause button. My observations from the button-mashing:
Play: opens all players
pause: pauses or unpauses the *active* player
next/previous song: starts all players, songs are changed on all players. "Turn on the radio." popup appears.
Samsung Note 2 + Sony SW2.
Cheers and thanks anyway
Hi I would like to know whether there are any of the smart watch compatible with nexus devices out there that I can freely choose music on my device via the smart watch(not just the previous/next track, play, pause.). Personally I would like to buy the Samsung gear fit but I don't know if it can do the thing I mention above. Thanks
is there a way to keep music app open?
Closest is swipe down and click the music icon or add a widget
But after few minutes i have to do again because app closes
Bump.
I'm also wondering this.
Yeah is a repeat Task only possible is find a music player watch face

i am alive can help.
the screen timeout is what kills the music app, kill the timeout and the app stays active.

you can also combine watchmaker and tasker to create a custom watchface with built in media controls.

How can I use Tasker to make a watchface with music controls?
watchmaker lets you make your own watchfaces with buttons that can trigger tasker tasks.
in tasker you can create tasks that simulate media buttons.
and then you can send the %MTRACK variable from tasker to watchmaker if you want to be able to show the currently playing track.
What do I put in the right hand side of the variable?
Maybe I should start another thread asking my Tasker questions since I'm Clueless when it comes to Tasker.
Hi all . . . I'm reviving this to see if anyone has any other ideas. I don't want to keep my watch face lit up non-stop to control audio because that'd drain battery like crazy, so the "I am alive" trick is out. I don't really want to go for a media controller watchface, as the ones I like are already pretty information-dense, and I don't want to lose the features I like in favor of audio controls.
This is probably the feature I miss most since switching from my Pebble. It seems bonkers to me that there's no way to do this. Maybe with a 3rd party audio controls app? To be clear, I want to control audio playing from my phone, not from my watch . . .
You can link music app to double press on home button.
It is not ideal but if you are not using double press for something else maybe it can help you.
..... or made a Music Shortcut on a face
Boy, this is also annoying me. You have to scroll back or take an extra step which is frustrating as hell when you want to just change tracks. Will see if there's a workaround and get back.
I current use a Sony Smartwatch 3 running Android Wear connected to an HTC10.
Is there a Phone Weaver/Macrodroid equivalent app for the Gear 2 or 3. Using PhoneWeaver or Macrodroid, I can use my watch to send commands to my phone to switch Wi-fi/Bluetooth/Airplane Mode on and off on the phone.
I use the HTC Music app to play music files stored on the phone. The watch displays some basic controls so I can pause/play skip tracks using the watch. Could I do this with the Gear

You can control your music with the gear using the music app widget on the watch. It works with many music apps to play pause and skip. Also there is a app that can control bass function of your phones quick toggle in the app store. Forgot the name of it but i know there's one there
Hi folks
I used to have the Galaxy Watch and I've upgraded to the Galaxy Watch 4 and it's quite disappointing that Bixby can't play songs from Spotify even for premium subscribers and even when it is paired to my Samsung phone. I've so far sideloaded and used the modified Spotify apk which allows me to search and stream but it also doesn't work it Bixby. I have even sideloaded Google Asistant but after it says it will play the song it always says there was a problem as it doesn't seem to work with native watch or phone apps. Is there any workaround for this function either in Spotify or any other music streaming service such as YouTube Music? If not is anyone currently working on it?
Thanks all
Yeah the Android ecosystem is so broken. I can't imagine apple releasing a watch without such basic functions.
Surely someone will find a way to make galaxy watch 4 bixby work with Spotify
Ok
