Hello.
Quite a few days ago I tried integrating update system apps into rom with Titanium Backup but those apps disappear:
-google play store
-android system webview
-system update
-smart suite
-talkback
I tried restoring a backup of them with titanium backup, but when I clicked to restore it just didn't do anything (it staied at 0% for ever).
At that point the phone was not connected to my google account anymore and I couldn't even add it going to Settings/Account.
Tried rebooting phone but nothing changed.
So I downloaded Google Play Store 7.2.13.J-all [0] [PR] 138561921 apk file and also Android System Webview (55.0.2883.91 (288309100) arm) apk file and moved them into system/app.
With them I could connect my phone to my google account, but opening the play store I couldn't update my apps or download a new one (play store crashed everytime I tried and this is what I've found in the log: java.lang.SecurityException: Invalid value for is_public_api: null).
I've had a factory reset but I'm still facing the same issue.
I've tried Force stopping Play Store and Clearing data and done the same for Google Service Framework and Download Manager and installed a new version of Google Play Store (7.3.07.K-all [0] [PR] 139935798) but nothing changed.
So this is what I have now (on android 5.0.2, rooted, stock rom):
Android System Webview 55.0.2883.91
Google Play Service 9.6.83 (238-133155058)
Google Play Store 7.3.07.K-all [0] [PR] 139935798
Google Service Framework 5.0.1-1602158
One strange thing I've found is that on Settings/Apps/All I found two Android System Webview:
-one version 37 (eng.android-bld-arm64) (with a world icon)
-and the one 55.0.2883.91 (288309100) arm I've downloaded (with a gear icon)
Is it correct having them both?
By the way, I've tried disactivating that version 37 (eng.android-bld-arm64) (with a world icon) but nothing changes.
How can I solve it? If the way is reflashing the gapps package via recovery, can someone give it to me or tell me where I can find it?
Thanks!
Found this https://www.xda-developers.com/download-google-apps-gapps/ and flashed gapps got from there and play store seems to work properly now.

First, some quick details about my setup.

Google Play Store: 3.8.17

When trying to run the Google Play Store, I get an "Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped." error message.
I can temporarily fix this by going to Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Store -> *Clear data*, *Force stop*, *Reboot Phone*, at which point the Google Play store starts fine, with two updates (Android Terminal Emulator / Gmail)
If I try to update either of the apps, or install any new app (Either from Phone market place, or PC market place), I get the "Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped." error, and am back to Step 1 (With Google Play Store not opening at all)
Any ideas?
I am able to install apps via manually browsing to the actual APK using the Browser, or using ES File Explorer (Which I uploaded to my DropBox, and installed VIA Browser) and navigating to my PC's local share, but having to manually find every APK without going to the Google Play Store is rather a hassle

Try reflashing the rom and gaaps, also make sure you are flashing jelly bean gaaps.
Reflash the rom then reboot system then again go into recovery and flash gaaps.
Do a full wipe i.e wipe system, data ,cache, dalvik cache.

is your playstore a system app or user app? playstore sometimes misbehaves as a user app. You can move the playstore apk to /system/app, rename it as Vending.apk and give 644 permissions. THen reboot your phone. Check if this works.

Hello,
Just upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and now in the Google Play Store I get the following error when it trys to update any of the google apps such as Chrome:
Update for "Chrome" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:AEC:0])
I have used google and gone thread to thread for solutions but NONE have worked.
I have tried the following:
a) Factory reset
b) Factory reset with wipe and format of all partitions
c) Removing my google account and re-adding it.
d) Clearing cache/data and updates from google play store and google framework, then removing google account, rebooting, re-adding google account.
All of the above lead me back to the same exact issue RPC:AEC:0
I must mention I am not rooted and I have not unlocked my bootloader.
Please help!
What version of the Play Store do you have installed? (Play Store -> settings -> build version)
Latest is 3.9.16, you can download it here

Try this one. It's a small variation on what you already tried. Notice the power off for 2 mins, instead of reboot. (btw they = Google support)

There is not much about your exact device on xda, but I found this solution for a simialr issue: [SOLVED] install failed shared user incompatible.
Maybe it works for you too.
Basically I would try to flash latest GApps for your firmware (Android) version in custom recovery ... like described here: [newest]Google Play Service for all custom rom by fifa2151.
Gapps can be found here:
[GAPPS] The Gapps Central - Consolidated Gapps [Updated 21-04-2015]
[GAPPS][2015-04-04] Google Apps Minimal Edition for Android 5.0.x & 5.1
[GAPPS][5.1/5.0/4.4] Official Slim GApps & Custom GApps
[Gapps]Download PA Gapps Mirror! [5.1.x/5.0.x/4.4.x] [Lollipop/Kitkat]
Good luck !

Hi all,
I updated my OPO to CM12 and the google play services can't be updated leading to the notorius battery drain plus several other issues.
It's all stock, less than 1 month old unit, what can I do?
The previous version, CM11 was great, the current YNG1TAS17L is creating only problems.
Please help.

Head into settings > apps > google play services > clear data.
After that head down to apkmirror.com and download Google Play Services and manually update the app.
This should fix the systemupdate service bug on the older version of Google Play Services

I have gone back to previous version.
Try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psvtQB7NizI. I have had to use it several times and still have the trouble. Best case is factory wipe and reload from Google app.

Thanks for your message!
I can't access google play app crashes and I can't upgrade the app via the google play webpage.
I downloaded the latest version of the google play services (it appears to be the same version I already have installed) but I can't clear the data of that app (there is no clear data button just clear cache).
In order to install the apk, all I have to do is select it with a file explorer app (provided I have set the option of allowing the install of non google play apps?
Thanks,
Marc

If Google Play FC, head into settings > apps > Google Play > click clear data and force close
To clear data of Google Play Services, head into settings > apps > Google Play Services > (I think is) manage storage and it'll bring you into Google Play Services app, scroll to the bottom and click clear data. After that, force stop and uninstall any updates you may have for the app.
To manually update/install an app, use a file manager and head into the directory where you downloaded the app and just click on it and package installer will do the job it needs to do
hi all,
**EDIT** 20/10/15
So I wiped my phone again - cache and system. Flashed "cm-12-20150901-SNAPSHOT-YNG4NAO253-bacon" and "gapps-lp-20141212-signed" annnnnd it all works!
I still don't understand the cause of any of my troubles and I haven't tried doing this with CM 12.1 because stagefright is still an issue?
I cannot get Google Play services to function properly on my OnePlus one- have tried Factory resets, installing from a backup, Stock, CWM and TWRP recoveries. installing from apk hosting sites. clearing cache and all data in settings>apps>google blah blah, hoping someone can help me.
- several months ago i flashed TWRP as my new recovery and then flashed SuperSU and I have enjoyed this set up ever since as I love using the app AllStream which requires root access.
- after putting off updating my phone since doing this, I finally decided to update the other day...
- I downloaded the CM12.1 .zip , moved it onto my phone, booted it into recovery and flashed the bastard (figured everything was going smoothly at this point).
- When my phone booted up I figured I would download the Google Play store from the built in browser, and then download all my apps through that, BUT when I logged into my google account the play store said all my apps were already installed???
I downloaded some apps from some apk hosting websites and installed them (allstream, facebook, snapchat and a couple others) they all worked fine.
When I downloaded Google Play services Version: 8.2.99 (8299240) for Android 5.0+ (Lollipop, API 21) from apkmirror.com it installed and then gave me the error "unfortunately google play services has stopped"
every 3 seconds or so.
I have tried flashing Stock, CWM, Philz and TWRP recoveries, doing a factory reset and then flashing the CM12.1.zip. get the error in all cases.
I have tried clearing cache and all app data in phone settings>apps>google PS>clear cache/delete data
I have not had Privacy Guard running ever (some forums have suggested this can cause issues).
**EDIT** 19/10/15
I've realized since posting that I have had Privacy Guard running (i had thought it was a separate app).
I have since experimented with different settings within Privacy guard such as turning the "wake up" and "keep awake" options on or off - no success
No idea what to do now, have I done something obvious? What else can I try? What other information should I provide to help diagnosis?
Hi,
I made a mistake I was tired. I wanted to uninstall google play services ( only the update to downgrade) but like an idiot I deleted the app instead of the update with titanium backup.
I tried to install a new clean APK with correct dpi etc... but I have "google play services has stopped working" all the time. all apps who need playservice are not working like google maps. a lot of apps who required location mostly.
I can acces to the playstore but only with a secondary account. main account is not working anymore.
Do I need to install play services differently? Or I'm good to flash a clean firmware with odin?
Thanks.
