Hopefully this will work fine to root your device too.

I have updated my canvas xpress 2 to android 5.1. Now I want to root it but i have tried kingroot for both pc and android but it shows no root strategy for this device...

Not helpful... It was for KitKat firmware
Download Kingroot from Google.. Install it. And root your phone with this app. You can unroot your phone after rooting.
