Need some help ; new owner

I had a LG G3 but it broke down. I got a Droid Ultra from a friend and i got surprised! First time I have a Motorola phone. I thought I was getting a crappy phone but It runs perfectly fine.
I want to root and install a custom recovery so that i could flash a Lollipop ROM. I've been reading some threads but I'm quite confused about what I should do first. I want to be able to run a Rooted Lollipop ROM on it. I've read some threads about rooting for the build SU6-7 but mine has SU6-7.2.
If any of you could please tell me what I should do first, I'd be more than grateful.
The phone is unrooted (checked with Root Checker).
Android version: 4.4.4 build SU6-7.2
System version 24.13.2.obake_verizon.Verizon.en.US

Okay, so here's the deal:
You can root (to some degree) using CrashXXL's method found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-ultra/general/droid-mini-maxx-ultra-root-pogress-100-t3071609
or his other method found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-ultra/general/crashx-t3220408
Keep in mind though that neither of these root methods disables write protection so you will not be able to flash a custom recovery or install a custom rom.
At the moment there is no full true root/bootloader unlock for the Droid Maxx/Ultra/Mini on 4.4.4 su6/su6-7.2

Your welcome. And sad to say but there is no way to get Lollipop on your phone with a locked bootloader.

Unroot boost LG style??

So I used a 5.1 root method on this forum but can seem to undo it. I was waiting on updating to 6.0 but it seems I won't be able to unless I remove the root. Im stuck .
Did you root it manually yourself or just flash the rooted system img from 6th_Hokage? If you flashed the rooted system image, you should be able to flash the stock system img right back to the device and be 'stock' once more but I could be wrong on that.
If you manually rooted it with some other method I can't say for sure about an unroot - I just got one of these Boost Stylos yesterday so my experience with this model is limited. I had the MetroPCS model a few weeks ago and was able to do a bit more with that one I suppose.

Which version are you running ZV4 or ZV5?
Both of my unbrick guides work to unroot the device...you just have to be sure your flashing the right one
ZV4

LG G Stylo [MS631] (Metro PCS variant) Questions

Ok so I am cotemplating rooting my lg g stylo and from what I can tell it is obviously possible, however there are some concerns that I have found in the guides for rooting that I am unsure about.
1. To root I will use this method is that OK for my variant and are the drivers compatible for my phone? http://androidcreations.weebly.com/lg-g-stylo.html
2. When installing TWRP as specified by Gametheory's website he lists two TWRP recoveries version 10i and 10j which should I use? http://androidcreations.weebly.com/lg-g-stylo-twrp.html
3. When it comes to installing xposed I understand the game has changed from jellybean and we need to flash a zip on top of using the apk will using this method work or do I have to go through a special process like the boost lg g stylo
4. Has anybody actually rooted and gotten xposed running on this variant? Because I have been looking around and I can't seem to find anyone who explicitly states that.
5. I have heard that the T- Mobile variant will be getting marshmallow I was looking arund and found this thread discussing the subject matter my question is will rooting not allow me to recieve the update if it becomes available in the future?
Hopefully someone can answer my questions thanks in advance if you take the time to read this thread.
1. Yes that works.
2. You can find out whether your device shipped with 10i or 10j and flash the correct recovery or you do trial and error, if the 10i gives you a half screen and is unresponsive then you have a 10j stylo and use the 10j recovery.
3. You don't have a boost stylo why would you use the boost procedure? Xposed on the metro stylo is as easy as flashing the arm-sdk22 zip from the xposed for lollipop thread and installing the xposed installer apk. You could also flash Katana rom from GameTheory which already comes with xposed.
4. Dozens upon dozens of us have, I have a metro stylo myself.
5. Don't hold your breath for marshmallow, it might come tomorrow, it might never come. If/when it does you kdz back to stock and take the update or install it via a flashable zip someone is bound to make of it.

So the marshmallow update came out this morning for metropcs. I am curious to know what will happen if I upgrade. Will I lose my root? Will my phone go into a unnavoidable bootloop? Will ut brick? Should I just not update? Im running a stock rom rooted. Twrp is installed all on a metropcs lg g stylo (ms631). Thank you in advance for your help.

Search the forum there are better threads to help you from what I understand some say they have installed on top of root and were successful others are saying that it will boot loop and brick it's best to research to get a clear answer majority are saying you'll have to go back to bone stock to update then root mm after words method is already out

Honor 8 root (Nougat) FRD-L19 B386

I've been trying to search for root guides on google and this website but I don't really trust it as my version is rare. It is currently running on naugat and emui 5.0 as FRD-L19 B386.
If someone could please be kind enough to provide a guide in order to make this device rooted.
I've attempted rooting before from other guides but it seems that I either have to factory restart in order to make the root work, or I completely bricked my phone and have to get it fixed
If there is only one way you know of in order to root this device please just guide me anyway.
This model is also from Malaysia, so any kind of guide would be greatly appreciated by Malaysians.

Yo This Should Work
You Should Flash This TWRP. The TWRP In TWRP.com Does Not Work With The Honor 8.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/twrp-t3566563/page73
And Then After That You Should Flash Magisk Instead Of SuperSU

Anyone Tell Me [ How to make Root and TWRP for a specific device ]

Hiee Guys ! I have used lots of android phones since 10 years and also familiar with them . I always try to root every phone but a problem is that every android phone cannot be rooted . So, please anyone tell me that how i can make root for any device and how i can make twrp for any device .
Thank You in Advance......
As far as compiling TWRP, you can start with this thread. Any device such as pixels upgraded to A10 don't have TWRP so because recovery has changed drastically and development of TWRP had not yet caught up.
Root is available for any device that is rootable. Magisk does a pretty good job of covering the bases and is under active development so properly reported issues are generally addressed.
Finding an exploit to be able to root a device is a different matter. Some, like pixels, are straightforward to root since if bought from Google (not a carrier directly) they have unlockable bootloaders allowing the installation of non-stock images. On a device that does not allow the bootloader to be unlocked, an exploit to achieve root must be found. That is often the issue combined with many of these devices do not attract developers to purchase them and thus no attempts are made.

If the device is a device that has a locked bootloader that can not be unlocked, you will not be able to use TWRP. These devices can only be rooted if there is a rooting app or rooting program available for PC or android that has an exploit that works on the device.
If the bootloader is locked, you won't be able to install TWRP or use TWRP to root the device and you will not be able to flash a Magisk patched boot.img to achieve root.
If there are no exploits available that are proven to work on the device, you won't be able to root the device.
